Hi Please can anyone add some feedback
I'm Celiac & based in the UK & have had now on numerous times Jardia Lamblia
I dont know if I keep getting re-infected or if it never goes in the first place
Today 25th of June 2012
I went to Londons Hospital of Tropical Diseases (I didnt have any great expectations however I thought I would just go to see what they say)
Again they advised that the commmon cure is Fasigyn Tinidazole... This I have taken since 2006 when ever I have had the problems.... I need clarification if this drug also kills the eggs & cysts.
The doctor advised as im Celiac that this maybe why Im not getting beter. She advised to take another douse & come back in another month & do a stool test.
I asked if this does not resolve it ( im not expecting it to get to the root of the problem as it has not in the past) The doctor said that they can try me on stronger drugs...
Im a bit concirned to be taking drugs as I get told that this can be doing more damage..
The bellow is my whole story with the past .....
Firstly I like to think i have a bit of knowledge on the basics of Parasites, however I can not get to the root of the problem
To cut a long story short I have been to south America from 2004 a few times in 2006 I stayed 7 months . I have had parasites at least 3 times out there and probably at least 3 times in the UK.
In Brazil & peru I was given some antibiotics that seemed to deal with the problem then.
In the UK I have used the Antibiotic Fasigyn Tinadazole.
When you get Parasites more than a few times I'M sure we are all used to the typical kind of symptoms ie frequent bowel movements & change of stool texture & colour etc.
When I have been to the conventional doctors in the UK when I have been ill the typical response is "its impossible to get parasites in the UK" And I think that's why its a bigger problem in this country as most doctors tend not to acknowledge there is a problem.
I know full fact that testing in the conventian stool check for eggs & cysts its very inaccurate as its all hit & miss I think lower than 20% maybe lower ??//
Anyway my more frequent experience is that I got sick & tired to the point of the parasites coming back & leaned that when you take regular antibiotics that they kill the parastiests HOWEVER THEY DON'T KILL THE EGGS OR THE CYTS ) does that sound correct ??
So back in January i was ill again had 3 stool checks the tests that came back for the parasites were negative. I then discovered the Homoeopathic route and the doctor said that I had parasite Jardia Lamblia by testing on the VEGA machine He advised me to take Paragon consisting of wormwood, blackwallnut & clove, this calmed the problem down and I felt better. I went back a month later and he said that the parasites had cleared up
As it happens I changed homoeopathic doctors i did like the other doctor however I did not understand the way he explained . I found neither homephic doctor who was recommended to me...
She did parasite tests and said I was fine . Approx 6 weeks ago I had the typical parasite symptoms I had only seen the doctor a few days before. I emailed her described my symptoms , she said I'm fine and its my bowels changing and also she believes in the emotional way. I saw her a few weeks ago and certainly nothing was mentioned about parasites. Over the 6 weeks I had my good & bad days. She also tests using a VEGA machine.
I decided just for the sake of it to provide a stool sample to the local pathology department. ( I wasn't expecting any great miracles as when I was initially ill again in January I had 3 tests & no parasites were shown, however the parasites showed up on the VEga machine.
In the mean time I asked my current homeph what the physical problem was, and she advised it was liver disturbance & to have a detox. I did know know where to begin with a detox & what I should be taking.
As it happened a week ago I took some more wormwood/black walnut remedy. Within 5 mins of taking the remedy I had a lot of bowel movements & then my stomach calmed down for the first time in the 5 weeks.
In the mean time a day ago my conventional Doctor contacted me and advised that the stool samples showed that I had a parasite again the Gadial Lamblia..
This is my main confusion why did it not show a parasite in my last vega screening as I have know had for at leas t5 weeks. When testing on a vega machine do you specifics have ot test for parasites or would they be displayed if they were present ?
Im going to keep taking the wormwood . how long would anyone advise to take for , Its very bizarre I find out yet again I have parasites from my own symptom's & not the vega screening but doing the old fashioned way the parasites displays.
Would I be right in saying that Antibiotics do NOT get to the root of the problem and will not kill the eggs. However can I finally be done with this parasites, ie how long do i need to take the remedies is there anything else I should take. And would it be more problematic to take the conentinal antibiotics ?
Also being told I have liver disturbance has that any connecting ?
so I just need to know how I get to the route of this problem, never did I used to have these issues. however is it a true facts around 90 % of people world wide have parasites ?
Very confused of where I go from here & what I trust gong forward
First very important question. Which lab gave you the Giardia diagnose
>I dont know if I keep getting re-infected or if it never goes in the first place
Maybe you are getting recontaminated from the places you go to, people or pets you live with. Maybe the food or water you are having are contaminated?
>Again they advised that the commmon cure is Fasigyn Tinidazole... This I have taken since 2006 when ever I have had the problems.... I need clarification if this drug also kills the eggs & cysts.
At this point you might want to buy some tropical disease books. TropicalBoy had a good list of books. Try to search for his list in this forum.
I think I cured my Giardia. Try to find some of my older posts. One of the meds I used against giardia that worked well was Giarlam (furazolidona). IIRC I used it for around 10 days. I explained in detail what I did in that old post... This is not the correct post but it might be helpfull http://curezone.com/forums/am.asp?i=1770253 I took furazolidona a couple of times in the last 6 years.
I think tinidazole is stronger then metronidazole tho. What dose are you taking?
I think I have cured Giardia but I could be wrong since I'm still sick. The last tests I did only showed Entamoeba histolytica so I could still be sick from Entamoeba histolytica only and not Giardia.
I took giarlam after taking amoeba medicine in 2010 and felt great for around 2 months but then symptoms returned and then I was diagnosed with Entamoeba histolytica again but not Giardia...
>The doctor advised as im Celiac that this maybe why Im not getting beter. She advised to take another douse & come back in another month & do a stool test.
Did he test you and found out you are Celiac or did he just guess?
One doctor guessed I had irritable bowel simdrome but it turned out I had Giardia and Entamoeba histolytica!!!
>I asked if this does not resolve it ( im not expecting it to get to the root of the problem as it has not in the past) The doctor said that they can try me on stronger drugs...
That is already better then many drs that think this stuff is all in peoples heads or just "stress" and don't know how to properly test.
>I have had parasites at least 3 times out there and probably at least 3 times in the UK.

