I have quite a few physical symptoms that most other people dont have at my age, I want to know what they might mean?
I have always had small hands and have no proper moons on my thumb/fingers. My finger nails are half white and cloudy with red bands on the end and no moons. The also have very fine verticle ridges.. but i have heard these ridges are acceptable. - What could these symptoms mean? bad circulation? weak kidneys adrenals thyroid?
Also my toenails (which I dont have photos of) have no moons and are quite pail... with more corse vertical ridges and also Some HORIZONTAL RIDGES.
And i also always have a puffy face and eye bags, what would it most likely be due to? Its got worse as Ive got older. (ignore the yellowish tinge in my photos... its just my crap phone camera)
Health history
I had 4-5 Amalgam fillings as a kid for about 4-5 years, which the teeth were then taken out at age 14/15 due to over crowding (so no Amalgams now). The amalgams may have weakened my thyroid/adrenals.
Anyway my other Thyroid/adrenal Symptoms just for reference:

Body consists more of fat.
• Less stamina than others
• Less energy than others
• Long recovery period after any activity
• Low Grade Depression

• Dry cracking skin
• Nodding off easily
• Air Hunger (feeling like you can’t get enough air)
• Inability to concentrate or read long periods of time
• Forgetfulness
• Foggy thinking - Slow thinking!
• Inability to lose weight
• Always gaining weight

and my diet is CLEANN, all I drink with my food is filtered water. and I eat gluten and dairy free. My body just seems CRAP AND WEAK and excersice doesnt seem to benifit me as much as it should do...
Ferratin: 62
B12: 481
Folic acid: 4.4
Vitamin D: 49
Calcium: 2.48
Creatinine: 89
CRP: 1
LFT: I was told 'normal'
Bone: I was told 'normal'
My Blood pressure: 120/72 (100/60 - 140/90)
Things I already know/done:
I have been suplmenting my Ferratin, B12 and vitamin D levels in the past 4 months, healthy target levels to be 100, 900 & 75... I am due a blood test to see how much i have raised them by. I have also been supplementing with a C+B complex and Iodine all this time.
TO DO: I also need to yet test my thyroid FT3, FT4, RT3 and anti-bodies (anti-tpo and tg-ab)tested
And also Cortisol tested.
What other things should i get tested, testosterone?
looks like AF
Low TSH.
in AF, usually TSH, FT4, and FT3 are low. Dry skin, hair are usually low cortisol symptoms.
B12 low normal. it should be higher than 500.
Finger nails could be lack of Zinc.
Salivary 4 pt cortisol test would be helpful.

