After a period of 4 months moving towards healing my progress has reversed. I am not sure there are about 3 variables 2 of which I can control. Last is carpet beetles, in my bed biting me while I sleep.
I woke up and two of them were biting me, this was after I found about twenty in my quilt folded at the end of the bed not being used 2 days earlier. Then I woke up next night and one was on the pillow right under my neck. I now have a horrible lesion on the back of my neck. They are all over two rooms. I have had them dive bomb me and bite the back of my neck. I have 3 places now that are gross and oozing.I am trying to wrangle it with the edta but the one on my foot is out of control.
If you look at some pictures on line of them they are covered with fibers. It is possible they are re-infecting me. They could be laying eggs in me : (
De does not work they fly.
Anyone had any success getting rid of them?
Yes, I am 100% positive they are not bed bugs and are carpet beetles ( oval with wings opposed to pointy but and no wings ) in case you were wondering : )
Thanks for any thoughts on this. I am using menthol in the bedroom now and have started sealing all the cracks. No clutter. Clothes in bins. Mattress in a zipper casing. I have used boric acid also. This started with a neighbor tossing a bed her aunt had in storage. She had no where to put it before the garbage so she put it behind a barrier in front of my home. It had a cover and I examined it. Crawling with bugs... all carpet beetles. I started seeing them after that. It was last year...
pretty sure the olive leaf is the missing variable, i rotate it and was off it longer than normal. it seems to heal the sores better than anything, i think combined with the iron chelators ( lactoferrin and edta ) is what made the progress so rapid
I am not sure, most people say coming from us. But could be coming from the source of infection as well. For you the dog? Me I got the dose in this house from water standing on my roof. I have seen the white fibers growing in the sewer and I had a bad flood in the basement. I still see fibers in the air in the basement if it is moist.
The cleaning really helps, DE spray ( 40% water 40% alcohol and 20% dishsoap and as much de as you can get to dissolve in a chapin type sprayer ) It did not harm anything I sprayed and I sprayed it everywhere walls, furniture, floors. Wear a mask. Once it is dry it will not go airborne. It stops them but does not kill them. Some people use air filters ( check fungis posts ). I use menthol and close the room off. Airs out quick with a fan. Vacuuming with hepa helps a lot too.
I called an eco-friendly company to spray a pet-safe pesticide in the corners of my home prior to moving into it. So far, no allergic reactions or problems. The compound they sprayed is called Demand (peticide) all around the inner and outer perimeters of the home. So far, bugs crawling into the home end up on their backs, especially in the garage. Supposed to work for 6 months at a cost of around $60 per treatment. I didn't sign any contracts to do re-treatments. I just needed to know where the bugs were coming in from, and they were at poorly weathersealed enterance doors. Sometimes, you have to check other areas of a home like Dryers exhaust ports for openings around the wall - unfinished work. Usually, water lines have unfinished/incomplete seals around them, allowing bugs into a home. I'd check behind a dishwasher even, could have unfinished walls there too. Sometimes a chimney could lead to bugs coming in.
Point is, you have the option of spraying your perimeter for these bugs. You'll be able to tell where they love to crawl to and from. Call an eco-pet-friendly company, note your concern for your health when you deal with them.
that is so helpful to here from someone who had the problem and treated it successfully, internet is full of failures except someone who used steam. That would not work in my situation
As a last resort, remove all your rugs and install wood flooring. It doesn't have to be real wood, it may be some synthetic wood looking material. Carpet beetles wouldn't have a home any more. Installation is not that hard for a DIY, if you have the time and little $.
First I've ever heard of carpet beetles possibly carrying the disease, although if you have Morgellons, maybe you transferred it to them.
Get diatremaceous earth and start spreading it around on as many surfaces as you can. Possibly do one room at a time (seal the room off and wait a few days).
You will need a good respirator as this natural fossil can irritate the lungs. I know with bedbugs it works because when the bugs walk across it, they die not from poison, but because the rough surface of the fossil cuts their bodies thus killing them. I'm sure it would work for carpet beetles too.
I used the de spray ( they fly but they have to land somewhere ), menthol, sealed, cleaned really well and i am finding less 2 nights i did not find them on me. My house is old horse hair plaster and old mouse nests ( way before my time here ) I demolished a room and I think a nest of them. Getting the bags of pld materials out has even helped. I had not sprayed my walls or ceiling in a long time because the morgs were no longer all over them : )
