I was just wondering if anyone has had success curing FBO by eating only vegetables and drinking veg juice. It's something I have wanted to try for a long time, but don't know if I could actually stick to it for an extended period of time. Right now, my diet consists of vegetables, meat and eggs. It helps with the odor, but doesn't make it go away. I've been doing this for a long time - it's hard, and I cheat from time to time, but I've never returned to the high carb diet I used to be on.
humans arent designed to survive on vegetables alone. I doubt taking only veggies will completely reduce body odor. If you are worried about digesting proteins and things like that properly you could try digestive enzymes when you do eat those foods. that's not healthy.
I really think you are right about that. I used to have so many more health problems (hair falling out, migraines, unexplained weight loss, etc.) but since being on this diet pretty regularly, those have all disappeared. If only this blasted smell would go away, life would be normal again. Thanks for your reply.
For what it is worth, I was vegan and then raw vegan for about 5 years. Granted, I did not smell of rotten meat but 1. I didn't lose any weight (main reason I tried it) and 2. I still smelled of FBO. I went fruitarian and that actually made my stench worse. I think I have fructose malabsorbtion and the fruit and veggies kicked the fbo up. FODMAPs I have been on for about a year and if I eat too much animal fat the fbo is bad as well, but I have cut the smell down considerably with this diet. Keep a food journal and see what works best for your body. Good luck.
I wondered if fodmaps were my issue too, because I practically live off broccoli and cauliflower now, but I really don't think so, because I have no gas and bloating. If you're sensitive to FODMAPS, don't you have those issues? What do you eat if you have to avoid those, if you don't mind my asking. Thanks.
