Out of nowhere, I started getting severe gas every time I eat, about ten minutes after I eat. I was the most regular person on the planet, then it started out with severe constipation, and turned into severe bloating. When I am able to have a movement, it doesn't feel like I'm done. This has been going on for almost a year now.
I had a colonoscopy which was fine, and right after my colonoscopy, I was fine for awhile. Then the constipation returned, and now I can usually only have a BM with a suppository, or if I drink smooth move tea, however the tea is severe. I did a Colon Cleanse a few months ago, but it didn't help.
Last week I was struck with a flu or food poisoning, and since then, the gas and bloating is back with a VENGENCE. It's intolerable. I've been on probiotics for a month now, my diet isn't terrible, I get plenty of fiber, I eat fruits and vegetables.
Your statement "I was the most regular person on the planet" hit home to me. I used to be that person. I also never had gas, then it started, and alot of it, about ten minutes after I ate. I had over the last few years lost alot of weight and was in what I thought was the best health of my adult life.
I was fatigued, and had brain fog, but I attributed that to a highly demanding stressful job, single mom, etc. One day I didn't have a BM. This lasted 4 miserable weeks and 2 days.
It's a long story, and you can read my detail post if you click on my name. But the result was that I found I had worms blocking me. If this grosses you out, that's how I felt, disbelief and every other emotion.
They may not always be detected on a colonoscopy. They were not detected in 2 CT scans, or in my blood test. Two weeks after my first CT Scan, I expelled a bundle of worms, and then my bowels started again. It is worth considering a parasite cleanse.
Most of the published reports claim that loose and runny stools are the symptom of worms, but I'm proof that is not always the case.
What a story! It's interesting how our symptoms seem so similar, even my first trips to the ER with the magnesium citrate.
First garlic clove down the hatch! I'm willing to consider anything at this point.. How does one go from completely normal to this? It doesn't make sense. I too an generally healthy with my lifestyle choices, yet I struggle to maintain a healthy weight (seems only really extreme diets actually help me lose weight). How many garlic cloves should I take a day? How will is smell (breath, or pores)? Has anyone discovered a way to neutralize the smell?
Yeah what a story! And how does one go from totally normal to this? I might be becoming cynical after dealing with this for so long, and I am watching too many documentaries on GMO's and the environment lately I think, but I am beginning to wonder if my quest for health, and my diet high in fruits and veggies that have been sprayed and genetically altered, actually altered my immune system. But that is for another forum I think :).
There are many types of cleanses you can do, you don't have to try the garlic. The only reason I stuck with it is because it was what worked great for me, and made the first kill. I would recommend atleast 2-3 cloves 3-4 times daily to start, and stick with it for several days to see what happens. Also, eat very lightly during this time, and eat atleast an hour after a dose of garlic. You will definately smell. And if your bowels are not moving well, the smell will be worse as it builds in your system.
I have been taking Dr. Shultz #1, and it has kept me moving. I also just started taking psyllium recently. I have also taken Oxy powder , but at a low dose. I am trying to alternate and some days not take anything, because "I had the most perfect bowels on the planet", I hope to return to that and not be dependant.
You can always try the herbs, like wormwood, blackwalnut, and clove. Another combo that someone had success with is Neem, boswellia, myrrh, and oil of oregano. These herbs are pretty cheap, I get mine from swansonvitamins.com.
I hope you find what is causing you problems. I would love to say you probably don't have parasites, but knowing what I know, I tend to say that it's likely you might.
One more thing.....the gas is something that I haven't spoke of much, it always goes away when my belly goes down. Because I know what is causing mine, my theory about the 10 minute thing is that they leave their resting place when you eat to move upward toward the stomach to get the food. That frees up the intestines to push the air out. Before this, I never ever had gas. If I did, it was very lady-like, pure quiet air with no odor or sound. Now it is hard to describe, so I will spare you all.
There are virtually no syndromes and/or diseases that are not reversible. If you are interested in taking control of your own health [and I sincerely hope you are], the following will give you all the information you need:

Just like virtually everything else in life, it is all ultimately up to YOU.
