Would like some first person advice - I am doing nutritional balancing via Hair analysis - bout 4 months in.
I seem to rotate between 2 states of being for a few days at a time: One state is the rest state where I sleep like 10 hrs a night, brain fog, no libido or hormones or motivation at all. But my system has slowed down.
The other state is the stress state, I have palpitations, adrenaline, some sex drive and emotions, good focus, but I cannot sleep due to adrenaline and eventually wear myself out.
Exercise usually throws me from state A into state B, but I love running, lifting, sports etc. and they are one of the activities I still have that I enjoy. Does anyone else doing copper and AF treatments have these 2 diff. states of being? And anyone else seen benefits/negatives to remaining exercising while trying to recover from this type of stuff? Should I try to stay in the slow state even though it sucks to try to rest up my body? Last question: has anyone else's sex drive actually gotten worse once they started N.B. and their system slowed down?
I am on the nutritional balancing for 10 months now. I was not able to exercise, I was to exhausted. But now I can walk 2 miles without feeling tired. I was warned at the beginning of the protocol to not exercise, save my energy and rest as much as I can to heal the adrenals. I had a lot of days when I was even more exhausted at the beginning of the protocol from my body detoxing. Plus I spoke to my practitioner and she said the supplements are holding my energy back so the adrenals can heal.
Hi!
I am doing my protocol through Dr Larry WIlson, he assigned a practitioner to me. The hair analysis is done by ARL.
Are you doing the ARL, for how long and how are you doing?
Marie
I went directly through Dr Larry Wilson to have my hair analysis done. Once it was done he assigned one of his Practitioners, a top students to me. She is a Chiropractor and is awesome. He reviews the results of the hair analysis with her and make suggestions of supplements, diet, ect.. She sends me the hair test results, plus written instructions and a 45min ( approx) DVD giving me detailed results and suggestions. I can either e-mail or call her. If I buy supplements from Endo-met labs I say 20% off. It takes about 1 month to get results.
I have improved greatly, I never thought I would get as good as I am.
Wow good for you! I am using ARL with endo-met supplements and a different practitioner, I have seen really uneven results with some things even seeming worse while others better. Could be partially because I have not been able to rest enough or reduce stress though..
Hi SeattleK,
Are you on Paramin from endo-met labs? I take 6 a day and that has helped me calm down and the stress is so controllable now. I would ask your Practitioner about this, it may not be for your protocol, I don't know. I just know my calcium was off the charts. I was informed with my first hair test to take this amount and it was to calm me down. I am on a lighter dose now, due to some bloating, so I think my body is telling me I do not need as much.
Are you low or high cortisol? I am low, and still on hydrocortisone(lesser dose now since starting the protocol). I do not believe that the hydrocortisone played a roll in calming me down..I was a mess, my dose use to be as high as 5o mg daily to try and help with the calming feeling too and it never did that for me.
I am on a bunch of supplements now since May 2011, what are you suggested supplements from the protocol?
Seattle, I think you better cut out the exercise, specially if you are not able to decrease stress in other areas of your life. Why do that to yourself? It seems clear that your body is telling you to rest. If you are gaining energy then instantly using it up with activity you will only prolong your healing.
If you have AF, you have to give up heavy exercise for now. At least that's what we've all found. That includes heavy cardio (running, squash, etc.) and weights. Both are too taxing on a system that doesn't have the right resources.
Now that doesn't mean you have to give up all forms of exercise. Long hikes are GREAT, as is meditation and yoga.
Once your system is in order, then you can start again. I can play squash now for a solid hour and not be totally burnt out afterwards. But for years I could not. Some days are still exhausting but most are good.
Note: when you have high cortisol you can't really add muscle on. Really it just causes excess fat. So the best fitness routine you can do is balance that cortisol with nutrition, lifestyle changes and ... yoga and walks.
I have done hiking/walking throughout my AF. After I started to detox I had to quit. I got too tired and it seemed to be a choice between exercising and letting my adrenals heal. After months I am now starting back up. I have lost muscle tone and stamina.
This is a pretty resounded response, thanks all. I have just worked hard to stay in moderately good shape throughout all of this, I guess I will have to be ready to let that go.
Also Marie, my naturopath recommended I take Paramin, but I declined and went with a cheaper calc/mag supplement. Maybe I should rethink that decision. Thanks
