Hello good people!!!
This is your boy....Big Boi. Look, first of all I am a male, and all male. That point is very important to me. Secondly, I have no agenda. That is such a ridiculous comment that I don't even know what to say in return other than this Frost...Weed has been proven to cause paranoia. I just got this new computer you see as well as high speed internet access and let me tell you.. if you don't have it, get it. people used to get upset with me for playing spades on AOL cause I was taking such a long time to play.. well, the real reason was because I was still using the telephone line. So if I have an agenda it is that I have high speed internet access and I can now surf the web and talk about things that I know about. Lets face it, Big Boi has a Big mouth. And Big Boi talks a lot of mess, but there are times such as these in which Big Boi speaks the truth. Pick up on it or don't the choice is yours. I am not getting paid to talk, and by the way if google would not have shown me this site you would have never known Big Boi. So Thank the internet Gods for that in your quiet time.
Since I had one nay sayer I will delve into this topic a little further, for again, I know a lot about this subject. Dr.Clifford Sturdevant The esteemed author of The Art and Science of Operative Dentistry writes this. The next serious controversy arose in 1980 when Dr. Hal Huggins publicly condemned dental amalgam. Dr. Huggins, a practicing dentist in Colorado, was convinced that mercury released from dental Amalgam was responsible for a plethora of human diseases affecting the cardiovascular and nervous systems. Patients claimed recoveries from multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, and other afflictions as a result of removing their dental amalgam fillings. For almost a decade, a loyal following of patients and dentists expanded the call to ban dental amalgam. Research in the United States and other first world countries has since demonstrated clearly that there was no basis for any of these claims.
In 1991, the general American public was widely exposed to the controversy when it was reported by a mojor television program(60 Minutes). In response to numerous public questions, the profession, the National Institute of Health-National Institute for Dental Research (NIH_NIDR), the Food and Drug Administration(FDA), and several other groups held forums involving world-famous scientists and clinicians to reeexamine the issue. Although these experts agreeded dental amalgam research was needed and should continue, the concluded ther there was NO BASIS FOR CLAIMS THAT DENTAL AMALGAM WAS A SIGNIFICANT HEALTH HAZARD. They strictly recommended that dental Amalgams not be removed for that reason. However, the controversy is far from being resolved. There continue to be claims of hazards published in both local paper and nonscientific journals, and occasionally as well in scientific journals. However, all published research demonstrates clearly that there is no cause-and-effect relationship between dental amalgam restorations and other health problems. This controversy will probably never be resolved because there will always be a certain percentage of patients seeking a miracle cure for their problems. However, fears of dental amalgam are not a basis for amalgam removal.
Understanding the issues related to dental amalgam use has been a challenging problem for dental patients. The issues are complex and dealing with them requires some knowledge of physical chemistry and biochemical proceses. It is not realistic to think that a general dentis has the time to effectively communicate this information. In addition, most dentists are perceived by patients as having a vested interest in the decision to use dental amalgam. Yet, clearly the public wants to know. Fortunately, very clear and concise reviews of the controversy have been ublished by reputable consumer affairs groups.
Now, Why did Big Boi type all of this? #1 as you can see, Big Boi has absolutely nothing to do #2 Big Boi has high speed internet access. I would have never typed this had I been on a regular telephone line, in fact my boy (slang, for friend) called and had I been typing using the telephone line, my computer would have froze on me. Take it or leave it folks. Now that is the facts, and I wrote nothing extra. If you have serious health issues Trust me when I say it is not from your teeth. I also advise that in the future if you get another cavity, then use a hybrid composite for the posterior and a microfil composite with flouride ionic release for the anterior teeth. and above all brush and floss daily and brush your tounge and use listerine. Composites cost more to put in and they break down a lot quicker then amalgam does and porcelan composites, because of there hardness breaks down opposing occlusion (in essence you wear out the enamel of the teeth that grind against the teeth that have the porclean) and composites still exibit micro-leakage, because shrinkage of the material occurs when the u.v. light is used to harden the composite material when light curing. But if you cannot afford all of that stuff and you have a cavity, please get an amalgam so that you can maintain your dentition and don't let paranoia scare you from maintaining sound oral health. and Yall have a nice day
