So Ive read extensively over the negative effects of amalgams. I thought its connected to my skin problems, food sensitives, etc Ive had. Possibly other symptoms Ive had as well. I had 6 fillings - all amalgam. I had two smaller ones removed by an IAOMT certified dentist this past wednesday. I am waiting my next appointments few weeks ahead.
Soon after it I had strange effects with my head. Felt first visual/cognitive distortion driving home. Now just pressure, brain fog, etc in my head. Its really strange. I feel normal, but I just am not. I been lethergic, sleepy, not wanting to do work. I think it may be affecting my cognition, memory, concentration. What is this?
I never felt this before. Ive taken various antioxidant supplements before and DMSA before without this effect. Ive taken DMSA now and some supplements with not much difference, but still this strange head effect. Is this mercury poisining to a degree? Something with the electromagnetic change with the two removed? This sucks so much. The removal was done safely.
Whats you take? Also, how can taking DMSA with Amalgams in be bad or worse for you? If the DMSA chelates from the amalgam, it not free anymore (its bonded), so it wouldn't be bad. Anyways i read that little DMSA gets through the digestive system. But my main concern, what should i do about this brain fog feeling?
Even the safest removal procedure can cause mercury release into a body. The effects you feel will be different according to where the mercury ends up.
I think you are fortunate that taking DMSA while you have silver fillings didn't cause a disaster for you. There are others who got much, much worse when they took a chelator with fillings.
You could try going to a sauna and drinking a lot of water now, as well as supporting your liver. Supplements and food to support your body's natural chelating systems could be helpful too. Those things may help, but I think the best thing for you to do is finish replacing your fillings and begin chelating.
Well thank you. Sorta feel like I was going insane. Maybe it was the paranoia of mercury? Its hard to tell what it is without solid diagnostic evidence. I wonder if I am so used to the level of mercury burden, if there's any at all, that the mercury burden is normal life to me. I wonder what its like to be normal and free of it? Maybe my life would of been radically different. I hate these mysterious symptoms. What is your personal experience with amalgams?
Mercury can cause all kinds of problems, including the ones you described. That is almost certainly the reason why you feel bad now.
Here is my story in a nutshell...
I started to feel sick decades ago. I often had a stuffy nose, headaches, temperature intolerance, Raynaud's Phenomenon, Eczema, chronic fatigue, an irritable bowel, Fibromyalgia-like symptoms, emotional difficulties, forgetfulness and many other problems.
I went to doctor after doctor, and they couldn't really help me. Sometimes a doctor gave me medicine to help with a symptom; sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't and sometimes it made my problem worse. One doctor said he thought I have Systemic Lupus while another thought I was suffering from depression, even though I wasn't sad. I was mostly frustrated because of my health problems (Depression is, however, an often described symptom of what I really have).
Finally, I started doing my own research. I found Celiac Disease, and I tried a gluten-free diet. It helped, but only for a few months. Then many of my symptoms returned as bad or worse than before.
I discovered yeast and tried an anti-yeast diet, yeast killers and probiotics (The most effective yeast killer I've used is x-virgin coconut oil). I followed the treatment for more than a year. I felt better, but every time I broke the diet, the symptoms returned with a vengeance. I was also becoming intolerant to more and more foods (this was before I understood the need for rotating the foods on the diet). I was losing hope.
Then, the breakthrough. I discovered mercury. I discovered that silver fillings are 50-60% mercury, and the mercury is constantly flaking off into a person's body. This, of course, can cause many problems, including yeast overgrowth.
I was skeptical, but I took an expensive leap of faith and had my fillings replaced and began using supplements to chelate the mercury from my body. It took time, but after 6 months I was feeling better. I could break my diet and my reactions were relatively mild. After 12 months of cleansings, I could feel even more improvement.
Now, I've been cleaning for a few years. Many of my symptoms are gone or much less than before. Recently I went to Cambodia for 2 weeks. I broke my diet every day for 2 weeks. That would have knocked me out before I began the anti-mercury cleansings, but now I feel some discomfort, but it's fairly mild. I'm not ready to leave the diet completely, but my condition has improved drastically. My only regret is not figuring this out sooner.
My message to anyone who reads this is that yeast and/or mercury is very easy to confuse with other health problems (Celiac Disease, Depression, Lupus, IBS, Fibromyalgia, etc.). There may be more people like me out there. I suggest that you do your own research and find out more about this, especially if you're having trouble finding relief.
