I was wondering if someone can tell me if a person can be allergic to Nettle tea.
The herbalist I got it from has me boil 5 cups of water then removing it from the heat adding 1 oz of Nettle then I put lid back on and steep for 2 hours. Strain
I drink one cup in the am and one cup in the pm.
I notice when I drink it I get inflammation in my lower throat area (maybe my thyroid). I also get a itchy scalp.
I am wondering what this is.
Thanks so much for the help.
Maggie
PS. I emailed the herbalist on Monday and she hasn't gotten back to me, so trying to figure this out on my own.
Try a pulse test! Take your pulse before you drink, then drink your tea, then wait 20 minutes, and take it again. If it's 10 points higher or more, then there you go.
Hi Maggie,
Yes it's quite possible you could be allergic to nettle tea. Why are you taking it? There is probably another herb just as effective as nettle that can do the same trick. What's the reason you are taking it? I've research and give you some alternative herbs that would be as effective.
