confession: I don't like it either. (would actually rather go thirsty) I will try it again, next water fast. But I drink spring water. we do the best we can...
For me, the issue is likely the plastic, since I don't own a distiller, and only plastic has been available to me, up to now. I have read that adding a few grains of brown rice to a carafe of distilled water will shift it away from that vacuum of 'nothingness' and into something that tastes less dead. It's the minute amounts of minerals that does it.
I find it tastes "dry", or rather, like plastic, not tastewise, but in terms of wetness, or something. It's a strange beast I have yet to grasp. :-)
but I vaguely remember the taste of fresh rain, decades ago, when it tasted clean and washed, rather than loaded with poisons. And it was good! More like dew. That's "Natural" distilled water. The other kind is all manufactured.
If you are unable to drink distilled water due to its bad taste, do not worry at all.
Simply wait without drinking until you are so thirsty that you are willing to drink anything. Then you will see that water, distilled or not, may taste like heaven.
Believe me; It works like a charm and cures any capricious water drinker.
Filtered water is fine if distilled is distasteful, but you could easily find that ANY water may not be very palatable.
I tried all kinds of water on my own two prolonged fasts and found little if any difference between them, in that they were all distasteful.
In my view it is the bad taste in the mouth, experienced by many, which gives this false impression/taste.
SHELTON.............
"A frequent development while fasting is a dislike for water. This is particularly true if the water is "hard." "Hard water" that, while one is eating, tastes pleasant enough, is rejected by the sharpened sense of taste. In such cases we find the use of distilled water, to be satisfactory". http://www.soilandhealth.org/02/0201hyglibcat/020127shelton.III/020127.ch29.htm
I would personally never use anything but distilled as this is the purest/cleanest of all H2O.
The Water we drink is the most important thing we put into our bodies. Distilled Water is the best because of TDS (total dissolved solids). It has zero (or thereabouts ). Reverse Osmosis water comes close.
Filtered Tap Water is okay for removing Chlorine, but does not remove the solids. These solids are inorganic, and cannot be used by our bodies. Therefore, what can't be eliminated is stored....making for health problems later in life.
My tap water has about 250 ppm (parts per million) of TDS. I was so concerned about my water that I bought a Distiller......WY
P.S. What you do short-term doesn't matter. For long-term...think Distilled...not just while Fasting, but for everything.
