I'm trying to detox from mercury. Last summer, I took fish oil before I knew I had a mercury problem, and the result was nasty problems in my head - possibly as a result of the fish oil containing ALA, which took mercury from my body and deposited some of it in my brain. (I had dental Amalgams in at the time, so they may have taken mercury from them)
Months later, I tried oil pulling. Using coconut oil. After I did, I experienced the same symptoms again. I still had my amalgams in at the time.
I looked up stuff regarding coconut oil and if it crosses the blood brain barrier, and apparently it does. I may have accidentally - again - taken mercury and deposited some of it in my brain via oil pulling through whatever part of coconut oil passes the blood brain barrier.
Well, I'm thinking of trying oil pulling again, but this time as a form of chelation to just suck the mercury out and remove it. What do you know about mercury chelation via oil pulling? What oils do NOT cross the blood brain barrier, allowing me to safely pull out only the mercury that is not in there? My goal is to remove enough mercury that I can later afford to safely use blood brain barrier-crossing ingredients to pull the remaining amount out.
Hmm, why do you think oil pulling will chelate? Just curious where you learned this. What kind of symptoms do you get? Also, your fish oil has ALA in it?? are you sure it's not Alpha Linoleic Acid, and not Alpha Lipoic acid?
Regarding oil pulling, I dont believe that it "Pulls" anything from your body but I haven't done extensive research on it so i'll have my reservations about it but with an open mind. But I do know the concept of it by those who believe in it and the mechanism is that the oil PULLS toxins out. The oil doesn't get absorbed and go to the brain or anything like that. My theory is that oil pulling does work in some cases because it has the ability to saponify and turn white, which is essentially soap. Soap is saponified oil. And it thoroughly cleans the mouth of any bacteria or toxins so that's true. I have yet to see any medical evidence or logical argument of oil in the mouth being able to travel all the way through the salivary glands and pick up toxins that are being excreted out of the liver or any other part of the body and then back to the mouth and then spit out. If so, that oil in your mouth should be black and smell horrendous. I also believe that the benefits seen with liver flushes are essentially the same thing, which is saponified oil turned soap and cleaning the GI tract and inducing diarrhea or toxin release. Not a fanboy of anything or a hater of anything natural, people who know me know that I prefer to do everything the natural way but that's just my POV on this subject.
I'm not sure how much OP works for chelation - it's not really known for it. But I've recently started using Bentonite clay for getting rid of radiation, and that stuff REALLY does the job with chelation.
I've been ingesting it, but tried a footbath with the stuff last night (I know, how gay is that?) but the effects were astounding. It's inexpensive too. Yerba Life brand of drinkable bentonite clay is from $6-$8 depending on where you shop. And the Aztec brand of the powder is about the same price.
Sounds great. I just ordered it. So this doesn't cross the blood brain barrier, and can remove the toxins stirred up by the other product? I can use the two in the same day?
I just got it and used it about 20 minutes ago. I think I might be having detox symptoms right now - kinda fatigued in a weird way, hard to describe. I've read good things about it. So this AND the Heavy Metal Cleanse product I've been using will help remove the mercury in a big way?
How much do you need to do a foot bath, and how do you do it exactly? I might try it sometime.
Hmm interesting. I'm not trying to be a naysayer at all and if it works, more power to you but I believe activated charcoal and Bentonite clay are mostly to adsorb organic matter and has no/little effect on heavy metals. It could help with other detox and candida or bacterial issues though. Any input on this?
Well, I felt a lot more energized today throughout much of the day than I had for a while. I was really alert.
I'm definitely gonna stick with this product. Might even try the foot bath as well and see what happens. Especially since the brand I bought is only $11 per bottle - each bottle being a month's supply (assuming you take the lowest recommended dose).
So, I see no reason not to use Bentonite clay yet. I consider it an addition to, not a replacement for, the other product I'm using (which DOES cross the blood-brain barrier, which I want it to do).
What brand is it and where did you order it? Sounds interesting?
Have you ever tried activated charcoal? If so, how do those 2 differ?
Activated charcoal works well for me but it causes some GI motility issues and slowing and anything more than 1/4 of a capsule causes constipation.
I got Yerba Prima Bentonite clay. It's drinkable; will drinkable bentonite clay work with foot baths, or does it have to be a powder? I really want to try it. I want to speed up the detox as much as possible.
The Yerba Prima really works well for me. Clears my mind, helped get rid of a tooth infection. You feel SO much cleaner and even look better.
Big caveat though - drink this with a TON of water. Just make the commitment on the days you're ingesting it to flood yourself with water. I've been having very thick clay like stools recently that have resisted just about every attempt to get regular.
