Its me again, wanted to post a few of my numbers and ask for some serious advice.
Here are my blood work numbers:
Albumin 4.6
Calcium 9.5
Creatine 1.0
Potassium 4.0
Sodium 140
ALT 42
Protein Total 7.1
Carbon Dioxide 29
Chloride 100
Albumin / Globulin Ration 1.8
BUN / Creatine Ratio 9.4 (THIS IS LOW)
Globulin 2.5
My ND only as me taking 4 Isocort pills in the a.m. and 2 at noon. I dont think this is nearly enough! What do you guys think? My numbers seem really low. I also was taking Klonopin so these numbers have to be somewhat skued too. What is the relation of the new Isocort with Cortex? Does anyone know? I feel like I should be taking A LOT more Isocort then just 6 total pills a day with these numbers. I'm going NUTS because at night I feel good, cause my numbers seem normal but during the day I feel horrible. I want to be more aggressive, its been 3 weeks of taking isocort and I dont feel much.
Anything to help would be great! I kind of want to jump to 6 to 7 Isocorts at 7 a..m. then do 3 to 4 at noon.
The thing that I find weird is that the reference range for my cortisol is the following:
Morning:7 to 10 (mine 5.8)
Midday: 3 to 6 (mine 2.5)
Evening: 2 to 4 (mine 1.8)
Night: < 1.5 (mine (2.5)
Do different labs have difference ranges as to what ranges we should be in? I mean, in this case I'm not too far off but when I compare it to others I'm wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy low.
My doctor has me taking Phosphatidylserine at night. Which is the samething? I'm taking 300mg. I'm really thinking about earthing! I saw the post the other day and may just buy the set. I just read not to take sephiros with an adrenergic agonists which remeron is. I take my remeron at night and my PS at the sametime. Hmmm..... Thoughts?
My sleeping is getting much better. I wake maybe 2 or 3 times but before it was HOURLY and at one point ZERO sleep. I think mostly due to sugar issues. But I'm going to give a few supplements a try like another poster mentioned. My dreams are not as intense and vivid, I was dreaming and remembering all of them, now I don't remember my dreams but know I've had a dream. Which I think is a good sign that my sleep is starting to normalize. My anxiety has been much less but I think the Remeron is helping with that.
My ND increased my Isocort to 6 in the a.m. and 4 in the p.m. but I find that now I feel overly stimulated? Example: I take the isocort and WHAM I feel like I drank 90 cups of coffee and become super hyperaware. I'm noticing that my puppils are now not constricted like they were before, meaning, they are actually larger in dim lit rooms instead of constantly small. They seem to also be evening out in size. Before one would be bigger then the other. My biggest energy / fatigue happens in the afternoon but after 6 I feel like 10000000 bucks! I feel like right now if I can just get my day time under control and noon that I will be home free. But that is the thing...............I no longer know if I'm taking too much isocort or if its the B vitamins that are stimulating.....I do know that today was the first day I didnt have an afternoon crash although I feel pretty tired now. My morning waking temp has been 97.4 but it gets up to 98.4 by 3 p.m.
I actually found a Yoga place near my house that also has meditation, but I really need to learn to do it on my own. I really can't stand still; how long did it take for you to get it down?
As for "Your gas pedal is stuck down (sympathetic dominant) and any fuel gets burned up quickly/"
YES! This is me! I have always been this type but I think the anxiety / PTSD when my Dad passed away is what did me in. I used to run 7 days a week, 1/2 marathons, work out all the time, was confident, had energy for days, slept well, felt young and full of life. I did everything by the book; ate well, optomistic. A "cooper type"....excelled at everything but looking back I really have always been on the edge. I have always had that 'extra' fat around the waist that never melted away and after reading its always been a sign of high cortisol. (all the working out was probably doing me a little more harm then good.) Now, I need to slowly get better so I can go back to running. It was my passion. I was running half marathons close to hour and half. Just incredible that in 5 months I have crashed so badly. I feel like right now its my chance to turn things around and since this hasn't been a year long battle just yet, I have a chance to make it right quicker. I just wish I would have worked on my mind long ago.......lesson learned.
I'm actually hoping that once my adrenals kick in that my body will start to clean house; parasites, candida, toxins, etc will start to get their a$$es kicked. I'm eating well, taking supplements but know in the end that my body can and will do what it needs given the opportunity to.
I just want that "Your gas pedal is stuck down (sympathetic dominant) and any fuel gets burned up quickly/" to go away soon. Does this happen once the cortisol is normalized?
ok. This will be hard for you to accept....it was for me. I used to compete in triathalons, mountain bike, downhill ski, play tennis and racquet ball. I was an exercise maniac.
On the weekends, I used to exercise literally all day long. Bike to gym, lift weights, play racquet ball after lifting weights, bike home. Then go play tennis. I felt like a machine like you described and there is a reason for that (explained)
Excessive exercise is one of the causes of stress that resulted in your condition. Anything more than gentle exercise is a source of stress. It is not just mental activities that cause stress.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epinephrine “adrenaline concentrations in resting adults are normally less than 10 ng/L, but may increase by 10-fold during exercise”
Just like I had to finally accept, you need to move to more gentle forms of exercise. Your days of doing ½ marathons may be over. You just won’t be able to calm your nervous system down with the high level of stimulation that happens with intense exercise.
