i've suspected I have had candida as my earlier post indicates.
im curious why, now that its the holidays and ive been eatin alot of cookies and stuff, my tongue is really white and breath smells awful. i'm also starting to get geographic tongue.
why would increase of sugar cause this increase of bacteria? (i dont think its candida cuz i've not heard of candida smelling)
I mention blood sugar (BS) due to the fact that uncontrolled BS can affect immune systems, proper healing, vascular health, and other bodily functions. A covered tongue could be an early warning sign, it is good to rule out the easiest first!

Bacterial overgrowth is commonly mistaken for Candida overgrowth (thrush). But a white tongue could also be from leukoplakia, dead cells or oral lichen planus. Can you provide either a photo or better description? Thick, thin, patchy, etc.
Thick, white, patchy...... Looks like thrush (Candida overgrowth).
Kefir would be my first choice, preferably homemade. Swish it in your mouth before swallowing to introduce these good bacteria to the mouth, which fight Candida.
Sucking on zinc tablets can also help. Not the lozenges though because of the sugar. Instead I recommend getting some actual zinc tablets and allowing them to dissolve in the mouth. As they swish the saliva around the mouth to coat the tongue and other areas of the mouth. Try to stay around 50-60mg daily of zinc. So maybe get 30mg tablets and do this twice daily or cut these in half and suck on the pieces 4 times daily.
Chewing xylitol gum can also help as well as brushing with xylitol toothpastes.
thanks for suggestions i'll try those and report back. (ordered some spry chewing gum, tried zinc before but it tastes awful, i'll suffer through the taste tho)
do you think i also might have a fungal overgrowth in sinuses as well? is it common these 2 go hand in hand? oral and sinus thrush...
and does it make sense to you that the thrush would increase if i was eating lots of sugary treats ?
also is it supposed to smell bad?
ive been drinkin homemade kefir for about a week now and i havent seen much progress.... however ive been eatin cookies and what not due to the holidays ... maybe it takes both diet and kefir.

Zinc is petty nasty tasting, but you actually get used to the taste.

Even though Candida can lead to sinus infections it rarely is associated with oral thrush. Bu there are so many forms of fungus that cause sinus infections you can still have some sort of fungal infection from the antibiotic use.

That will contribute.

Yes, definitely.

Cutting back the sugar will help. But that also includes the kefir. In other words let the kefir ferment long enough to destroy the sugars in the kefir feeding the culture before using it.
