There are lots of stories of folks experiences on the forum so I suggest that you browse the forum. Find one of Somers posts and click on "all of somers messages" she pretty much kept a diary of her epic 59 day cleansing voyage. for more info regarding the MC check out the FAQs.
Be adviced that the MC is not a "weightloss diet" unless you are comitted to the follow up of a clean healthy diet. It is as the name implies a "Cleanse". If you go back to your old eating habits you will gain the weight back and possibly more. I've included a links below with someones experience with gaining the weight back.
And see, that's my main thing...a REAL good cleanse. I have bodybuilding competition that I'm preparing for next year. So starting off on the right foot is always the best. How many days did you complete?
I have done 3 40/28/21. We recently had a national level BB competitor posting on the forum a few weeks back.
Most BB supplement pretty heavily with protein powders. From everything I've read PP put a heavy burden on the liver so you might wanna look into liver flushing also.
Below I've included a link to someones post regarding ketosis by an RN
10 days and I feel good. I didn't weigh myself but I can tell I lost about 8 lbs. I'm pretty thin as it is I didn't do it for the weight loss I did it for cleansing
Many of us have continued our exercise routines throught the MC. I didn't notice any loss of strenght while weight training. Of course I don't lift at the intensity or frequency of body builders. You could probably cut back on the intensity of your training while on the MC with no adverse effects.
You might consider doing Super Slow Weight training while on the MC. The gist of the training is that you do your reps on a slow 10 count on the positive and negative and add enought weight where you fail your 5th rep but still go throught your 10 count while pushing throught the failed rep. Theory is that you have taken the muscle to failure thus causing the microtears that the body will heal to form more muscle. Theoretically this healing takes about a week more or less so you only do your routine once a week. I was spliting upper on day and lower the next and waiting a week in between. The beauty of this system is that I could do my whole routine in under 1/2 hour and its would kick my butt bigger than any 1 1/2 to 2 hr routine doing the standard 3 sets of 10 reps for each exercise. One last thing. Form and normal breathing throughout the reps is very important in SSWT.
Like I said in a previous post I have done 3 MCs 40/28/21 days
The first one (40days) was around 2+ years ago and the beginning of a life change for me. I was around 40 lbs overweight. I lost 20lbs on that MC but I have heard of people that have lost 60+ in 40 days. These were folks were more than 100 lbs overweight. I also use to have a chronic right shoulder and wrist pain that have completely disappeared never to come back.
I did my first about a year after I had an accident where I got a serious bacterial infection requiring hospitalization and at least 6 weeks or more of antibiotics. Since they didn't identify the bacteria so they could use a specific antibiotic I got a wide spectrum antibiotic which not only killed all the beneficial bacteria it killed all the good bacteria also. That ordeal took a lot out of me and my energy levels were at an all time low. I'm a whitewater canoeist and rivers that I use to paddle with gusto were kicking my butt half way through the run I would hafta stop and catch my breath so between that and the shoulder pain it was seriously threatening my boating and I wasn't having that.
I first did a 10 day juice fast and It was a remarkable improvement still it was almost a year till I tried to do it again. While I was doing the juice fast again I started doing research on the internet and came upon Curezone and read up on the MC. I intuitively new that it was for me and after 4 or 5 days of juice fasting I just switched to the MC with the idea of going for 14 days. At 14 days I was feeling so good and had so much energy that I just kept going reassessing every 7 days. I literally had so much energy after 2 weeks that I "had to add" exercise and started riding my bike every afternoon. I stated with 6 miles then every day I would beat my previous time then I started adding miles in 1/2 mile increments. Around day 30 I went canoeing on one of my fave rivers and it was the coolest experience ever. The term "go with the flow" really took literal meaning I was in the zone just going through the rapids effortlessly with no internal problem solving dialog going on in my head.
After the 1st 40 day MC my life changed. I started working out and going to the gym 4 to 6 days a week. Casual aquaintances would pass me by sometimes and not recognize me or do double takes
and go Pepe? I'm just a different person altogether physically and mentally. My river skills have improved tremendously which is a major big plus for me.
I have also done more than 16 liver flushes to date. I also have done parasite cleanses, zapping. For over a year I ate a pristine diet, almost all raw with only an occasional cheat. I slacked off but not terribly bad for around 4 or 5 months last fall cause I injured my knee going over a 6ft waterfall. That kinda put a damper on my gym time and I kinda slowly started drifting back to my old nemesis, flour products. I have never been a caffiend but also started back to one large cup in the morning.
Over the winter I gained close to 15 lbs but I started back with my gym routine several months ago doing SSWT and did my last 21 day MC about 5 weeks ago and have done at least 3 liver flushes.
I got a weight bench and some free weights at home now and I'm enjoying working out at home in addition to the gym. The gym lately has been more for the lower body workout cause it's pretty hard to get the same work out for the lower body with free weights as you can with the machines at the gym.
As a breakfast, I really like a fruit/yogurt (natural with good culture) smoothie, prefer papaya for digestive enzymes... and take a cap of a good prob. then, each morning.
Consider adding 1 tsp. metamucil 3x per day with SMALL meals (eat LIGHT, eat CLEAN, and have patience! It takes time to reestablish digestion). Metamucil is like baby food psyllium, very gentle and will help!
Keep your intestines clean. It will take a week or so for them to be moving well on their own, so pay attention and don't let things get backed up!
Have a wonderful break--plan your post-cleanse diet NOW to avoid the pitfalls we have all been through... and keep in touch!