Mercury from silver fillings is probably the most common cause, but there are others. If you have silver fillings please consider getting those poisonous things out of your body and chelating the mercury out (replace the fillings before you chelate. Not doing so can make you very sick). I think it will help you the way it helped me.
Hello, I have been recently experiencing pain in so many areas of my body I'm starting to feel fear. About 2 weeks back I started experiencing these shocking/stabbing pains in my groin area that last for 3 days, they were on and off but finally went away. About 5 days ago I started feeling chest pain on my left side and today I feel it on my right side, its like a squeezing pain that last for 10-20 seconds and goes away. I also feel discomfort in my liver/gallbladder area, 4 days ago after eating ice cream, milk and cereal, I started experiencing stabbing pains in my liver area, it was very painful, and afterwards I started itching all over my body. I have also had this strange pulsating in my head/ears whenever I lay down to go to sleep, its like i hear the blood rushing to my head, the sound is in my ears, it wouldnt let me sleep for 3 days but now has somewhat gone away but still remains. I have also noticed that I have a slight tremor in my head thats goes No-no, pause, No-no, side to side movement, its very tiny and I only notice it when I keep my head perfectly still and only with my glasses on can I notice that my frame is shaking side to side. I know this is so many symptoms but Ive been writing everything down so I dont forget what to tell my doctor come Saturday.
What could possibly be wrong with me? Im only 25 years old, male, 6'2, weight is 160 and dropping it seems, my appetite is gone and when I do feel hungry I try not to eat because it seems like the pain starts back up in my liver area after I do, I eat healthy for the most part, no fast food, salads, turkey, tuna, chicken, etc...I went to the doctor for a yearly physical back in jan 2012, the physical and blood work came back fine. I went back to the doctor only 1 week ago and explained to him that I was having these groin stabbing pains he ran a Ultrasound of my liver/kidneys/groin area and everything came back fine but he did find a small cyst in my groin area and said its nothing to worry about at the moment. I am going back to him on sat this week for bloodwork to be done.
Thank you for reading, any information would be greatly beneficial to my well being.
I wrote this earlier today looking for anwsers when I realised that all these symptoms came on after I had my teeth filled with Amalgam or removed amalgam for the past 4 weeks. Please read the below for my symptoms.
Mutiple symptoms and pain after last dentist visit on Thursday 03/15/12
Woke up friday 3/16/12 with these symptoms, Shocking/stabbing pain in lower left abdomen and groin area - painful 1st day better the 2nd day,
head tremor - never noticed it before only after wearing glasses
also when laying down I feel a pulstating sound in my ears/head, could not sleep for 2 days but since then has died down but still remains till this day 3/16-3/17
About 4-5 days after the dentist very painful liver/gallbladder, stabbing pain after eating milk with cereal and ice cream, lasted about 3 hours afterwards whole body was itching 3/18-3/19
The next day I felt pain in my chest on the left side, day after that pain on the right side, also pain in my upper left abdomen 3/20
Today i am feeling pain in my right shoulder/neck/colarbone area, it feels like a tight pulling, also my left side of neck feels sore but not as much as right 3/21/12
I had 5 or 6 teeth drilled and filled in 4 weeks time, could it be possible mercury vapor from the dental amalgam is the cause?
That is the question I am asking myself today, and I am almost 100% sure all the pain I have been suffering was dentist related. Ive never been sick in my life and now at the ago of 25 my body all of a sudden is deteriorating in a matter of weeks? Not possible.
It's quite possible that you are experiencing an especially severe reaction to mercury though I haven't heard about someone having as severe a reaction as you're describing.
Dear Rowe, Yes, it's quite possible, even likely that the new Amalgam fillings are annoying your body something strong. Get them replaced ASAP with good suction to get rid of the fumes, and start on chlorella and MSM (sulfur compound) to clear yourself out.
I got my first fillings when I was 15, after 2-3 years always inside on the computer, and it was the root of my molars that had started going bad at that time. A month after I got my first two fillings, I had pain around the liver area, a fever, and the doctor couldn't figure it out. Eight months after that I was in the doctor's office and put on insulin for type 1 diabetes, and been on it ever since.
To reverse the tooth decay, avoid refined carbs as much as possible (white flour, White Sugar and corn syrup products), and go on 3000-5000 iu vitamin D3 with magnesium citrate, 200-400 mg /day. Vitamin C is also known for helping to eliminate infections, even in the root of your teeth.
M' sorry you are experiencing this now, but rock the boat a bit, 'specially if it's with the dentist, and God bless.
