Hi-

I want to fast, but three years ago when I did it, I got to day 37 and my potassium levels were dangerously low. I wound up in the hospital for the afternoon, but I had been working in the yard the day before and it was a hot day. Can one water fast and take vitamins? If so, which vitamins are recommended? Thanks

Hi, sorry to hear that happened to you. But no you cannot take vitamins while you are water fasting. It is strictly water only. Your body has reserves of everything..but let me ask you this, what symptoms were you experiencing that made you know it was serious and go to the hospital? I've never made it past 25 days on fasting but sometimes it's hard to determine whether the discomfort we're experiencing is due to the symptoms of fasting or a red flag.
