Any way to fight CMV retinitis and blindness ?

 Hi. I'm in my early 30s and I continue to suffer from undiagnosed symptoms.. but it really seems like I must have aids. no, I;m not some hypochondriac and im of course open to other ideas. I realize that if not aids however, i must have something else or some assortment of other conditions which are causing me progressive symptoms of retinal detachment. (I see more and more floaters across my vision and get various eye pain+sinus).

Sounds like you have a lot more going on that simply CMV.  It also sounds like you have problems with collagen deficiencies that are contributing to the retinal detachment and floaters.  Natural vitamin C and silica sources will help with this.  Information on silica:

Make sure to avoid stimulants such as caffeine and nicotine since these can contribute to the formation of floaters as well as retinal detachment.

I understand the CMV virus is the most common cause of blindness for people with comprimised immune systems (not just aids). Everything I've read about this says they give you these horrible antiviral drugs which slow down the progression of the disease (but which also cripple your existence) and that regardless, you are still not able to fight off the CMV so... eventually you still go blind. :(

CMV is a common cause of blindness in people with severely suppressed immune systems.

But I wanted to point out a few facts.  First of all AIDS is not a disease, it is a syndrome (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome).  Secondly, the antiretroviral drugs such as AZT and its analogues are a primary cause of AIDS.  I have posted on all of this a number of times.

Look in to ozone therapy.  You can use the ozone through  ear insufflation for the CMV virus in the eye.  I also recommend the amino acid lysine, 1,000mg three times daily.  The lysine needs to be taken alone and on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before meals.

I've read into eyebright and it seems like a good place to start.

Eyebright is good for strengthening the blood vessels in the back of the eye.  So it is good for floaters due to macular degeneration.

I try my best to keep my diet healthy but its really hard. I take about 1500mg vitamin c a day with green tea extract and various amino acids and an occasional multivitamin. I have an eye appointment mid-august and I hope that they will be able to see something wrong and give me some options at that point... before i do go blind.

If you're wondering, I've been tested for aids about 3 times within the past 8 years.

Again there is no real test of "AIDS".  And there are no standard lab tests that can confirm the presence of a virus.  Antibody testing is a complete joke, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR), also known as "viral load",  is not much better.  Neither confirm the presence of nor the activity of any specific virus.  These are merely sales tools.  Again I have posted on this a number of times.

The tests have always been negative but i continue to decline with more and more horrific symptoms year after year. I have a friend who used to be a lab tech and she explained to me that the window for detecting the hiv virus thru testing is actually more difficult than the public is led to believe... and that it actually goes dormant and is undetectable for a long time. If you miss a chance to detect it after the initial time period, it wont even show up on a test... until it fully activates years later.

That is complete garbage!  Again there are no standard lab tests that can determine the presence of any particular virus.  There are over 65 known causes for false positives on HIV antibody tests and PCR is prone to false positives for a number of reasons as well.

Furthermore, HIV is not a common cause of AIDS.  In fact it cannot even cause AIDS under the original definition of AIDS.  This is why the definition of AIDS was changed to fit the virus after Robert Gallo, who had already been busted for scientific fraud, lied to the world again when he claimed HIV caused AIDS for his own financial gain.  Gallo lied because he held the patent rights on the HIV antibody test.  But the government knew he lied again with his claim so to cover up the lie they changed the definition of AIDS to fit the HIV virus.

There is no proof that the cancer virus HIV goes dormant though.  Again, they have a hard time even proving its presence.  The ONLY way this can be done is with electron microscopy, which is expensive, time consuming and like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I also realize that eventually it will show, and that therefore it may show for me now... but I am scared again now to get retested. heh.

any suggestions or advice appreciated.. especially if you have any ideas about how to fight CMV+HIV to prevent blindness. dying is bad enough.. but losing sight before you die has got to be the most horrible thing that can happen to someone :/

Again ozone is the best way to deal with the CMV itself.  As for leukemia/lymphoma viruses, such as HIV, if present the herbs pau d' arco and andrographis are very effective in dealing with leukemia and lymphoma viruses.

Have you been checked for EBV and HHV6? That would mean you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Which doesn't help much because no one takes it seriously, but it's disabling.

Dr. Montoya is finaly doing a study out of Stanford with 4,000 people. If you have it he will look over your records and put you on a waiting list. That's my only hope.

I've beeen on the antivirals, valcyte and valtrex, for months and felt worse so I just stopped.

There's so many symptoms. I had this most my life and just got diagnosed at 57.
