I literly thought I was loosing my mind until I came across this forum. I had Mirens inserted Jan 10,2010.These past 2 yrs have been a complete nightmare. I have been to the doctor about 30 times in the past year and a half complaining about headaches, insomnia, hear palpatations, abdominal pain, gas and bloating, numbness in my hips and legs, lumps in my breast and auxilla, huge ovarian cysts that could be felt by pressing on my abdomen, vision changes, constipation, acne, weight gain of 25 lbs in 2 yrs, nausea, depression, major mood swings, a complete lack of sex drive...the list goes on. Since I am a nursing student, my doctpr automatically said it was all just sress!! Are you kidding me?? He gave me antidepressants and ran some bloodwork...everything was normal, I was tested for a gluten allergy...normal. Thank God for all of you ladies writing about your bad experiences!! <3 I came across this forum last week and literly started crying, I was so happy that someone else felt my anguish. I have an app on April 11 to have my Mirena removed by OB, I can't wait to feel normal again, but I am now really concerned about the negative effecs that some of you are having after removal. Any advice?

I can understand (TOTALLY) your being afraid to get it out because of the side effects you'll almost CERTAINLY have. But, I think I can safely speak for all of us when I say RUN don't walk and get it out and don't let ANYONE talk you out of it. I only had it in for two weeks, and I'm coming up on a year removal, and I'm MOSTLY better now. It is poison. I had every single symptom you listed and a few other strange ones. The sooner you start your recovery and healing, the better. We are all here for you. So glad you found this. Most of us cried too when we found it because it was such relief to know #1 We weren't dying and #2 We weren't crazy
Honestly, sometimes, it seems like you can figure out a pattern for when you feel bad (before period, before ovulation) maybe with a few good days in between. But, then, other times, it seems so unpredictable. Unfortunately, there's no magic potion to just feel better. Lots of us did different variations of cleanses and detoxing. We've tried to eat healthy, stay hydrated, get fresh air and exercise and pay attention to the times we feel bad to see if there are triggers. I think it just takes time.
