Yes, it's me again. I have started with your protein shake recipe, as I need to gain some weight. I am doing it for breakfast. I use almond milk instead of rice milk because the large amount of carbs upsets my intestines. I also add 1 tbsp of ground flax seed and the 10 sprouted almonds. The problem is, after drinking it, I feel nauseous for a bit. Do you think it is all the fat all at once? I figured that this recipe has about 53 grams of fat (that's almost 1/4 cup). I have a poorly functioning gallbladder. I can tolerate it, but just want to make sure I am not doing more damage than good. Thanks so much.
Nausea is not a good sign. As you worked out it means too much fat. So perhaps cut down on the fat for a while, and do some liver cleansing to build up your liver/gall-bladder capacity.
Cut back on the oil, down to one teaspoon, and use extra cinamon - lots and lots! :) If you still feel nauseas, it could be because the lecithin is working on your liver/gallbladder. I was often "burpy" after drinking the protein shake for the first two weeks I added it to my diet, but that subsided and now my body LOVES it.
