I really had enough :(, been sick for years and lost everything.
Anyway, since I started candida-diet I feel better. But I had 2 root canal teeth removed, didn't feel better or worse though, 6 months ago.
Now I had my first fixed partial denture yesterday. the dentist dosn't know what soft of metal alloy under the porcelian. I called a lab I know and they said it's nickel-chromium alloy.
I can barely affod that one, can't afford any other kind. Is that safe? won't the body absorb that alloy? is it like mercury? oh god I'm sick of being sick. But mostly bacteria and candida that is causing my sickness (low body temp, severe dry eyes and hypothyroidism)
Nickel-chromium alloy is the norm for partial dentures. You can make them from gold or titanium but those alloys won't work as well for partial dentures.
If i were you, i wouldn't be too concerned about Nickel-chromium alloy. I would be more concerned about the acrylic used in dentures, because if not cured properly, it could possibly release toxins.
In short, acrylic comes in powder form, then it is mixed with liquid chemicals and is cooked under pressure for a certain period of time under certain temperature. This process is called curing.
I don't want to scare you though, because a lab that does dentures all day long will cure dentures properly. Another thing you should look for in a denture is good polish, a denture that has rough spots and is not polished properly will attract bacteria. Bacteria does not stick to smoothly polished denture or crown. This is for the exterior of denture, the interior is not polished because it will fall off if otherwise.
Hello,
I am NOT a dentist, I am a dental technician, I make denatures and partials.
Do they make all acrylic partials in egypt? This is an alternative to the metal. Although they are not as strong as the metal, many have them with longevity.
