Back in the very beginning when my health crashed I started drinking it a lot in an effort to turn things around. I even bought my own hand juicer and started growing my own at home. In the end, it was just too much work for a benefit that didn't really seem worth it. While it did seem to give me a boost of energy, it did pretty much nothing as far as helping candida.
Don't try to grow it! Just buy Amazing Grass wheatgrass. It's powdered. I wrote to the company about the product to make sure it's safe. Many benefits, it alkalizes us, detoxifies us and absorbs toxins, plus it is good for digestion.
I have a can of Amazing Grass in my freezer, although I found that the real thing gives me more of a 'zing.' I think you are right though; I am going to start drinking the Amazing Grass again.
Yeah, it's the best ever. They have another product, called Amazing Meal. It's like a whole food product, you can mix it with almond milk or protien drink or something. Very good product.
I was actually mixing it with some chlorella but I ran out, now I'm afraid to buy it because of the japan disaster! Do you think it's safe???? Like it might have some kind of radiation in it! I want to buy it again!
Be careful how much greens you drink with your meals. It can cause constipation--been there done that. I always drink any greens on a empty stomach. People with candida need all the beneficial acids they can spare. Humans arent designed to eat alot of greens/grasses.Our stomachs arent designed that way.
I'm at a loss. I've been taking GI-revive for maybe 2 months or so, along with Golenzymes with food. I found out I had to much stomach acid with a Heidleberg test, so I don't need HCL. But, my digestion is not good and I'm able to tolerate less and less. One thing sets me off and I suffer the whole day. Nothing is really helping me despite a very careful diet. I'm not sure what to do about it.
For people with candida a slightly acid forming diet is optimal because we lack some of the beneficial acids necessary for optimal digestion. For people that dont suffer from candida combining meals that are not too acidic or not too alkaline is optimal. Being too acidic can cause inflammation+bone and joint problems---whereas being too alkaline can cause indigestion+constipation. Eating too alkaline can buffer the necesssary acids for proper digestion.
The design of our teeth and digestive system shows that we eat a combination of foods not just meat or grass/plants.
Even the biggest gurus will usually say to use wheat grass sparingly; yet Ann Wigmore was big on WG.
It can sometimes be TOO powerful and really knock ya one. I've had some before that gave me the shakes and I couldn't think straight; and other times, I got the nice energy boost.
As far as the comment, below, about not really being meant to eat very much in the way of greens, I think I have to disagree. Read Victoria Boutenko's "Green for Life". I might agree moreso in regard to WG, though - use sparingly.
I noticed in the protocols of some of the greatest healers ever, that WG isn't even mentioned.
As far as Fibro, I find that good, organic, fresh as can be APPLES do a lot. Apples contain malic acid, which is really beneficial for Fibro.
For me, lifestyle has made an enormous difference - however, sadly, in REVERSE order. "Back home", I was practically symptom-free and often even forgot I had Fibro. But six years ago, I moved across country into a WHOLE DIFFERENT WORLD - in all respects and it has really turned my health topsy turvy.
Now, even weather changes (which is daily) make me very sore; and often very nauseous.
As far as water goes, I have an Enagic Kangen water machine and I cannot thank GOD enough every day for one of the best things that ever happened. Drinking a GALLON, yes a GALLON of water every day, of micro-clustered, super hydrating, ANTIOXIDANT, alkaline water really helps alot. And when I consistenly only drink maybe a quart, or more and not at least 3 qts, I feel the difference.
Keeping to at least two of your meals raw a day will also make a difference. Easiest way is to drink green smoothies for one or two of the meals (they really FILL you up); or juicing; or a huge salad.
Whether you eat meat, chicken or fish or not is up to you as to what feels right for you and you listen to your body. The only importance there is that it be the cleanest, freshest quality possible - grassfed beef, etc.
