I took the Vermox protocol for roundworms/pinworms for 7 days (as suggested in this forum) and have come up in a nasty rash all over my body. The back, legs, buttocks and hips are particularly badly affected. The rash is incredibly itchy, red and sore. It feels so hot that I have the impression my skin is burning.
I stopped the meds 7 days ago and I've had the rash for just over a week. It is finally starting to die down but I have been bathing in apple cider vinegar, Epsom Salts , etc to help relieve the symptoms. I don't know if it is being caused by the die off of the parasites or if this is a side effect of the Vermox. I read on-line that one of the reported side effects can be a rash or hives and that one should see a medical professional if this occurrs.
Does anyone have any insight into this? I am concerned about going back onto the meds if this is the kind of reaction I will get.
I was told by my naturopath to avoid vinegar or anything like that either topical or ingestion as parasites thrive on this. Epson salts are alright. My skin flakes like crazy every time I do a round of medication but no rash. The flaking is part off the die off process.
I don't know what they're talking about, because vinegar alkalinizes your body, and parasites can't live in an alkaline environment. I found that ACV killed TONS of my cutaneous strongyloides when I applied it topically. They just came pouring out of my skin, because they hate the vinegar.
Die off of parasites can cause a release of fungal hyper-toxins. Effects can vary according to what the population or "worm load" was in your system. I was prescribed fluconazole for a couple days to take after the round of antihelmenthic drugs. I don't know what your situation is, but it helped me a lot.
