Ok. I had a female V yeast issue. I was give the ONE TIME Dose, diflucan pill.150 mg (that you take once, and it continues to work in your system, for about a week). We repeated this three consecutive weeks in a row. That went on about 6 weeks ago.
Called the doctor last night.
He prescribes me Five 100 mg diflucans, to take One a day.One a day for five days.
This cant be the same type as the One time dosage diflucan? Is it?
Dont trust my doctor and dont want to overdose and get sicker.
Lots of you guys, take one a day? right? can anyone explain, because i am not sure, confused and dont trust the doctor. I did call the pharmacist and speak to him, and he thought it was worth a shot. Ps. I am not even sure if i have a yeast. cindy
Your doctor knows nothing about chronic candidiasis. If I was you, I will run to a doctor expert in chronic candidiasis. Where do you live? I can refer you to an expert md.
Diflucan taken like your doctor wants leads to no results when someone is dealing about chronic candidiasis.
Cindy,
For V yeast I took a 150 mg tab and then 72 hours later another 150 mg tab. However, when i had thrush it was 1 100mg tab for 10 days.If its not yeast, diflucan wont hurt you.I have been on it 4 times now and i have no side effects at all.Hve you ever seen Dr.Oz?He had an alternative med Dr on and he said a boric acid capsule in the vagina will provide fast relief, also a garlic clove would work.I myself dont like thos ideas so i just took diflucan and it worked for me!Good luck:)
Ashley, thanks for listtening! I dont dare do the boric acid either, or the garlic. Because if i fester things up, say like i have a reaction, that will set me back.
So you think its ok to take the diflucan? It didnt bother me either, but i am afraid to grow a resistent super yeast. i doubt it. I havent been on that much
6 weeks ago. i did the diflucan three weeks in a row. One pill, one pill, one pill.
I may give it another try. cindy
But Ajian, it would be better than nothing? right? i cant go that far for a doctor. Because three days a week i go to a chiro, and the other days... Its a snow storm. Plus i live in Maine, and honestly, there isnt a brain up here. cept me of course( hahahah) cindy
You may want to get tested for bacterial vaginosis (BV)...Yeast and BV can have very similiar symtpoms, such as discharge and itching/burning. I self treated for yeast for months and it was BV the whole time! I took the antibiotic the doctor gave me and then got a yeast infection. Hmmmm...yeah, it was lovely. There are lots of natural remedies for both of these that work great.
I was tested for the Bv. They did a culture for bacterias on me. It came back normal.
Then i play around with the Vaginal ph test strips.. They work pretty good. The ph is normal all the time.Bright yelllow. Supposedly that rules out Bv. So i spit on it, to see what the ph was in my mouth and the thing turned purple... So it works.. Supposedly that if the ph is normal the only thing it can be is yeast.
I dont even know if i have yeast. Thats what i am trying to figure out. Three V docs, and no one will do a culture.
