Hi all. I am 6.5 months pregnant with a "high risk" pregnancy and I have thrush. My ob/perinatologist called me in clotrimazole lozenges today and said to take them 5 times a day for 14 days. I was wondering if there is any alternative to these. I just got over a kidney infection (antibiotics) and i have horrible sinus drainage especially in the am and horrible congestion in the nose. I do currently take colloidal silver but i just started again when i got the akidney infection a few weeks ago. I was working on my health b efore we got pregnant and unfortunately i didn't get to where i needed to be. I have been diagnosed with so many things i can't count and i don't know what to focus on during the pregnancy that relates to the thrush and my generally crappy feeling. Here's a list of what the western docs have dx me with, please, if you know if any of it is important to focus on to make the candida better, especially in pregnancy, let me know.
fibromyalgia
RSD/CRPS
Narcolepsy
hashimoto's thyroiditis
crohns disease
psoriasis (guttate kind)
psoriatic arthritis
chronic fatigue
chronic EBV
questionable chronic lyme- only 2 bands were positive on blood work but i was dx with lyme at age 12 and treated
now they are saying they think i have lupus- which has been an off and on dx for 5 yrs due to- swollen lymph nodes, swollen joints, low platelets, swollen spleen, anemia, positive ANA, mouth sores, constant kidney issues (hydronephrosis, infections, protein in urine, etc)etc
also recent bloodwork my immunglobulin levels were low for certain ones. there was something else low but i forget what. I've had so many MRIs, Ct scans (before pregnancy) sleep studies, blood tests, biopsies, colonoscopies, etc etc. now i feel lost because i have no clue what to do to make myself healthier for my unborn daughter. we just foud out she has cystic fibrosis as well so i want to be as healthy as possible to help her. we have 3 extremely healthy children and never knew we were both carriers. i am concerned about the issue of candida causing sinus issues- if it passes to her or not through birth, etc because with CF she will already have enough respiratory concerns.
Thank you all for reading and your helpful input. best regards
A lot of what you described are possibly related to heavy metal toxicity. I suggest you find more information about that (especially if you have silver fillings, but there are many other sources of metals). If you think you have heavy metal trouble, then it would be necessary to replace silver fillings (if you have any) and chelate. However, you should wait until after you give birth before replacement or chelating.
I wonder how safe it is to take colloidal silver while a person is pregnant. Could the silver have any bad effect on the unborn baby?
Hi thanks for your reply. I don't have any silver fillings but I used to. I had them all replaced a few years back. It is possible though that I never removed the metal burden in my body properly though. When all of the symptoms and "conditions" began rearing their ugly heads I went and got all the fillings replaced but not at a dentist that used a rubber dam or any special techniques. I will look into it and see if there is anything that can be done during pregnancy for it.
As for the colloidal silver, I read everything I could find about it and I read that in a lot of places/countries they use colloidal silver to help with weight gain in the unborn child. It is apparently also used in cystic fibrosis treatment. I don't think it is as bad as the antibiotics and host of other meds they are keeping me on throughout my pregnancy.
I agree about probiotics. Kefir eats candida. Yogurt - with acidophilus (easy to find at major grocery store) displaces it. You can get a pack of Kefir grains cheap online & make some easily. All you need to make eternal yogurt is some plain acidophilus yogurt. Take a spoon out, put it in a jar & let it sit outside the fridge for maybe 24 hours. When it is jelly like, it's ready. Repeat forever as needed. Kefir is about the same. You must start out with plain kifir (or the grains) & plain yogurt, no sugar, fillers, etc.
One "little" problem. Kefir can cause constipation, so you may need prune juice or something to combat that. If you eat the kefir while it is just starting to thicken up - at about 12 hours - it can loosen things up. The thicker the kefir, the more likely it will cause constipation. But - it's sooo good for you in so many ways & it does kill that nasty candida.
Another warning, you can get die off from killing candida, so maybe go slowly.
hello, im not a dr but i have been through alot...i had thrush while preg. and i get it all the time so does my son. Thrush is not that bad to have... other then can turn painful to swallow, its not overly bad...if you go to a natural food store they will have an all natural liquid that will take it away, or you can wash mouth with warm salt water or anti bacterial mouth wash.. if u use inhalers remember to wash your mouth out after you use the steroidal one...
