I believe not touching them EVER AGAIN is the answer! Watch me each day on my blog go through this! I have a million pictures a videos...I need support, and I have the answer to cure these horrid peeling lips!
Your work is a very good point, it enables to make people known this lips condition with a blog very well provided and I would like to thank you about that!
Like you, my condition may have truly started by using of chapstick -maybe mixed with others very minor factors- and from that moment I did not be able to stop and I was dragged into that spiral of chemicals during almost two years.
What I am very sure about is chemicals had seriously deteriorated my condition, and once I just stopped using whatever chemical about more than two months ago my lips were very horrible.
Today, my lips are not healed yet of course but I am already so greatly pleased of not depending on chemicals all the day, each day, morning as evening.
Today, I am completely independent of that stuff and, casually, it is a huge burden from which I split up!
Hey bra keep up the good work hope your lips get back to normal! just wanted to say your not the only one going through this shit as you know! though i am trying a similar theory to yours as keeping the lips dry! i only shower my whole body once a week! and i brush my teeth only twice a week! im also eating healthy exercising and doing other stuff but i wont go in to detail! just wanted to say hey! im around same age as you so i know your pain! i cant believe your still going to work though i had to quite to much pressure that i didnt want on my mind! im on week 2 of completely leaving them dry been doing the diet thing for about 1 month! the thing i hate about keeping them dry is the top lip splits all the time when i eat and try to laugh! so much pain! anyways your a brave brave man! im going to do this theory for 3-12 months and plan on seeing remarkable improvements between weeks 8-12 ill keep you updated good luck man!
JSL, keep doing what you're doing. This is definitely the right route (I'm not positive of the effects of getting them wet really but I guess it couldn't hurt to leave them dry). I'm going to make a post as soon as I'm fully healed and I think I'm getting very close. It's all just a matter of time. because it's a slow healing process. Thanks for staying positive.
This may seem obvious, but have you tried the basics like increasing water intake? Or increase intake of good fats, i.e., coconut oil, fish oil, avocados, flaxseed oil? I found they really helped in preventing my lips from drying out constantly.

Hey, my name is Ravi. I finally got rid of my Acne after suffering for 7 years (tried and failed with many so called 'cures'). Want to know how I did it? It's all thanks to Jay over at: http://www.GetRidOfYourSpots.com
Hey there! Just wanted to say thank you for your message! I just saw it...this forum is really weird so it's hard to see replies...I have to dig for some reason. Anyways, I'm so happy to hear you've found the motivation to start your healing process! Since I have started 10 weeks ago my lips feel so much better!! They may not "look" better, but I can tell my body is so much happier without me picking them all of the time....so I know it's working.
If you like please stick with me on my website or youtube, link is at http://www.cureforpeelinglips.com
so I don't get lost in this confusing forum...lol. I love seeing others and all the support is so helpful! Also there is a facebook group I can add you to if you would like, just add me on facebook, link is on my site and I'll put you in the group!
yes going to work is seriously difficut, but I have no choice...luckily my job is on the phones (which I may hate, but thankful in the same way) so I don't actually see my customer's face to face, just my co workers. Everyone is very supportive, and they don't really say anything...I just keep thinking to myself, "I'm here to heal myself!! Not please anyone else! I shouldn't have to harm myself to get anyone's approval! And anyways I'm not even friends with most of these people anyways...so what does it matter. And plus no one will ever remember me going through this after I am healed, I will...but they won't"
SO just chug through it buddy, I have a feeling my "cure" if you stick with they very strict not getting them wet routine will cure you faster than others who have taken years. We shall find out!
hey daniel
yeah i watch your web page every 2-3 days to check to see if you have updated! well done on the page bro your very brave!!! im on struggle street atm my lips are so crusty and dry i can barely move them! and my progress had a little set back because like yourself i sleep on my stomach! dribble came one night and my lips stuck together so had to rip them apart and they were bleeding now there is so much puss its rediculous although im still very pleased with some progress on parts of the ec. i do believe keeping them dry is the way but i do know 3 people that have cured ec most of them did keep there lips very dry but they also did shower every 2-3 days the one thing they all had in common! stop touching and picking there lips and didnt put anything on them so were definately on the right track! im on i think day 12 and still havent gone through my first peel but unlike you i am completely letting them fall off by them self! anyways im feeling your pain! but i know we can beat this! good luck keep in contact keep up the web page!
Hey :) that makes me feel so good to read that! I really appreciate you checking back often. Yeah I post a least once a week, I am planning on doing a video tonight to show some cool progress I have made! I noticed the liquid staying inside my lips for a few days and they feel amazing like the best they have felt since I started healing and even before then...I'll talk about it in my video.
Do you lips look worse than mine? And I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with the sleeping thing too :( that must have hurt!! The only thing I can suggest is to try your best to sleep at least on your side with your head tilted up and your mouth open...that will give you the best results if you can't sleep on your back.
Just to note if I remember corretly it took my lips about 5 weeks before they first peeled. And you can let them come off on their own if you like, however once you see that the skin underneath has already hardened and the layer on top is just sitting there doing nothing you'll probably take it off...I just couldn't handle the embarrassment lol...
Let me know how everything goes!! I'll keep my page updated :)
Hey Daniel, let me start by saying I admire your bravery in putting yourself out there in order to help others heal from this condition. I've had it for about a year and a half, but I'm almost healed. I've been leaving them alone for the most part (except I do get them wet ) for six months. My peeling was not as severe as yours, but still considered to be quite severe by most doctors I saw. Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that you are on the right path and that it is a very SLOW process. If I'm correct, you're on week ten now, so I think you've got a good chunk of time ahead of you, but stay the course because I'm confident you will keep seeing steady improvement. Also, I have a question for you. I noticed in your videos that you have a semi-circular scar in the middle of your upper lip. I also have this and this area was actually the first to start peeling (my upper lip no longer peels). Can you relate? Oh, and my condition was triggered by a toothpaste I was using. I'm fairly sure it was allergic dermatitis. Thanks
yeah I had it for nearly double the time you had it plus a year I would guess. I think I hit around 4 years, so you can imagine the damage that has to be rebuilt! Did you ever take any pictures? I would love to see how they are looking after six months for you. And thanks so much for the reassurance, it def helps keep me motivated :)
Yes I'm on week 10...I'm really excited to see how they look after this next peel, it feels like they have healed so much the past week and a half...we shall see. I'm also really hoping my "no-water" approach will speed up the healing process as compared to others, but we shall see!
As to the answer to your question, I actually don't have a scar at all, the circular line you see is actually the separation between the normal part of my lips and the peeling lips. If I were to take off the "dead skin" there would be no line and no scar. So all it has to do is heal and it will appear normal again. Just like the line on the bottom of my lip where the normal part connects to the peeling part. And sorry to hear that toothpaste caused your condition :( it was chapstick for me :(
I have vowed to never use any kind of product like that again....only natural stuff and only on occasion. I feel so much better after ridding myself of all of those chemicals it's pretty amazing. A lot of good has come out of my peeling lips, so I'm thankful for the knowledge I've gained.