Now I'm drinking lots of hot tea that seems to be helping. Some people say you should take psyllium while using Bentonite, but psyllium has its own issues with constipation and lots of water consumption.
But it's worth it. After taking lots of heavy metal cleanses and oral chelation in the past, this stuff is just so much more powerful. But don't forget the gallons of water.
I learned the hard way that taking too much at once gives me a headache. I take plenty of water with it - at least 1.5 glasses when consuming about 1 tbsp (I don't measure; I drink direct from the bottle, since all my spoons are metal and metal is said to reduce effectiveness).
I don't have constipation. Sometimes I find it a little harder to use the bathroom, but the majority of the time, it comes out very smoothly. (Though I do, at times, have slight fatigue or a slight spaciness that is removed by using the bathroom, so that may be related to toxins being removed from the body) I feel like I'm on the home stretch to curing my symptoms overall, and I'm real excited about the progress I've made, currently using a mixture of Bentonite clay, Heavy Metal Cleanse by Renew Life, aloe vera drink, l-glutamine, and the anti-candida diet. I also have so much energy overall that I go for bi-daily bike rides for nearly an hour each time. Things are looking up.
Now, a coworker actually bought me a plastic container that can be used for foot baths (I was giving her health advice, and I'd helped her in the past with other stuff, plus I have an upcoming birthday :P).
Anyway, using Yerba Prima, what specific instructions do you have for taking foot baths? Use a cup (i.e. like half the container) into a certain amount of warm/hot water and soak my feet for 30 minutes? Do you feel detox symptoms after or during a foot bath? I didn't.
Iodine is suppose to remove mercury among other nasties...
Here is a slide presentation to tell you all about Iodine
Slide #38 shows that Iodine detoxifies Mercury and other heavy metals. Sorry for the tinyurl but the real url was extreeeeemly long.
Think Whole Foods sells iodine? I might add it to my regimen along with Heavy Metal Cleanse and Bentonite clay.
The slideshow didn't go into a ton of detail about what exactly Iodine did for mercury, only to say it helped remove mercury. It's a chelator I assume? Is it something I drink or take tabs?
You might also look into foods which have Iodine in them. Iodine is good in that it helps the thyroid do its job. A lack of the stuff can cause thyroid problems, which I believe I've been having.
I noticed the problem became noticeably worse when I began chelating with ALA more. I wonder if ALA depletes iodine. Now, I take a little salt every day and the problem has become much less.
I eat eggs frequently (8-9 in a day!), and chicken is a big part of my diet, and I know those contain iodine. But I may consider supplementation, because I'm sure that's not enough.
Iodine is one of the most important yet misunderstood supplements I know of. I certainly didn't know anything about Iodine until about 8 months ago ... when and if you start to studying it you'll get hooked believe me. I can't even begin to tell you how much it does in the body.
There are Iodine receptors on every cell in the body. This idea that all you need is 150 mcg is WRONG ... that amount is only enough to keep you from getting a goiter.
The doctors at the Iodine project (a 11 year plus ongoing project) have determined that about 95 percent of people are deficient in Iodine and that if we had Iodine sufficiency we would see the rates of many if not most cancer's drop significantly ... along with diabetes, heart disease, and autoimmune diseases.
I hope you'll take the time to look closely at the slide presentation and also go to godlikeproduction and click on page 9 to see the video presentation there as well. It is well worth it.
As for removing mercury and other elements ... all I can tell you is that the doctors at the Iodine project have stated this to be true and that they have also done urine test to prove that these elements were indeed being removed as Iodine is increased.
These doctors state that it may take 6 months to 3 years to reach Iodine sufficiency ... taking as much as 6.5 to 50 mg per day of Iodine/ Iodide combination. This is due to the fact that Fluoride, Bromide and Chlorine will sit on the Iodine receptors until enough Iodine is taken to remove these toxic elements and Iodine can take it's rightful place.
For more info on Iodine you might want to check out the Iodine supplemenation forum here at curezone. There is a lot you need to know when taking Iodine.
It has nothing to do with liking the figure, it's just that the 150 mcg figure only keeps you from getting a goiter. Don't take my word for it please, look at the research on Iodine and listen to the interviews and other evidence it's all there in the links provided.
Yup. I'm aware. Other people have said that despite that, they didn't end up with aluminum inside their bodies afterward, proving that it doesn't keep the aluminum in the body, but that it goes out along with the clay.
So I'm gonna keep using it alongside my Heavy Metal Cleanse product.
