I have read about Himalayan salt brine working for people with all lung ailments. I'm wondering where you get Himalayan salt from organic health food store, regular grocery store. Also what you do with it how much you use. Also how long does it take for improvements(even if they are little). Because I need to "pass" a pft(pulmonary functions test) for the military. I'm at low 80% and the doctor said I may have borderline obstructive lung disease no inhaler prescribed. I'm desperate for help. Also i get heart burn more than twice a week, acid shoots up and out of my mouth, heartburn more frequent upon exercise.(i think this may cause asthma symptoms)
Also heard about oil pulling does it help what oil to use how many times a day.
Also what is a good natural bronchodilator
I hate to add this in i need immediate cure/relief then after my pft take/do something long term.
Thanks
my PEF's are any where from 590-690+
Oxygen level in my blood is 100% does that sound like asthma?
I'm not sure how well Himalayan salt works, but you should be able to get it an an organic food or supplement store and it is available from any number of sources online.
What may help you are the supplements mullein and lobelia. Both are broncho dialators and both may be taken internally as well as taken via a nebulizer. You also should be able to find mullein tea at health food stores and perhaps at your grocers. Manuka honey is often good for asthma. For more info, see:
Some things which might help your acid reflux/GERD:
Don't lie down until at least three hours after eating.
Sleep with your head at least eight inches higher than your stomach to let gravity help keep stomach acids from coming up into your esophagus.
Don't bend over or do exercises until long after eating.
Eat dried figs, fresh pineapple*, and dried or fresh papaya. These foods are loaded with digestive enzymes. Or you could take digestive enzymes in capsule form. *Pineapple will help most people, and it bothers some - if it bothers you, eliminate it from your diet.
I had acid reflux and upper respiratory problems (along with a hypothyroid condition) until I started drinking Xango Juice. I have had amazing success with it in a very short period of time. My acid reflux was gone immediately and even though I have only been using this since December 2011,I really feel like a new person. And it worked FAST. Email me if you want to know more. carole@xangolove.com
Here is a post from someone else who loves the juice:
4/22/2012 -- Tanya from PE
I have been taking mangosteen (Xango) juice now for about 3 months and have noticed within a few days that my energy level had increased. I have always suffered from lower back pain and now I feel great, no pain. I drink (1oz) 2-3 times a day and haven't had so much as a cold or headache since taking the juice. I was taking medication daily for Acid Reflux and stopped taking it within a few days of starting the juice. I also suffered from alleregies, cats, dust, and seasonal allergies. All allergies are gone now! If you have seasonal allergies you know it controls your life, watery itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing, problems breathing, it drains you mentally and emotionally. I am so glad I deceided to give this amazing juice a try. It has changed my quality of life! I also starting using the Favao weightloss system and have been seeing great results. I feel the need to share these wonderful product with everybody!
Obviously this is a product pitch. But it seems possible to me that mangosteen could be useful for asthma.
I tried drinking mangosteen juice several years ago and noticed that it revved my system and metabolism to an almost scary level. So I tried drinking it before tennis one time and was shocked at how my lung capacity, endurance, quickness, etc were increased. I easily beat someone that normally beat me because of his better fitness level and conditioning.
Since then I take Mangosteen in pill form that I can easier keep in my sports bag. It does everything the liquid does. And whether tennis or racquetball my results are always vastly improved. Only problem is, when I play at night the mangosteen fires the system so much that it can be hard to get any sleep for hours and hours afterwards.
Anyway, long story long, but though I'm not asthmatic myself, I can see the potential in trying mangosteen if you are - just nowhere near bedtime.
You are right - your GERD could be causing pulminory problems.
Firstly, immediatly change the way you eat your food. Food combining (Natural Hygiene) is not a myth. It works. It will work for you within DAYS if you follow the rules.
Secondly, I have had real problems with my lungs and the one thing that works very fast is NAC - N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine. But they are not all created equal and the one I find most effective is JARROW N-A-C Sustain. It is a bylayer tablet and gives you a longer, sustained supply.
Three: Himalayan salt sole (brine) is easy to make. In a jar put in a layer of Himalayan salt crystals to the one-third point. Top up with good spring water. You can also use distilled water. Shake the bottle a couple of times at intervals. Sit in a warmish place overnight. There must be crystals left, undisolved, as you are going for saturation point. Now add 1-2 teaspoonfuls to a glass of water first thing in the morning.
