The last two weeks my AF has been really bad. So much stress going on around me. Normally my periods are every 25 days and last about 4 days. The last 2 months they have bee every 20 days. This last cycle, I had a really bad panic attack near the end of my period. I literally was almost done. During the panic attack, I got severe menstral cramps, and my period resumed - not as heavy as a normal period, but like a light flow. It's now day 7 and I still have light cramps and light flow. No chance of being pregnant. I'm 46. I've also been having major neck problems (my atlas bone is out of wack), and it's been causing a ton of dizziness and motion sickness problems, which has been putting an enormous amount of stress on me. Too many other stress triggering things in my life to mention here. Any other women have prolonged periods when your AF is really bad? Thanks.
I know that stress can really throw off my cycle. I don't think this is unusual.
Have you considered doing the NB program?
My cycle now happens like clockwork every 28 days and lasts for 4 days. I am almost 50. I no longer really have any moodiness or cramping after being on the program for 7 months.
Nutritional Balancing with Analytical Research Labs. Many of us here are on it and healing from AF. It requires a hair analysis and then a supplement and diet program based on your results.
You can get more info at http://www.arltma.com.
They can send you a list of practitioners or you can go through Dr. Larry Wilson here
Oh ok, yes I did that years ago, not through Dr. Wilson though. Didn't do anything for me and I was on it a long time. But that seems to be par for the course with me. I know it doesn't work for everyone. I don't respond to most things, so that's not unusual for me. Thank you though.
Are you seeing an upper crevice chiropractor for your atlas? I use to see a general chiro, but the specialized ones are far more superb! Awesome results!
I suffered long periods for approx. 4 years..Went to a few specialists and they had no clue why. It would last 40 days and end and restart about 2 weeks later all over again. I read an article about low K vitamins..I started to eat lots of dark green and that did help for a few months and then it started all over again.
I was to have a procedure done that burns the inside of the uterus with a laser. I read that this will prevent you from being able to tell if you have uterine cancer. I did not have it done do to my grandma passed away in her 60's from uterine cancer. This was when I really lost faith in conventional Dr's. I told my Gynecologist (4 th one in 2 years) that I was not interested at this time to have this procedure done and reason being. She was not able to look at me and says to me, Oh by the way it could be your thyroid.....nice!
So i suggest getting your thyroid checked. And look into the vitamin K. I would say with in a month or so after all said and done, it just stopped...I was trying the dark greens and coconut oil. Not to realize it was do to the thyroid and Adrenal glands. I really no longer get my period...the past 4 years I might have gotten it 6 times and short periods. I believe I lost most of my hormones do to severe AF (conventional Dr diagnosed me with Addison's disease, my cortisol was so low with the ACTH test.) I no longer get the period I will be 48 soon.
Onwards is correct if you can do NB it has helped me greatly in the past year..I wish I knew about this a few years back, I would have never gotten so ill.
Best to you,
Marie
Ps. My cycle started to get messed up when I had a four tooth metal bridge put in my mouth and already having mercury (amalgam) fillings...this stressed my system greatly and I do believe this was a big cause of my health issues.
Hi, thanks for your reply. I am supposedly hypo, per labs I've had done, and have almost all the symptoms of it,but could never tolerate thyroid in any form. They tried me on several different kinds and they all made me horribly sick. They also made my cortisol worse. My ND gave me Iodine to take, but I haven't taken it because I've been too scared because A. of my past experiences with the thyroid meds, and this is essentially affecting the thyroid and B. because it can be such a tricky game of regulating it and getting just the right dosage. I know it sounds lame.
With regards to Dr. Wilson, is he the one in AZ? If so I did email him and he was Very rude to me. I asked him if he could help me and he essentially told he he wouldn't give me the time of day unless I bought and read his book first. This was very offputting. Regardless I did buy the book and read it and even after that he was still rude and condescending to me and told me he didn't know whether or not he would help me. I've heard some sketchy things too Bout some of his colleagues, a woman in particular? I've had my fill of doctors like that through the years and have had it with them. I also had someone on this forum tell me his products are really low quality and that essentially he's just trying to make money off his supplements. In addition to the hypo and AF, I also have other multiple health issues (Lyme, Epstein-Barr, candida, etc., to name a few), and thus needed an ND to coordinate all the treatment to make sure that there were no interaction problems. Most of these people are clueless when it comes to lyme. I'm in So. cal. Do you know of a good one in that area?
I am truly hoping this is not the same Dr...but he is in AZ. Here is his web page. I never actually worked with him, but through him with an assigned practitioner. (let me know if same.....Thanks).
Marie, I went to his website and yes, this is the same guy. I have no desire to treat with someone who was so condescending to me and acted like I was disturbing him. Why does he bother to have a website, offering his services and then act like he can't be bothered to help? I just don't get it. He told me he was basically retired and may or may to choose to help me. Gee, how big of him. Sorry, I just can't stand self-righteous people like that. I'm glad you seem to be getting some help though. Maybe you got him on a good day.
I actually never spoke to him...I guess thankfully...I may be in the same place as you...I am so sorry you had to deal with this so sad...because his protocol had helped me greatly.
I emailed to have a test kit sent to me. I sent it back and once my result were in I was assigned a practitioner who is a top student of his I have been working with.
No, just my general one. I have major neck and back problems, so I would need one who can do not just the atlas. How do I go about finding a specialist in my area?
