It has been 6 months with the complete nutritional balancing program using Endo-met supplements. I have been on the grass-fed red meat, organic chicken, wild caught fish, veggie, egg diet(primal diet) for the past 9 months. Carb intake is between 50-100gms per day. This can be tracked using http://www.fitday.com.
I felt much improvement when I quit cheese and raw egg whites(high histamine). For the summer now I will replace the soup with a big organic salad and some animal protein. It is getting too hot here to have the soup. I cheat once per month and have icecream or chocolate. It is the treat of the month. My diet looked like this.
Sample Day
Breakfast- Hot blended egg drink made with
2 large egg yoks
1.5 cups of hot 24 hour bone broth Sea Salt
Lunch- 3 cups of 24 hour bone broth soup loaded with non starchy vegetables and lots of grass fed organic hamburger. This is more like a stew.I have this almost everyday.
Supper- 6-8 oz of meat, poultry or salmon,
2 cups of cooked veg
2 cups of salad
3 tablspn of homemade dressing
The hypoglycemia is a thing of the past. I eat my evening meal at 5pm and do not need to eat again until 11am or 12am the following day. No more low blood sugar reactions. I eat 3 meals per day with no need for snacks.
My digestion is good now. I increased the GB3 and take 2 with each meal. My body temperature is higher. I feel warm and not chilled anymore. Sleep begins at 9 or 10 and I get up at around 7. Good solid sleep. Mood is bright and optimistic.
I have had an amazing 2 weeks straight. My energy is way up and I have this deep inner calm and feeling of wellness. I have returned to brisk walking for 45 min/6 days per week and feel great. This will be the true test for me as excercise usually causes me to crash after a month or so. So I am interested to see if I can continue.
I have also increased my sups to 3 times per day. Previously I could only handle twice per day. This includes 4 limcomin per day. The first 5 months were filled with lots of detox and healing reactions but things have finally turned around. I will be sending in my second retest in about 4 weeks and will post the results then. So if you are struggling hang in there because this has really worked miracles for me.
It is nice to have a life again with some gardening, socializing, part time work and of course household duties.
Thanks so much for this full report! It's helpful.
Can you tell me again, did you start in a 4 lows pattern?
And did you ever have insomnia when you started?
Are you taking any adrenal support supplements at this point?
So glad you are doing so well!
Yes I was in the 4 low pattern when I started. These were my numbers.
Calcium- 21
Magnesium- 2
Sodium- 2
Potassium- 1
After 4 months I was out of the 4 low pattern.
Now I am on
adrenal endo-dren 1-1-1
limcomin 2-2-2(i take 4 or 5 per day)
paramin 1-1-1
Megapan 1-1-1
Cat's claw 2-2-2
Regarding sleep. If I felt wired and tired I drank a tea from Mountain Rose called Fidnemed Nighttime. It could drop a horse. Has lemon balm, skullcap, hibiscus & hops, valerian root, passionflower and lavender. Usually I was so exhausted I didn't need it and slept like the dead. Lately because I don't nap I am really ready for bed and fall asleep right away.
Thanks for the update. Very encouraging to hear of such great progress. Are you working with a practitioner or directly with ARL? Does your program include just the diet and supplements or are you also doing other things to detox like saunas or coffee enemas as some practitioners suggest? Thanks.
Yes I am just doing the primal diet with the recommended supplements.
I never did the sauna's or coffee enemas. However when the detox was bad I often did a large plain water enema. This often gave me huge relief. The enema water was often bright yellow. Not sure why but I usually felt much better afterwards.
I am so happy I could help...it has helped me greatly!!!!
It had to do with your dedication to healing, with out that you'd be back at square one...Please keep us posted on how you are doing, it may help someone else...Thanks!!!!!
Onwards,
I loved reading this update! Makes me so happy and encouraged to hear about other people healing from AF:). I eat a similar diet, mostly primal and some grain free treats. I'm wondering about the egg white thing. I don't eat a lot of raw whites but I do have them here and there. What alerted you to the fact that you were having a histamine reaction?
I learned about the high histamine foods here on the forum. Laughingdogs often mentioned this and finally one day I decided to do a little research. The only 3 high histamine foods that I was eating were the cheese, kefir and raw egg whites every day in my breakfast smoothie. Once these were eliminated I noticed a dramatic improvement.
When I eat purely primal I feel amazing. Just meats, fats, veggies, eggs and nothing else.
Once these were eliminated I noticed a dramatic improvement
When you say that could you please describe the symptoms you had that got better when you went lower histamine in terms of diet?
What I'm struggling with most is digestion and dizzyness, so anything I can learn to help with that and my AF would love to hear it. I am also pursuing nutritional balancing so when you say that ou could only do twice a day, I am again interested in hearing what symptoms you would experience if you exceeded that dosage. Thank you !