There are cortisol tests kits out there that test cortisol 4 times as well as dhea, progesterone, estrogen and testosterone.
Add some selenium, tryosine and vitamin A into the mix.
It certainly sounds as though you may be in the early stages of adrenal fatigue. You should indeed get some tests done, but just be aware that just because the doctor says they may come back within the normal range does not mean that you are not suffering from adrenal fatigue. Also by going to the doctors you may also be prescribed meds which will only hinder the healing process.
It is interesting you noticed your face as I saw changes in mine about 12months before I was hospitalised with extreme adrenal exhaustion, but I thought it was just that I was aging- as I was 30 unlike yourself who is only 19. It is actually a good thing that you have noticed all of these symptoms as they do equate to an imbalance in your body. It could become extreme and chronic if you do not get a handle on it. I suggest seeing a herbalist. It sounds like you have already been gathering allot of information which is important. You also need to take a serious look at your diet (first) the candida points to that, try more alkaline foods (versus acidic) and remember to question everything and trust and listen to YOUR body (which it sounds like you are)! Your symptoms may sound trivial to someone else but don't wait until they become more serious. Saying that..... The adrenals are greatly affected by stress so if you can get a handle on the worry, try to. Of course figuring out why you are not experiencing optimum health at 19 will help in that regard! Goodluck!
CoQ10 certainly won't hurt. It's a vital nutrient. Coconut oil is good for fighting candida. Coconut oil contains caprylic acid which is anti-fungal. You can also get caprylic acid as a separate supplement.
thanks for that lolite. Them two for the uk seem like good sites.
Luckily ive found someone local that does cortisol testing so im set for that now... gonna do it soon.
Also people what do you think of my blood sugar values:
(explanations next to them)
1) 6.3 mmol/l - 113.4 mg/dl (60min after a meal - before bed - 12am)
2) 4.4 mmol/l - 79.2 mg/dl (next day waking up - no food - 14:30)
3) 5.9 mmol/l - 106.2 mg/dl (later on... 45min after a meal - 17:15)
4) 4.6 mmol/l - 82.8 mg/dl (next day... 4 hour fast.. after a meal - 21:30)
Immediately STOP the ferratin. You are showing signs of fungal overload. Yeast requires iron for growth. No white moons on your nails indicate liver issues. Toxins from Candida can overwhelm....
The reason you may be fatigued? Candida overgrowth. You will not fix your symptoms by feeding the Candida. Consider checking into the following..
NAC with extra VitaminC for cellular antioxidant protection from fungal mycotoxic damage.
Coconut oil...very antifungal, use multiple teaspoons daily.
Try wild mountain oregano oil and/or grapefruitseed extract and olive leaf extract. Go slow with all of this to decrease healing crisis symptoms.
Cod liver oil pills (10,000units vitamin A 400 or more units vitaminD per pill) you will have to see for yourself. I load with this 6-7 pills (yes, that's 60,000- 70,000 iu vitamin A) every few days for a week as tolerated. Make sure you take with a zinc:copper complex as Vitamin A is transported by Zinc. Vitamin A is antifungal.
Iodine from Kelp and/or Iodoral which will help kick out bromines and help your thyroid as well act as an antifungal. Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar is helpful for fungal problems and to correct pH making it more difficult for yeast to grow.
Many people have trouble converting beta-carotene into vitamin for storage in the liver. Vegetarians, hypothyroid and others. Stick with vitamin A.
Your folic acid is low. Get on a good multi with high levels of B vitamins. Try to find one with some P5P in it (the active form of B6) it takes magnesium to activate and you may be low. Folic acid is required for the metabolism of some important amino acids and vital for the synthesis of DNA (necessary for tissue repair).
Glutamine will help you rebuild the gut when you're ready.
And use your magnesium oil. Magnesium is required to help detoxify. You will feel worse before you feel better. You will have tons of sugar cravings during this process, try to refrain. You may also be depleted of minerals evidenced by the ridges in your nails. Try diatomaceous earth and/or fulvic and humic acid supplements. And DON"T forget an excellent probiotic. Garden of Life Primal Defense has soil based organisms that kill off yeast.
BUT after some research I think the Supplements I need to prioratise are:
- ZINC
- P5P
- B3 (NIACINAMIDE)
- SELENIUM
- MAGNESIUM
and MAYBE:
- MANGANASE
- CHROMIUM
Because I think I may have PYROLURIA.
Which causes deficiency of Zinc, B3 and B6.
The Symptoms I have of PYROLURIA:
• Grooves & ridges on the nails,
• Crowded teeth,
• Nervous habits (knee bouncing),
• Frequent impatience
• Irritability,
• Avoiding stress and conflict but has a hot temper when pressed,
• Dry skin,
• Inability to easily remember dreams
• Tendency to hoard
• Procrastination, difficulty making decisions
• Tendency to be obsessive about something, occasionalyy about eferything,
• Inability to "turn their mind off”
• Frequent insomnia,
• Often on edge
So i dont know my these symptoms are of PYROLURIA or of LOW CORTISOL or they MAY be both LINKED.
Also chromium for my instable sugar levels, these are some of my tested sugar levels with explanations, they fluctuate:
1) 6.3 mmol/l - 113.4 mg/dl (60min after a meal - before bed - 12am)
2) 4.4 mmol/l - 79.2 mg/dl (next day waking up - no food - 14:30)
3) 5.9 mmol/l - 106.2 mg/dl (later on... 45min after a meal - 17:15)
4) 4.6 mmol/l - 82.8 mg/dl (next day... 4 hour fast.. after a meal - 21:30)
5) 5.4 mmol/l - 97.2 mg/dl (after 3 hour fast after small portion of chips in morning - 13:15)
Heavy flatulence is almost always caused by food intolerances or inability to digest foods. Magnesium is a cofactor for digestive enzymes ( like lipase which helps break down fats). So USE your magnesium oil religiously.
"Magnesium is a coenzyme, and one place where enzymes and their respective coenzymes work hardest is in your digestive system. Enzymes help you digest and absorb all the foods in your daily meals, and they must have coenzymes like magnesium to do it. In addition, with ATP, magnesium helps your stomach manufacture hydrochloric acid, so necessary to break down your foods into glucose for energy. The bile that your liver contributes to aid in your digestion, especially of fats, is made of cholesterol, so it too depends on magnesium."
- Gary Null, The Complete Guide to Health and Nutrition
I take Wobenzyme or Digest Gold by Enzymedica. Both are excellent products with good track records. Consider a betaine supplement if stomach HCL is low. Here is more on Gas and digestion...
And on magnesium (if I haven't stressed it enough). Nothing functions without the proper minerals..vitamins are useless, energy remains low because it is involved in the function of ATP (our cells energy source) our neurotransmitters become imbalanced and we become depressed or worse....
You can take a simple urine test to check for pyroluria to rule it out. No sense in guessing.. http://www.kryptopyrrole.com/
If the test comes back positive, there is a lot of good info here (just go to archives and type in pyroluria).... http://www.orthomolecular.org/
Also, watch your intake of selenium. Over 200 mcg daily can give you problems and at levels of about 1,000 mcg -- or 1 milligram -- a day you may start losing hair, fingernails and have more GI distress. You already are getting 125mcg daily in your Humet and another 100mcg in your selenium supplement. Check if you have more in your daily multi or other supplements.
You are also getting 3.0 mg of Manganese in your Humet. Once you stop your iron supplementation which decreases your intestinal absorption of manganese your levels should stabilize with the Humet if you are low (unless you have a genetic issue which affects absorption/assimilation).
Check into NAC as well. I think you may benefit....
Thanks for again for the advice dained! :) - Yep I put magnesium oil on my body at LEAST 10 sprays day AND night.
- il check out the NAC i will try to get one with extra vitamin c.
- And Im going to get a PYROLURIA urine test, no sense in guessing as you say. Thing is im from the UK so im going to have to find a lab site within England, hopefully they perform the test correctly with the right values. __________________________________
- and about the selenium I got a hair analysis done by www.integralhealth.org They said the cause of my symptoms was RADIATION (im not sure if i should beleive it.. hope i didnt get scammed lol?) and they gave me a nutrition plan.
The nutrition plan reccomended that I take 1200mcg Selenium Cysteine per day! www.metabolics.com/store/search/product/selec60c/ Each tab contains 200mcg selenium. It said take 3 tablets twice a day, for a month. Then recuce to 2 tabs per day after the 1st month.)
Also it reccomended that I take (for the month, then lower doses for 2nd month):
- Black Walnut with 4&5(whatever that means) 6 drops, 3 times a day
- Super Magnesium 3 drops every morning
- Shark liver oil 2 caps per day EXPLANATION email from them: " The Black Walnut is to detox the radiation, the Selenium Cysteine is because you are depleted in this mineral and that is why you have no energy, depletion of this mineral will affect the thyroid. The Shark Liver Oil is to protect the cells while the radiation is detoxed and the Super Magnesium is for your lack of energy. "
Also by their hair test they can apparently tell me which foods i should avoid. The report told me to avoid Dairy, Wheat, Sugar, Pork. which I pretty much do anyway.. so useless advice lol.

