So I am confused, are you gys saying that if you have a vitamin D level of 24 it is saying that is all your body can handle, and if you were to take the other how would you take it, just by taking the silica? I so appreciate your feed back I read what you posted and the research but you gys are smarter than me and i am still confused, it would be so helpful if you could speak in more layman terms at least for me as it is all overwhelming trying to get what the true message is , hope this is heard with a constructive view point,
thanks Linda
I think everyone will have to make up their own minds as whether to take D3 or not. I strongly recommend one take 1 MILLIgram of K2 mk4 2 to 3 times a day also with a teaspoon of coconut oil or olive oil. And take magnesium malate and spray on some magnesium chloride too.
D3 is the only substance on Earth that has lowered my triglycerides. They were 125 the other day on my blood tests that I get every 3 months.(they were over 475)
I now take 10,000 IU's a night at bedtime as does my wife. She lost over 30 lbs in several weeks taking this high amount. I have lost a total of 25 lbs and my daughter has lost 16 lbs. I have to give her 55% less Novalog insulin when I give her 5000 Iu's of D3. My d3 level is now 60 ng's m/l. It should be near 80 on my next blood test. And I expect my triglycerides will be a little lower as well.
I have been on D3 for over 4 years now. Please read, read, read and decide for yourself is "it" right for YOU.
It is for me and my family. My wife is thrilled about the weight loss beyond measure. And I do think the Iodine played a role in the matter too. As my daughter started using less insulin after taking Iodine long before D3 came into her picture.
With care and respect,

Vitamin K2, MK-4, is used to carboxylate MGP proteins that do the calcium scavenging in arteries and soft tissues. It also seriously boosts the building of stronger bones and reduces fracture rates without making dramatic increases in BMD measurements. Taking more Vitamin D3 also increases the amount of calcium handling proteins requiring more Vitamin K2. There is research in progress to qualify Vitamin D "toxicity" as actually due to under carboxylation of the MGP and other proteins.
Calcium and vitamin D have long been identified as big players in the prevention of osteoporosis. Osteopenic changes can occur rapidly in patients after gastric bypass. However, vitamin K is a cofactor necessary for activation of osteocalcin, a hormone that allows calcium to get into bone. Insufficient vitamin K and subsequently inadequate levels of osteocalcin, could impact calcium deposits in blood vessels and even the kidney.
Both vitamin D and vitamin K deficiencies have been associated with vascular calcification in CKD patients.[51–55]
Matrix Gla protein (MGP) is vitamin K dependent. It acts as a calcification inhibitor in the vascular system. Adequate levels of MGP may play a significant role in prevention of vascular calcification.[52,53,56]
At this forum we agree in about one thing; take iodine.
Dosages, type, frequency etc differ from one to another.
When it comes to vit D, selenium and a few other things, we do not agree.
Me; I take as much sunshine as I can. I feel much better as soon as I get some, MUCH better. This summer when only rain I can feel my body craving sunshine.
In the winter I use tanning beds twice a month or something. I have had bad effects of vit D supplements before, thats why I avoid it. But it could simply be that I was low in magnesium at that time. http://www.naturalnews.com/029195_magnesium_vitamin_D.html
I never test me for anything, as it is confusing. I prefer to listen to my body, and do the actions it leads me to.
Who knows if the vit D testing basis is right? Who made these tests? Is vit D the next super med, that big pharma can make money of? The docs over here are testing vit D en masse, and loads come out low, even those who has been outdoors all summer. Why do they recommend vit D supplementation, but not sunshine without sunscreen?
That said I have deep respect for T2T and other posters that have had success with something. There is a lot more to be investigated, no one has the right answer. Except your body, IMO.
