fist time i watched the movie was today. i have been an on and off meat eater. needless to say i wont be touching meat ever again. i cant beleive some of that. its hard to comprehend how violent those people are. i bet if you asked them... they will say, "just doing my job, someones gotta do it"
i would rather die of starvation. im gonna go make a collard green salid now. i almost cried, you know then your eyes fill up with tears and all you have to do is blink it will roll down your cheek.... yeah.
I think it would be very eye opening to view that video
at the Link below posted by Lapis..
to help folks that still eat meat and animal product
(even if *only occasionaly *)
once you see and actually think on what you are ingesting
a Pus milkshake sure loses it attractiveness fast...
when a nice fresh sqeezed lemonaide, or a fruit smoothie
would nourish, cleanse, and cool you down
(meet thirst needs) much better anyhow.
fish is very toxic in mercury and dioxin.
soy is out and out criminal and so is canola!
peanut butters are rancid with molds and fungus
you can get your small amt of protein
and ess fatty acids from so many other resources.
The quality of animal meat leads to extremely poor meat period..
laden full of hormones and antibiotics and wrong foods (many animals
are fed even the floor sweepings from the horrid chicken farms.
including claws and beaks and feather and feces
ground up in cow and pig food grains.
animal meat that ends up on your table is full of dyes, preservatives
parasites , and a great many viruses.
Add to that the market one supports,
when they do participate in animal ingestion.
The horridness of the slaughterhouses/
and even dairy production farms is outrageous..
we are what we eat ..
and when we eat animal product
we also eat of the extreme cruelties inflicted on these gentle beasts.
Most animal eaters will demonstrate predator behaviors, angers, etc.
Nature did not intend for us to be meateaters
or we would have come supplied with teeth and claws for such activity .
We have hands that are shaped for gatherer food needs.
The high economic costs to keep this grotesque method of feeding humans
is way overboard!
To raise food to feed vegatarians is far less costly,
and better healthily and environmentally to our global food needs.
Yea, that is a pretty powerful and disturbing movie. However I was raised in rural Texas and I can say pretty confidently that many (even most) animals here are not mal-treated/abused like they portrait in that movie. I'm sure abuse does go on in some places. But I know many many farmers and have been in and around farms for over 20 years, and it just doesn't happen that way. In fact, most animals seem to have a very pleasant way of life while on the farm. Now having said that, I have no idea what happens at the slaughterhouse. I'm sure it's not a peaceful way to go for the animals.
I wonder how Peta feels about consuming meat that you raise on your own farm...animals that are not inhumanely treated.
I eat less meat nowdays because I believe it is a healthier way of life.
