Does anyone have an idea why every time I take a supplement of any kind (besides probiotics), I get a raging vaginal yeast infection? I have tried all kinds of vitamins/minerals/herbs taken one at a time and within a day, the pain starts and once I stop taking the supplement, the pain subsides within a day or so. I have been taking these exact supplements for years now and it wasn't until I douched with MMS a few months ago that the problem started. I have tried repopulating the vaginal area with probiotics and I am scared to death to try any kind of douche at this point. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated : )
No iron. These are simple and very high quality zinc or amla or magnesium or herbals, etc. No fillers and no known allergens. I have taken them before with no problem...
Okay, I was asking because there is a known association between yeast infections and iron.
Having said that, I found an interesting article entitled: Nutritional Supplements don't always work to fight yeast and may make it worse! at the following link: http://www.nutritioninstitute.com/supplements.html
I'm not trying to diagnose you or anything, but perhaps you will find something helpful in the article.
Yes, I have been following the cleanest candida diet & taken anti-yeast supplements for 3 years now and have seen a little improvement, but now the other supplements like the zinc and vitamins and minerals and electrolytes, etc are bothering all of the sudden...only in the vaginal area though. It makes no sense why I take a Quercetin, for example, and it causes vaginal inflammation that goes away as soon as I stop taking it. Quercetin is a natural anti-inflammatory! I am so confused and frustrated : (
Seems like candida has the ability to utilize a lot more substances than we think. Taking vitamins is very contraversial as well. Some say yes some say no. Seems like candida might have the ability to utilize vitamin supps. If noticed before that ive taken some herbs+supps and they seem to work for 4 or 5 days and then make me tired after that. Maybe the candida figures out how to utilize these substances after a little while.
I've never read the book and I'm not a fan of buying health :(
However, there are many resources on the net that offer yeast inhibiting eating. Though I've found one of the best defenses against Candida overgrowth is a daily regiment of garlic(ie. salads) and grape seed extract(oil). Which you can also use to make salad dressing with.
The biggest common denominator in Candida treatment is where people tend to attack the issue with aggressive treatment. When in reality, Candida overgrowth is rarely(of ever) a primary cause condition, and so people often find themselves battling yeast related issues for very long times.
However, I believe the key to a well balanced body(Candida included) is to achieve a well balanced lifestyle and stick to it. And by that I mean, no supplements whatsoever, lots of fresh air and exercise, lots of raw fruits and veggies, ie. garlic, radish etc. and plenty or rest.
And I believe this because there are more nutrients and benefits in a single serving of fresh greens or fruit than most any supplement could ever give.
However as an exception, I would highly recommend bathing in Himalayan Crystal Salts. Which Can be fairly expensive, though incredibly beneficial to the body(massive immune booster).
