I have a 4 and a half pound chihuahua.. For the condensed version; we found his liposarcoma last May.. It was the size of a golf ball in the roof of his mouth. We had surgery to get the tumor de-bulked and I got rocky on a species appropriate diet and supplements (mushroom complex, tumeric extract, burdock root, blood cleaners, all natural). He seemed to be doing well and then it started to sprout up on his lower jaw.. Tried to get more removed.. He did well for a few more months. A couple months ago he had his last (says the vet) and final surgery. She said she can't keep cutting and that it's around some things that could cause nerve damage and salivary gland damage. I just heard about OPCOleander extract a month ago and got the product a couple weeks ago.. I started him off on a super low dose and slowly increased.. He got violently ill with vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite, he puked for two days.. I took him off and gave him a few days and then tried again.. Well, today he woke me up vomiting and I took him in and had to get him an IV and some blood tests she recommended to make sure the oleander didn't damage any organs.. Of course she was mad.. The vets are just like the doctors, "nothing can be healed holistically we need to stick to meds.." I'm so exasperated.. I really wanted this to work as this was my last stitch effort, but he is miserably sick and has lost a whole lb in two weeks! That's a lot for a little dog.. He still hasn't gotten his appetite back and I am so afraid to give it another go.. I just don't know what to do. Please help! I was giving him .6 mls of oleander and slowly increased it to 1ml. He eats organic chicken and lamb (no grains as carbs feed cancer) Right now he is not on any supplements because of him being so sick.
I would not use any more oleander. Dogs digestive systems just aren't set up to handle oleander well. It's even worse for cats. Initially, we were excited about the possible benefits for dogs and perhaps other animals from oleander - due in great part to succesful caniine oleander trials. However, those trials used an injectible form of oleander and not oral oleander. Though a few people have been able to use oral oleander with their dogs, most are not able to and we do not recommend oleander for dogs, cats or other animals.
With humans, there are alternative delivery routes when stomach issues cause problems - injecting the patented medicine version, sublingual and rectal. Sadly, none of those are very practical for dogs and other pets, though I suppose rectal adminstration of the liquid extract might be possible in some situations.
It sounds like you have made quite the good effort. If it were me, I might try painting some items such as iodine, perhaps baking soda, few drops of DMSO, etc. directly on the problem area. Perhaps there are some other suggestions which might be helpful that you have not tried in the suggested anti-cancer protocol for dogs we put together:
Hi I hope you will read this testimonial as I think you will hopefully get you chihuahua back to a healthy happy dog. Obviously what works for one may not work for the other, but I hope that in your case it is positive and well worth a try. The diet talked about in the below testimonial is the BARF diet. If you decide to give your dog the Essiac Tea , you would need to administer a smaller amount to start with. If you need the diet, I can email it to you or post it on the site if I am allowed.

The Essiac tea we ordered from you was for our much loved 6yr old Great Dane "Harley" who was diagnosed with Lymphoma. The vet told us to take him home and love him, that there was nothing we could do for him as with this particular type of lymphoma, by the time you see the symptoms (swollen glands) it is already to late. She gave him just weeks to live. At that point the only symptoms where the swollen glands other than that he was his happy normal self. We were told that he would wake up one day and not want to eat and would go down hill from there. A fast aggressive cancer. Not one to give up so easily, I got online and did my own reseach and amongst other things, found some astounding info on Essiac Tea. I decided to give this a go and was fortunate enough to find (I have removed my business name here as it is probably not allowed). Unfortunatley our order took the long way getting to us, and during this waiting time Harley completely stopped eating, could barely walk, and was drooling constantly as it was difficult for him to swallow due to the tennis ball size swollen glands. He was reduced to skin and bone so quickly. With my husband working away I was faced with the reality that I would have to be the one to call the vet in to put him to sleep. Just as I had made this tough, heartbreaking decision, the Essiac Tea arrived! I gave Harley 4 capsules straight away. When I returned home later that afternoon I was astounded to be greeted by Harley! He was up and came straight over to greet me! I gave him another 4 capsules and later that night his energy levels were even better. Every day we saw a remarkable improvement. His appetite returned and the swollen glands reduced. It has now been 5 weeks since Harleys diagnoses and he is a happy, energetic boy who has a healthy appetite and is almost back to his normal weight. Along with an anti-cancer diet, Harley is now taking 2 Essaic Tea capsules twice a day. We are so pleased to still have our beautiful boy with us, and a happy boy at that. We were so close to losing him and I strongly believe that without the Essiac Tea Harley would not be with us today. Thank you for making this wonderful product available to us here in Australia.
