Can anyone comment on candida/intestinal bacterial over-growth and its relation, if any, to losing one's balance when standing up/moving around??
Or getting "the spins" (the room seeming visually to spin/getting a repeated visual image of the room spinning partly around) when executing turns, as in a dance exercise?
... does anyone else feel that part of the mechanism of this might somehow be hyperventilation? ... also, that said hyperventilation is caused by the bacterial situation somehow and also leads to anxiety (I'm thinking lots of symptoms are interrelated!)
I can comment alot on this.... Do you have a bad neck? it may not be candida at all. Have you ever been rear ended in a car accident? Heres just a few other things that may be doing this. Inner ear, bad neck condition, jaw, menieres, bp, and or **anxiety*** All are notorious for this.
My neck does this to me. fall right on the floor. I have researched this for years.cindy
About a month ago I started losing my balance doing things that ordinarily were uneventful, like taking a shower. I also had pressure/"fullness" on 1 side of my head, forcing me to chew on the other side. All the symptoms of Meniere's disease but episodes very short in duration. I've also had a chronic, low-grade sinusitis on that side, 99% of which, according to new studies, are fungal, so I was worried that the sinus bad guys had traveled up the eustachian tube to the inner ear. But all it took to solve it was a cheap otc ear wax remover. Which still puzzles me, b/c the wax remover can only go as far as the ear drum, which separates the inner from the outer ear, and my doc says loss of balance DEF. means that inner ear is involved....
Really cargoshort? it could be fungal but you sound like me. I have pressure on one side of my head, sinuses there(same side) all the symptoms of menieres. Fullness in ear, dizziness, sinuses, balance issues, tipping over, vertigo. You know what it is? bad neck(Atlas). A bad neck is the cause on me. Because the upper neck, is one quarter inch from the inner ear structure. That creates the fullness, and jaw and head issues on one side. It feels just like menieres. The sinus issues come from them not draining properly because the neck and head are off.
Its very complicated. Sometimes people get this from an old car wreck years back. It feels just like it is an ear problem. I went to THREE ent's before i found out what it was.
You sound exactly like me. Not fun. But maybe the piece of ear wax, had the entire area in an uproar, because i know that a piece of wax in my ear will reek havoc. cindy
You know--I'm open to the idea, you might be right. So it sounds like you just live with it. Ever tried a chiropractor? Any good links where I can read up on this?
The loss of balance and the pressure haven't returned, just a one time infection or something... I have 2 theories why I have sinus blockage mostly on the right side. 1) b/c when I'm not sleeping on my back, I sleep on my right side, and so mucous is produced evenly but gravity pulls it down to the right sinus. 2) one of my upper fillings is leaking/compromised, ever so slightly. Not a raging infection causing pain, but enough of a leak so that the immune system is constantly sending troops up there....
Hi cargoshort. Its something to think about if you get it again. I do have a good site with lots of info on it. called upcspine.com. I dont live with it very well! I do go to a chiro all the time for it, and know alot about it. Usually if someone has dizzy spells, after they check their ears and the ears check out fine. look close by. Many times, its a jaw( and an infected toothache could do this too) or a neck. sometimes blood pressure.
When I first came down with it,( a tooth started it all) I blamed my sinuses, I blamed my ears, almost everything. Until i found out it was the upper neck.
Get your tooth fixed!PLEASEEEEE for me. You dont want to end up like me. cindy
Hi cargoshort, I tried to post a few minutes ago, i wrote a long post. It didnt go thru. Yes i go to a chiro all the time for it. I do know of a good site on it. Called upcspine.com.
Many times, a person thinks the sinuses, or their ears are the cause. Sometimes its the neck and OR jaw.....which are very close to the ears. Now you have a tooth thing going on there? Thats could have the entire area messed up and creating the dizziness and sinus problems. PLEASEEEEEE get it fixed. For me? My problems started with a tooth gone haywire.
I loved the other persons thoughts to, on the low oxygen. could be that. cindy
This could be inner ear bacterial type stuff as the others have mentioned.
Need more information. Such as digestive symptoms at all?? constipation, foul stool/gas, bloating? It does not seem likely that you would not have ANY digestive symptoms and yet have some some degree of gut flora imbalance.
I am curious, do you have low blood oxygen levels as evidenced by flushing red/dark red/blueish color in hands and feet. Any discoloration of the hands/fingers at the same time as the faint/dizzy/panic spells happen? If so, get back to me, I can help but it's a long story.
Aside from that, dizziness upon rising is associated with weak adrenals/slugish thyroid function.
I had the same symptoms, and zero insurance for several years. I just got on medicare, so I now have insurance. I was referred to a neurologist, and guess what he found out after doing an MRI and MRA? I had an old skiing injury to my head which caused all kinds of issues. And, yes, my neck is out also, and I am going to a Chiropractor who only treats the neck. It was easy to see in the Xrays how really off my neck and spine are. He told me it will take a long time to fix because my muscles and tendons are strong, and will keep pulling my neck back every time he resets it. My range of motion is much better now.
Me too Vineyardqueen! and most people dont know about the neck and what it can do. It masks itself as an inner ear issue, it gives vision things, neurological symptoms, dizziness, phantom tooth pain, mental fog, concentration problems. but if you have a bad neck? i bet you have a bad lower back? They usually go together.
Before i found out i had gone to THREE ent's. The problem i have is the same. My neck keeps needing to be reset just like you said.
Good luck to you too! cindy
hi cindy! Sorry don't know why I just got noitification on your reply? Anyway, thanks for the compliment hope things are going well. Hows the dizziness going? Improving?
My 2nd set of symptoms from candida where dizziness no equalibrium (sp?) and ear problems, couldn't pop for months it was terrrrrrrrrible plus sever neck pain.was doctors said it was menerres! I had never in my life had issues with my ears. anyways I finally found out about candida and did a cleanse and oh my god they popped, crackled did all sorts of crazy things, it was all candida including the neck pain. I have had a lot of really strange symptoms with candida.
oh and yes went to the chiropractor all the time, it did Not help at all I went to 4 really good ones too! had an x ray, ct scan everythign my problems were from candida and candida alone. but everyone is different you just have to find out what your problem is now. try the vital cleanse candida kit from gaia herbs. that was the best thing I ever have used for the ear stuff.
WOW WOW!!! I believe you. Maybe it sort of infected your sinuses and inner ears tubes. pop pop. I have had that. Its bad.
Mine is neck tho, it xrays like a total nightmare. The neck from hell. cindy
