For anyone who has had a lip biopsy, did it cause more damage than good. My dermatologist suggested I get one, but if this is caused by trauma to the lips, I figured that them cutting into my lip would make it worse. Let me know ASAP please.
I haven't had one, but my derm also suggested to get one done. She said it will not do much damage, and will also heal pretty good. I will probably get it done in a couple of months or so, if the "leaving them alone" trick doesn't make my lips heal. She said that she might diagnose an isolated form of psoriasis.
all the people who got a lip biopsy done, had no real results. if anything "hyperkeratosis" was diagnosed and i think we already know that by now.
i wouldn't do it.
you guys should defs have a lip biopsy done. i get admitted into hospital this week and the first thing there doing is taking biopsy's of my lips two infact one on the top one on the bottom also inside my cheeks and also one biopsy inside my noise. your lips will heal from a biopsy no worries. iv already had 2 done on my lips. they just want to take a deeper biopsy and to also get the biospy's better examined. were trying to figure out what the heck is causing the crusting. also doing the leave it alone method for 1 or 2 months isnt going to cut it i would give it a minimum of 6 months and if your treating it as a wound i was told by about 8 doctors that it needs daily care for example should get sprayed with a saline water or something like that to keep it clean and bacteria out. also they said that that white stuff is a form of sloath. which is similar to what people get on wounds. im going to be getting intravenously feed for several weeks. as they do believe if it is a wound it would be having so much difficulty healing due to the position of the wound and also how much movenement the wound is dealing with due to it being on the lips. also everybodies body is different ie healing time what caused ec and how to cure it. anyways just thought i would share im kinda annoyed that im going into hospital now because im on week 8 and finally starting to see results! but doesnt bother me if they cant find anything wrong with me after weeks of test i will just have to restart the leaving it alone method but this time i will have more knowledge of how to deal with wound healing. good luck guys
Im happy to hear you healed from the biopsy. I just had a biopsy, culture, and blood test done today, and I was really worried that the biopsy would cure. Why would a biopsy wound heal but this "trauma" wont heal? I think that may reveal something about EC. But I agree, I think people need to start getting things done instead of sitting around being angry that they arent healing. If you want to heal then start trying to figure out whats causing this. Its great that your going in for testing, be sure to keep us posted if you can and if not just come back when your done and share everything. Good luck.
