Grow it! Just like old-world musicians/carpenters grew the wood for their instruments and creations...knowing everything about the herb 'from seed to powder' will open our eyes to greater potential & possibilities.
Use it! I used to DESPISE anything 'hot' (it wasn't the flavor, it was the 'burn' that I hated). After I started using cayenne therapeutically, I found myself adding teeny-bits to the food I made. And now Rocky n' I both LOVE cooking & eating foods we never would have even tried (Thai & Indian curries, dipping sauces, salsas, etc). Sometimes now it's almost like 'salt' used to be...without it, the food is just missing something it really needs. Only now it's my body that craves it, and NOT my burned-out-taste-buds wanting it.
Practice it! Play with it! Create new uses! How about a 'soft' (softer/gentler than a full-on Cold sheet treatment) herbal bath combination with Cayenne...as a pre or post soak combined with hot/cold showers?
There are 'food chemist chefs' that alter the taste of foods by having you eat things in a certain order. Hmmmm, wonder what happens to the taste of "xyz" after 1/8th teaspoon of cayenne powder. That might make for a VERY fun & interesting experiment!
'Got unwanted critter-varmits around your house? - I'd bet a good sprinkling of cayenne would help them in their choice to move to a new location!
Share it! Take lil' bottles, fill 'em up with cayenne tincture or powder, print off 'the cayenne interview files', wrap them up and give them as 'bonus gifts' whenever you're giving a gift. Just imagine how many people could be turned on to Natural Healing just from reading those interviews (especially if they use it & see it stop bleeding)! Now there's some unlimited potential for changing the world! :)
That's my idea of 'mastering' :) Anybody else with any 'cayenne possibilities or innovations'?
I really think you nailed it, Uny, with the part about giving it away, in its various *learned* forms. That's at the centre of the mastery, as I see it: growing a perspective of coming to view others as just extensions of yourself makes "you" greater, and others, also. (And others are, for real, just 'a part of one's self', because they are our best, kindest teachers- no matter what their role!)
This reminds me of Ama, the "hugging Saint", who's hugged millions of people; whispered in their ears, planted a seed. :-) Someone asked her if she ever got tired of all this. People would mob her, and just endlessly be wanting. She was just saddened by the asker's genuine puzzlement.
She said, "you don't understand. You think your body ends here", (points to her fingertips, and takes in the whole form), "but I know others ARE like my fingers - they are a PART of me". That really affected me. I read this, and then I went to a performance/installation piece, which included
a heap of rice grains to represent the number of hugs Ama has given.
Nothing affects like a good visual image. Esp, one so beautiful and SIMPLE as little grains.
This particular heap, in a large gallery space, along with other heaps that in total, represented "all the people in all the world", in various groupings, was THE most compelling heap! :-) It drew me right in, with a unique energy. I was assured, by the people who cared for the rice, that it was going to be carefully cleaned at the end, and put to a good use, being given away. ( I had some ideas...) This was a lovely show, by the way, and toured various countries.
I'm thinking how a home-made balm, like the gardener's balms that people so need, would be a great intro to Natural methods. Lotsa Cayenne in with the beeswax, and oils, with a little honey. Maybe some rosewater..mm
I'm playing with some stuff of late called "spoon butter", ostensibly for buttering up the wooden spoons and such. I'm using it instead for my heels and elbows, and even for my hair, when I want to dress it that way.
"Stop Judging. Celebrate everything. Yes, even your disease. It is your blessing."
and
"The First step in natural healing is RESPONSIBILITY. Natural Healing is about taking control of your life and being responsible for everything that goes in and out of your body, mind and spirit."
Until we own these 2 statements healing will never occur.
Imagine how that would look in a lovely carved script, on the edging of one of those pond-pools, at a Natural Healing spa for the New Millenium. We used to talk about the Millenium and how utterly new it would be, ( ha, sounds retro now, this was pre 9/11) but it seems to me it's 2012/13 that are the NEW turning (A stratospheric shift, for the good, imv)
I started taking the intestinal formulas today and told my husband I think I can feel the cayenne in my skin. lol It's not uncomfortable or aggravating, it actually feels interestingly refreshing. lol
And, as I get need more tinctures, etc, I think if I could only just make one myself..just ONE..which would it be, and then I watched one of DS's DVD's and he said that very thing, and then you post it!
Well, maybe we could 'help' each other to make just that one.
And I love that you mention to GROW it..experiment with it..powders, baths..gifts.
I started reading (on my Kindle) a foraging book by John Kallas and he says the same thing. KNOW the plants - from seed to maturity. Recognize it when it's healthy and when it is stressed. Only then will you know how it should and shouldn't be and experience it all.
If you are now watching the SYL videos you should have seen DS make a Cayenne tincture. See how easy it really is! LOL... Go buy some peppers and some vodka. Blend them together and wait or not! Then harvest and enjoy the spicy fruits of your mild labor.
Worse thing thats going to happen is it is too spicy or not spicy enough. Either way it is still better than nothing! Like nike use to say... Just Do It! :o)
Yes, I did see that but didn't know that was all there was to it. I just thought he was showing us how he blends it up. I didn't see any straining, pressing or anything, so I figured there was more to it.
Yes his version was the easy version. Put it in a jar for 2 weeks shaking it daily. Next strain it through cheese cloth or other natural fabric finally store it in jars for use.
Its all very simple in the end. And once you do it 3-4 times it all seems to come naturally. ;o)
Read the Tincture FAQs & ask questions BEFORE you start :)
There are something things you can't learn to do without jumping in and doing them (like baking bread :). Start small, armed with all the info in the FAQ's, and you'll do GREAT!
It is certainly my favorite herb - and both myself and my partner Luella May recommend it more than any others in our articles, posts and emails. One example, where you also find the same Schulze quote, is:
