I had quite a disappointing visit to the IAOMT dentist three days ago, still recovering from the very stressfull and lenthy trip.
He convinced me to do the x-ray of both sides of my jaw,
which of course didn`t reveal anything new to me.
He could not tell anything about the metal crowns.
It will be VERY costly to replace them with zirconium ones.
The dentist said I don`t need to worry about their biocompatibility.
What is the chance that mercury or root canals could be
hiding inside the crowns???
That dentist is the only one here trained how to safely remove the Amalgam so even if I go to a holistic dentist and he finds Amalgams and\or root canals hiding inside ,he won`t be able to safely remove them.
He wants to replace the amalgams with a BPA free composite filling. It might contain Bis-Gma, Bis-Dma or similar compound that can be degraded to BPA at some point .Even if decomposition into BPA is not happening those composite and sealants can leach Bis-Gma or other compounds that have questionable properties.
I already have quite a few composites so maybe it won`t make
much of a difference for me, what do you think?
However, those BPA-free fillings may also contain ingredients that are not bio-compatible with me and may cause health problems.
And what about the biocompatibility test?
will it help determine if I can tolerate it?
Still no idea what glue they will use....
He told me not to worry about the root canal I have,
which has a composite filling. Knowing about the
awfull bacteria that live there, how could I?
I occasionally feel pain in my root filing .
It happens only in the morning ,when I eat hard food on it.
Even if I do get it pulled there won`t be a way to
confirm if it is fully cleaned and extracted properly.
No cavitat scanners in this country....
idk about thermal imaging ,ultrasound.
How will I be able to complete all of them?
it will take atleast three more trips, probably 4-5.
I wanted to get it all done for more than a year
and I`m quite depresed about all of this :`(
I really need your advice!
Zirconium crowns, I wouldn't worry too much about the biocompatability of them. Zirconium oxide or zirconia is a white ceramic. That actually use it as an implant material, so really it is safe.
But as for biological dentists, they vary a lot. Some are simply afraid of stepping outside of the approved ways of doing things in case their lose their licenses. Even saying Amalgam is bad a dentist can risk losing their license.
As for your root canal. If it was me I'd just pay a local dentist to remove the tooth. Then instruct him to cut away the bone around the whole socket, for at least a few millimetres, making sure all the ligaments are gone. If it bleeds a reasonable amount, you've reached good bone and it stands a chance of healing. If the dentist takes the tooth out and doesn't clean the socket, and there is an infection in the bone there, the chance of it healing is very small. If they drill it, they risk heating and killing the adjacent bone and also fracturing it microscopically which creates places for bacteria to hide. If you shove enough money in his mouth I am sure he will follow your instructions. If he wont find someone else.
Thank you.
What about useing zirconium for fillings?
How difficult can it be to follow such instructions?
Even if he is honest and follows them accurately,
the adjacent bone might be infected and he can
miss some?
The crowns worry me just as much as the root canal. root canals could be hiding inside them and the
dentist can see them only after he removes
the crowns ,right?
And what will I do then if I have it done at the
IAOMT dentist office because of the zirconium ?
(That is, if no local dentists have it...) maybe CT?
Thank you.
I have a weak memory.
I`m not even sure if it was in 2005 or 2008 ,let alone
remember what was done ...
It was so painful and traumatic that all I can remember
is the extreme pain and how the large amounts of anesthetics didn`t lessen it at all.
The extreme pain was only in my lower teeth ,I think.
This still doesn`t answer the crowns problem.
If the IAOMT dentist removes them and there are root canals,
I`m doomed. What can be done then?
He wants to replace them with zirconium but thats no use.
To loose(pull) three teeth that appear healthy doesn`t
feel ...right, either. (not mentioning the mega huge
pain that awaits me T_T)
Sorry if I might sound annoying and such but I`m so worried
for so long and it all scares the .... out of me :(

is the extreme pain and how the large amounts of anesthetics didn`t lessen it at all.
The extreme pain was only in my lower teeth ,I think.>>
I had this same problem with my lower left wisdom tooth. The guy injected me about 5 times with anaesthetic to try and numb the the pain. The pain during the operation was at the top end of what I could physically tolerate without punching him in the face. I was quite literally dripping with sweat by the time had finished torturing me. It wasn't until after that I learnt what this meant. Anaesthetic only works in a certain pH band. Acidity stops it from working.
Read the part that says
LOCAL ANAESTHETICS ARE INEFFECTIVE IN INFECTED TISSUE (ACIDIC).
If that happens you have a pretty large infection, most likely anaerobic (the worst kind). This is what happened to me, I had a massive bone infection (anaerobic). If theres no one with a cavitat there, try and get an MRI done with STIR imaging. You can find cavitations that way, well that's what it says on http://www.drshankland.com/page11402151.aspx
Oh, that explains the pain .What you described is most likely what I have felt myself.
Or can there be another reason for it?
I still don`t feel the infection and such, though.
No signs of it...
I will ask the doc and try to get the MRI with STIR imaging.
Is it more accurate than ultrasound and
infrared\thermal imaging?
Does acidity stops all anaesthetics from working?
COX-2 inhibitors? DMSO ?
I never felt the infection in my jaw either. Never once had pain or swelling. This is how cavitations work. The bone dies, and there is no blood flow, no immune system access. So the body mounts no defence, no puss no increase in body temperature. The bacteria live in a ball of slime, quite protected from the body.