I think also my severe brainfog could be caused by high levels of ammonia staying within my body. Maybe due to a urea cycle dysfunction. Which is usually linked to manganase deficiency?
So i may also get a amino acid profile if the PYROLE reults comes back normal.
Before you do anything more with your selenium, You should have your Iodine levels tested. Here is an article explaining (It is done by ingesting 50 mg of iodine and collecting 24 hours of urine. By measuring the amount of iodine excreted in the urine, you can ascertain the iodine status of the body.)
Studies have shown that if iodine is low, selenium must also be kept low to prevent the hypothyroidism from becoming worse (from increased DI-I and T4 depletion, as explained above.) So if both minerals are low, then the person is hypo and gets a goiter, but the damage to the thyroid is kept to a minimum. More severe problems happen when either selenium or iodine is high and the other is low. If selenium is high and iodine low, then T4 to T3 to T2 conversion is accelerated without T4 being replenished, leading to a worsening of hypothyroidism. See article here... http://www.greenwillowtree.com/Page.bok?file=selenium.iodine.html
Well Ive been pulse dosing LugolsIodine (7%, 3-4 drops per day) for the past year now. So Ive had quite alot in total now.
But Ive felt a small internal goiter a few times when taking iodine on and off. Maybe its because Ive been taking the iodine WITHOUT any selenium at all and I need to catchup on my selenium.
So maybe the lack of selenium has played a part in my continuing and slightly worsoning Hypothyroid? ..It seams that way from the reccommendation from my hair analysis, 1200mcg of selenocysteine per day lol.
Ive started puttin a few sprinkles of Himalayan Salt in my water every day now too.
Do you know how you were exposed to radiation? X-rays, medical dye injections or treatments, live by power plants? Do you live in an area that may be affected by depleted uranium?
Cysteine (as in your supplement) protects against some damage from radiation by neutralizing the free radicals it produces.
Here are other things that can help with that....
Baking Soda and Dead Sea Salt baths, use 1 lb. of each and soak for 20-30 minutes. (what radiation workers use, easy and cheap) Bentonite Clay baths or ingest. Clay is negatively charged and binds with positively charged particles.
Chlorella, spirulina or the best seaweed for radiation is Laminaria Japonica usually marketed under the brand name Modifilan.
Black walnut is usually used for parasite control. I have never heard of it's use in radiation insults.
Also, this is the mag oil I use. Their website has a lot of good info. Their protocol states you should be doing more sprays daily. Which type do you use?
