There is no purpose,
There is no destiny,
There is no meaning to it, other than the meaning we give it.
Why should there be? That stuff is just for the insecure mind of the newly conscious beings called humans. They will get over it and start to embrace the present when they lose their fears.
Why write about it?
Why come to curezone?
Why work?
Why get married?

What's the purpose?
Because of our insecure minds and fears?
There's a purpose for everything.
He sounds very hopeless. No spirituality whatsoever. We humans obviously have a purpose for being here otherwise we would not a conscience. Our Creator not only gave us the breath of life, but also a sense of justice.
As far as I'm concerned, everything on this earth has a purpose in one way or another.

---This was just the sort of post that SS would have loved. Throwing anyone that believs in evolution into a bag with atheiests is wrong. They are 2 seperate issues. Many evolutional biologists are themselves religous in their private lives. One does not in any way preclude the other.

There are many people that have formed their own value judgements based on life experiences and their own morality without the need of outside religious moral dogma getting in the way. Life is it's own purpose and living its own reward. Fear of hell or the reward of heaven is not necessary in order to lead a fulfilling life.

I think we can all agree that in the animal world there is no such thing as right and wrong. Think of lions, deer, elephants, pigs and squirrels: There is no murder. There is no adultry. There is no truth. There are no lies. There is no cheating. There is no definition of RIGHT and WRONG. (Kind of like what you're advocating)
As well, in the animal world there is no real happiness, no sadness, no love, no joy, no hope, no prayers, no beliefs, no worries, no guilt! Yet somehow, we humans have these things instinctively ingrained in us! We can't just walk up to someone and kill that person for no reason and not feel guilty. (And we certainly wouldn't EAT that person after we killed him!)
But you know what? I don't believe I'm a mere animal. I believe I was CREATED in the image of God with Wisdom, Love and Purpose. I BELIEVE I have a soul that was created at the moment of my conception. And, I believe there IS a reason we humans are here. You people might think you're just a bunch descendants of knuckle-dragging, tree-climbing monkeys, but I don't. If I was just a dumb animal I wouldn't be feeling any of these emotions that I just described. I would feel NO guilt if I raped or murdered someone. I would feel no love...nothing.
Animals know by instinct that we humans are different. They sense it. As well, we humans sense that animals are different. (well most of us do). Unlike animals I accomplish more in life than simply eating, drinking, reproducing and going to the bathroom.
I thank God every night I'm here to serve Him, the One who created me wonderfully, with love and purpose. Ghost of S

Totally correct and only those who try to promote thier authority and self importance in thier otherwise meaningless life need to claim its any more then this!
They are also cheaters who take the short cut across the feild to win the marathon run. But who do they cheat ? Well only themselves!
Both of those posts are great as always Quinthius. I love your insight, examples, and distinctions you made. I agree, there is no "imposed" purpose, and there is value in that. It isn't a job, there are no right or wrong choices, and all this world and life is like a imagined play. One can just sit back and only watch the play if they like, and that's true freedom like you said. This playground we live in is for us to experience, learn and grow from, but there is still an underlying purpose in it no matter how you pursue it.
