A great amount of evidence from many sources has now revealed that Wakefield fraudulently presented and interpreted his "evidence" in the study at the behest of trial lawyers. Even if he didn't cook the data and/or misinterpret findings, I'm not sure why his work was so highly valued. It was an extremely small sampling and no other researcher could replicate the work! Large volumes of follow-up data produced by further independent research is the only kind that has any weight in the scientific world - Like not here.

I've seen this interview before, but I'm not convinced, and people will believe a lot of garbage if it suits their own political views, or Conspiracy theories.
That being said, although I consider this study to be tainted, I do think that there could be a link between vaccines and the problems 'some' people have, after receiving vaccines, and this needs to be looked into, and studies need to be done, independently of politics, or financial self interest.
There are a lot more environment toxins polluting this planet today, and focusing on vaccines, to the exclusion of other possible contributors is bad science. Vaccines are merely a popular target at the moment.

If you had ever talked to a mother who brought a perfectly healthy baby into a physician to be vaccinated and within minutes afterwards the poor child begins screaming and falling to the floor banging there head never to return to normal you wouldn't consider your sensible discussion anything more then pure denial and calloused indifference to what awaits any young child whose parent are so uninformed as to allow strangers to inject toxic chemicals into their child!
I am not at all surprised by who the people are who support this criminal abuse, some people are totally mesmerized by authority figures !

There are cases of children that have responded badly to vaccines, just as there are cases of people responding badly to any drug, or even natural supplements. Studies do need to be done, to find out why this is happening, independent studies, where there is no financial interest by those engaged in the studies. Tainted studies and fraudulent studies, only further damage the interests of the other side of the debate.

Yes it is very emotional to see a child so damaged by these vaccines that it does this to them! I suppose you think it humorous also!
But the hypocrisy is outstanding ,you rant and rave about polluting the planet yet you support injecting some of these very same pollutants directly into an infants fragile body ! Why am I not surprised!
Can someone help me please? I have the African Vaccine Study file uploaded to a couple of sites but you would have to download the file to hear the podcast and I don't want anyone downloading any viruses. I can test the download but you don't know me. These are free hosting sites. The problem is the podcast is 68 MB and the music hosting sites cut off at 50 MB.
If you have a good anti virus program, should it be OK to download?
The download works just fine. There are so many ads on the hosting site however; the download works. I'll try to find a better site.

The download works perfectly. I have a complete paid for virus program called AVG with free Ad-Aware and had no problems or warnings. I am well protected. The virus scan was clean.

I have, at no time, supported vaccines. What I do support is good science, and independent studies, where there is no financial interest on either side of the issue.
Ryan is correct in saying that I am very concerned about the pollution of the Earth, and think that we should be doing something about it, but giving children vaccines, is not one of the ways that will help the problem of pollution, and it is not something that I support.
Yes, people get upset when their children are disabled. This however is not the case with the poster, that my reply was directed too. This poster uses emotive language, but it is insincere. This poster is interested in furthering his own personal grudges, by falsely accusing others of being uncaring, among other false accusations. This has nothing to do with the topic, which is the veracity of the study by Wakefield.
Your comment about Autistic people is wrong. People who are Autistic, feel emotion the same as others, and many Autistic people display a extreme sensitivity to emotional stress. Saying that Autistic people do not display emotion, shows that you have not had much contact with people who have Autism. It is also an insult to those with Autism.

That's not a balanced statement because you have tied the interview into it.
Do you mean like the political views or conspiracy theories about by those that accuse Dr. Wakefield of supposed "wrong-doing" as well?
Absolutely, there are reasons why Wakefield's study is likely to be discredited, companies that produce vaccines would love his work to be found to be fraudulent. The point is, that he may well have been fraudulent, for his own financial gain, just as much as he may have been unfairly discredited.
This is why independent studies, not studies by drug companies, and not studies by those with a financial interest in the outcome, need to be done.
I was addressing the issue of the Journalist who said he was working for a paper that he was not. Wakefield's studies have been replicated in other countries as he mentioned in his statement.
