it is the statistics which are played with. the average went way up when infant mortality went down. we are lot living longer, we are living shorter and more painful lives every year, and it is going to get much worse, soon.
From a theoretical/metaphysical standpoint the human body has the potential for immortality - a supposedly "long" life of one hundred and twenty years is far, far removed from the blissful, eternal existence we are all perfectly capable of.
There is no way on this earth that the current mortality rate is 77.6 years! One has to wonder exactly who these "officials" are. Disease and plague are rampant like never before (albeit under many guises), the only difference between "now" and "then" is that the majority exist in a perpetual state of drug-induced apathy, complacence and virtual non-existence.
The one hundred and twenty year existence refers to the second age of man (at best); this age heralded the dawn of deceit, gluttony and sexual depravity. It is somewhat harsh to state, but those insisting on over-feeding their degenerate selves can never expect to live a long, prosperous life (and they are hardly deserving of it). This is where something such as Breatharianism is so fascinating; for the intracellular waste that is the chief obliterator of humanity can not exist: the primary cause of "aging" and subsequent death is removed, leaving only environmental pollution for the timeless body to contend with...a pollution that will surely wane come the shift in consciousness that we all await.
Whether the life-expectancy in 1929 was fifty-three years or not is largely irrelevant; the farther back in time one chooses to look, the more innocent the people one must witness, and in my opinion there is certainly beauty in naivety pertaining to certain matters.
I lament contending with others over facts and figures and mortality rates for then and now. The average ingrate in the street assumes time began two thousand years ago and never once stops to ponder all that came before; entering into discussion with those who display this mindset is shown to be futile, time and time again.
However, I have rambled on enough. I only hope that something I have suggested makes at least one other view existence from a slightly different angle, or at the very least, that my "opinions" are somewhat coherent. This discussion could be most interesting, as it is clear to me in which way it is headed...

Regarding your numbers, all I can say is figures lie and liars figure. As far as immortality and longevity my guess if you want a long life is, turn off your TV, do NOT watch the news and do most everything MH teaches, get slim, get clean internally, debug, detox and read Mony Vitals book ageless living to deprogram death command from your cells and biocomputer.

I remember when I was 21, I was having a chat with a co-worker (in his 40's) about the wonderful progresses made by modern medicine.

We have been caged over the millinium(s) to think that we can only have less than a hundred years, while in fact, we are entitled to so much more if we can free ourselves from self-limiting thoughts and poisons.
So for me, statistical average means nothing. I have already decided to be neither one of the statistics nor the average, and I am sure people who are in this forum regularly have made the same choice too. And with this kind of consciouly awakening, maybe the maximun life expectancy of humankind will finally go up again.
did you not notice the story by dr. hay about the natives in south america that lived to be 250 and youthful, all documented by the english army??? and note that age 250 they could not die unless they commited suicide by jumping off a mountain.

In our area there is one large MASON mansion on the hill with a custom made water tower in the shape of an eye with the eye painted on it. The local Masons say all their orders come from this central place and they would receive their orders from Europe, etc. I believe the local Masons other than the corrupt judges/lawyers/cops have not got a clue as to what they are apart of, other than it makes them feel better than the average person and they benifit $$$ wise.