If you happen to go to Brazil again there is an awesome lab in Rio - Niteroi called Labion.

Thanks to protozoas I have learned that people are pretty f***ing dumb in general... Too bad I learned the hard way :o(
Sadly the protozoas also made me more dumb but at least I'm still perceptive and critical enough to see my self... I fear that many people and drs are chasing ghost diseases because of protozoa...

I'm not familiar with Vega machines... I have done many stool parasite tests and all of them have been useless with the exception of Labion in Brazil which found Giardia and Entamoeba histolytica. There was another lab that found Giardia in Brazil by using proctoscopy called Clinica Aloysio de Carvalho also in Rio city. I'm currently getting help from an American dr called Kevin Cahil in NYC and he does siginoidoscopic examination with mucosal scraping, he has also been able to find Entamoeba histolytica.
Those are the only 3 labs I know that works and I tried many labs around the world in the past 6 years... "Clinica Aloysio de Carvalho" was able to find Giardia but not EH...
>In the mean time a day ago my conventional Doctor contacted me and advised that the stool samples showed that I had a parasite again the Gadial Lamblia..
Finding a parasite in a stool sample is like winning the lotto or getting hit by lightening... Which lab was this?
I don't know about you but at this point I don't feel confident that natural remedies help. Maybe it can help in some small cases.
Maybe pipali rasayana can work against giardia some times...
As for allopathic medicine, I understand that Quinacrine can kill giardia which are difficult to kill... Dr Wolfe in Washington DC USA seems to be the Dr to go to for difficult Giardia... Maybe you can give him a call... I never seen him but read good things http://www.martinwolfemd.com/p8.html

For a while I was only diagnosed with Giardia and then later found Entamoeba histolytica make sure you don't have something else if you kill the Giardia but still feel sick :o)
>Very confused of where I go from here & what I trust gong forward
You seem to want to try natural remedies... That has not worked for me... Maybe you might want to look for more efficient medication...
Please keep in touch :o)
All the best