Ultra sound is probably the best way of finding bone anomalies but if you have no access to cavitat an MRI with STIR imaging might be worth a shot. Thermal imaging can work too. But there are other ways of finding cavitations. Often is you push hard on the area it will hurt. If it hurts you probably have a problem. Normally you can push down hard on bone and you just feel pressure, not pain.
Iv`e got the Ultra sound appointment to next month but
only soft tissue head\neck and jaw Mandibles are available.
That is the closest thing the MD found..
I think I only feel pressure but not sure.
If there is pain it`s not very strong and seems to
dissapear in seconds?
How to be sure?
I have a root canal treatment and crown similar to the original post. I get regular low level pain and throbbing but no other symptoms I would attribute to my tooth so far. I want to treat the tooth properly but I'm not sure how to go about it. Your suggestion sounds good but my tooth is constantly visible as it is one of my front teeth. I've started looking for holistic dentist in London and will now research biodentists too. What would you recommend in my case? And what has your own experience been?
My advice would be to go to a caviation specialist trained and certified with the Huggins protocol. My understanding is that these are the best ones out there. I would not have anything put back in my mouth without biocompatibility testing first. I have one I want to go to, but it is a 3 hour drive from our house and we just don't have the money to pay for it. Guess I need to start playing the lottery or something.
Thank you.
I`m still looking for a caviation specialist ,
let alone one which is trained and certified with the Huggins protocol. (I`m not in USA...)
But as for the biocompatibility testing ,it appears he probably does only composite and zirconium anyway.
Same here, I feel your pain .It took me about 3 hour drive on 3 different buses and a lenthy walk to reach the place.
I saved the money for 3 long years.
It will probably take a few mounths to get the
MRI appointment.
If you were in my place, what will you do?
Get the Amalgams out even if it can be replaced
only with a composite made of questionable
compounds ,ex. can degrade to BPA, etc.
Is it ok to have so much plastic/petrochemicals
inside of two fillings?
And will you do it even if the trip will be
stressfull and somewhat harmfull to your health
and require you to do the trip a few more times
to complete all the procedures?
Hope I made some sense ,it`s hard to write down
my thoughts... think I forgot something...
What health problems are you having that you want to make all these changes? You didn't say. I very recently saw a number of people post (at a vitamin retailer on the internet) that they got relief from tooth abscesses and gum problems with COQ10. I think I have a cavitation in my jaw and I read that hyperbaric therapy can help bone necrosis. Since that is a high oxygen therapy other oxygen therapies may work also, I'm thinking. Like h2o2 baths with baking soda, juicing, and alkalizing with alkalized water from the healthfood store. I might call my pet shop and see if I can use something they sell for fish tanks might be used as I don't have an ozone machine. Not sure where I got that idea. It's ridiculous that I have to try to convince dental professionals about the truth of cavitations. RIDICULOUS!! I have also been using the zapper from http://www.bestzapper.com
along with the zappicator. They are both types of machines invented by Dr. Clark. Also, I've been using a toothpaste of 5 tsps. Baking soda mixed with oil of oregano (one capsule or 10 drops) where I'm having pain, to kill pathogens. I call them pathogens because cavitations are not caused by normal bacteria. I've been calling it a form of botulism because that's what people seem to understand, otherwise they can't understand why it doesn't respond to antibiotics. I have an appt. at a medical center in Phila, July 12,2011. Probably have to convince him too...grrrrr.....!
Hi and thanks for the reply! sorry I
didn`t reply to this earlier but my
Problems keep piling up....
My health problems are too many to
list or remember ,but I`ll
add it later if I remember more...:
Brainfog including: slow thinking
(sometimes very slow), not able to
concentrate(to the point that writing
a Message might take between a week
and a few mounths!!), memory loss,
sometimes depression...
can`t tolerate stress .
Irritability ,esp. to stress and noise,
smoke and such. can be very high.
All I can do then is to just sit there
with my hands sealing the ears
untill the noise is over...
sometimes quite hard to fall asleep .
Strong burning in feet while not bare
or standing\pressure.
Hair loss. Low body temp.
I occasionally feel pain in my root canal tooth.
It happens only in the morning ,when
I eat hard food on it.
Excessive mucus\saliva production .
Coated white tongue after any sleep.
I must scrape it well out of my tongue
every time I wake up during the night
(atleast once) because it tastes very
nasty.
I`ve heard about the COQ10 before but
I can`t even take care of the basic
stuff yet...
Sadly to say, there are a lot of biological dentist/holistic dentist out there who ONLY aware of mercury/amalgam issues, but have no idea on root canal & cavitation issues. The problem when you come to these dentists, they would prioritize to take out the mercury first. However, if you have root canal /& cavitation issues, you need to tackle those issues first before removing any amalgam. My suggestion to you is to find a good holistic/biological dentist who understand the root canal & cavitation issues.
I know it's such a hassle. I am also facing the same thing. I had to fly 12 hours to another country just to meet the dentist who knows this (not easy: I have list of health problems as well). And the treatment is long. I am just started though, so don't know whether this dentist approach will work or not. But he seemed to know better than any other dentists I'd seen. You can contact DAMS for list of biological dentists in your area (http://dentaltruth.org/). After you get the list of dentists, you can call/email them to ask whether they know about safe root canal extraction procedure & cavitation issues or not. If you do not get good answer, need not to waste your time and money going to them. Narrow down your list and go only to those who knows. Hope you find good dentist.