When I quit the high histamine foods completely I experienced a dramatic increase in energy. That was basically the only change I felt.
When I changed my diet over to completely primal and began taking a digestive with each meal my digestion really improved. I also had very severe periods of dizziness before I started the nutritional balancing. I'm sure this was due to my very low sodium/potassium levels. I have not experienced the dizziness for quite some time.
The first 5 months of nutritional balancing were filled with lots of detox and healing reactions. That is why I could only tolerate the supplements twice a day. I experienced metallic taste, headaches, migraines, weight gain, skin rashes, boiles, mouth sores, intestinal pain, extreme fatigue, muscle aches, anxiety, flu like feeling etc. I also retraced some childhood trauma and a car accident. These symptoms would come and go. Sometimes with great intensity.
I have had about 3 really good weeks with the best energy I have had in years. I would highly recommend the nutritional balancing with the low carb diet. I eat 50-100 gms carbs per day.
That is extremely clear and helpful. It is so encouraging to hear from someone that much further down this road who has experienced good results.
Could I ask just one more question which is how did you figure out ... I guess again what were your before and after symptoms, that two GB3s were helping w each meal? I'm on essentially primal diet but not able to tolerate nearly as much in the way of cooked veggies right now without the cramping you described above. No grains at all. Taking the Dr. Ohira probiotic as of three days ago to see if that will help and doing one GB3 with each meal. I am on the same regime as you just without the Cat's piece. And I have rhemannia from my LAC.
I think I'm three lows, mixed oxidizer, main challenge right now is sodium potassium ratio is 0.62/1. When 2.5/1 is the ideal.
The consultant at ARL thought the increase in GB3 might help with all of the detox I had been going through. The GB3 really helps the liver to let go of excess copper. One other detox reaction I have had is constipation which comes and goes. The increase in GB3 has helped lots. Dr. Wilson in his articles says that he presribes 1-3 GB3 per meal so I knew this was ok.
My experience with the nutritional balancing has been really up and down. Don't be alarmed if you start to feel worse. This just happens.
Cooked vegetables have never been a problem for me. The intestinal pain was not related to foods. I suspect it was more from detoxing metals and old drug residues.
You said" And I have rhemannia from my LAC". I don't know what this means?
LAC= licensced acupuncturist I think. Woirking with Theresa Vernon and a local acupuncturist in tandem.
Sorry to be confusing. Rhemannia (sp?) is a chinese herbal approach, my understanding is that while they call it a Yin Tonic (everything in traditional Chinese Medicine is a metaphor, I am finding) the actual action in the body is to help extend the Cortisol that you do have. Cause I don't have much right now!
Yes, I'm taking two Limcomin per meal. That is, when I can take the full program. I've had some times so far where I have had to drop back or take a break. Again, I'm taking exactly the same dosages of the same things except not the Cat's Claw.
Onwards,
Curious what you mean when you say you retraced a childhood trauma and a care accident? I had a period last fall where I went was really struggling w/ some childhood fears that I hadn't experienced for YEARS. I'm wondering if that was a retracing as I don't have the struggle at all now. If it isn't too personal can you share a little of how that was and how you knew it was retracing?
The retracing for me follows a very distinct pattern. First a memory will surface followed by strong emotions and physical pain.
I smashed up my nose very badly in the car accident. I had the memory with strong emotion followed by nose pain. The pain started on one side and then the bridge ached and then the other side. My nose actually swelled up. This lasted for 4 days. My longest retracing.
The childhood trauma began with the memory and very strong emotion. This only lasted one full day. I too have completely dealt with ALL of my childhood traumas.
I also suffered a concussion after being thrown from a horse. I had a migraine and severe neck pain. That only lasted 2 days.
When these occur I just take a couple of days off from the supplements. Each time I have gone through this I feel better and stronger. Dr. Wilson recommends a few things but mainly to just observe them. They are scary at the time but easy to deal with when I understood what was going on.
Guess I'm in trouble because I had three head injuries in a short period of time, including getting hit by a car, when I was a kid...don't really want to relive that one but I'll do whatever it takes to get better.
From a retracing standpoint, the only thing I've noticed is that in my dreams I've revisited some emotional events (such as the death of a grandparent) and felt better emotionally afterwards. But I think I'm a ways away from having physical relief or having a retracing as clearly physical as you describe above.
So helpful again that you're sharing your experience, many thanks.
Just reviewed this thread, was wondering if you could share the recipe of the bone broth you mentioned above or if you follow one online could you pls provide the link? Many thanks in advance.

Feo- When you say you have sky high copper do you mean that is what is showing up on your hair analysis? I remember the interview with Teresa Vernon saying that her copper was high for almost 2 years. So maybe you are dumping lots of copper which is a good thing.
That's so encouraging Onwards. You and Indianagirl are the reason I decided to try this program so thanks for all the support. I would have been lost without you.
