hi! I have just been diagnosed having a "liver hemangioma" (after an ultrasound). Not much was said to me, except that it was benign and nothing should be done, except "watching it:". I have been in a lot of pain ever since November, 2001. First, I was treated for an ulcer and given antibiotics. Pain got better for a while. It came back. Studies were done (ultrasound, CT Scan). Hemangioma was found. But nothing is going to be done, I was told. Pain continues. It's hard to live with pain for a long time: pain, nauseas, tiredness, burning (sometimes). Could it be caused by this "hemangioma"? And if so... what could be done about it?
Monday I'm going back to see my primary care physician. What would you advise me to tell/ask her? The specialist told me to "let it be", and "we'll just watch it".
Thanks.
PS: will you please reply directly to my e-mail? Otherwise, I will not know where to find you. I was searching for anything on the Internet about "hemangioma", and I found your page.
I would suggest bowel cleanse, parasites cleanse & liver cleanse.
There are two types of liver hemangioma: cavernous and hemangioendothelioma.
Hemangioendotheliomata are generally seen only in children.
Cavernous hemangioma is the most common benign liver tumor of adults.
Cavernous hemangioma occur in individuals of all ages and throughout the world. They are more commonly found in older persons and rarely identified in young children. Cavernous hemangiomata are more common in women than men. Estrogens may increase their size.
Cavernous hemangiomata can vary in size and be as large as several centimeters. The margins of the tumors are usually well-defined. Hemangiomata are filled with vascular channels of various sizes and also contain fibrous tissue. Thrombi (clotted blood) may be present in the vascular channels.
Very rarely, a hemangioma can rupture, usually after abdominal trauma.
Cavernous hemangiomata are benign.
The best treatment for benign tumors are black walnut, wormwood & liver cleanse.
I had a Ct scan & they saw a density, a nodule, in the liver.....they suspect it is hemangioma but I think a biopsy has to be done to make sure it is not malignant.I am not a doctor..but I had a friend who was not diagnosed on time for malignancy & is now dead........
I also need advice.I pray a lot & I trust in God's help, but I want to do my best & have the best treatment too....
What do you think.........should I accept the hemangioma diagnosis based on the Ct scan alone or have a biopsy done........I too experience pain on the lower left quadrant....thanks to your advice....
My husband, who has a cirrhotic liver was recently given an MRI; the interventional radiologist came up with a diagnosis of "hepatocellular carcinoma"; we went to specialist yesterday at Mt. Sinai (world reknown liver transplant center) who has said that he believes the radiologist was incorrect in his diagnosis and after viewing the many levels of the MRI graphics said he was fairly positive that it was not cancer at all, but rather a hemangioma (lower right lobe of liver). My husband is in no pain - he does not drink AT ALL and is extremely healthy. The Mt. Sinai specialist has, however, ordered a "guided" biopsy, so we will not really know for certain until Monday, but he was quite positive that the spot was a hemangioma, "nothing more than a birthmark", he said.
So if anyone here has pain, it would seem to me that your primary care physician should refer you to a liver specialist and have that specialist determine whether, from your history, and your bloodwork, if you should have a biopsy....I would certainly want one! Good luck!
I have also been diagnosised with liver hemangioma. I was experiencing a pain in my lower right high thigh, right where my leg attaches to my body. My Gyno thought that I might have indometriosis, so she did a laproscopy.......nothing. She then sent me to a internal med doc. He thought that it might be a hernia.....not. They then saw that my liver had these lesions. He suggested that we wait 3-months to see if there is any growth. My Gyno called back and wants me to see a gastroinstesional doc. I made an appt. with a very well-known clinic that treats all diagnosis, and has a VERY good reputation......we will see. I have been searching on this subject as well........WE HAVE TO INFORM OURSELVES, AND BE OUR OWN BEST DOC!
Which, by the way. We haven't found what was my origianl pain or problem.....the internal doc put me on Celebrex ( an anti-inflamatory)----which I read online, it shouldn't be taken if there are liver problems.
I was recently diagnosed with three Haemangioma's of the liver. Two are approx 5cm in diameter & one has grown abnormally large and is 13cm diamater. They have been growing for approximately 2 years, which would explain my ill health over that period of time. I spent 2 years visiting doctors to no avail, I even had a laperoscopy in 2001, but unfortunately my GP thought my problem was a gynae one, and didn't investigate the liver. Everything came to a head about 3 months ago when I was having severe chest pains & nausea. I gave up on the National Health Service and paid for an ultra sound privately, which showed this large mass on my liver. I was then treated as an urgent case and sent to see a consultant in Leicester, who after an MRI scan, diagnosed a giant haemangioma. In the next 4-6 weeks I am having a resection of the liver, which I can honestly say Im not looking forward to, although I am certainly looking forward to being better again. The operation is very risky, but Im a woman in my early 30's, who wants to start a family in the next year, I am very lucky to have found out about this, as Haemangioma's of the liver are very difficult to detect.
My consultant said that the nausea is likened to morning sickness (not that I have ever had any children), the haemangioma is pressing your stomach in the same way a baby presses on your stomach, causing the sick feeling. I take anti sickness tablets, which kind of sort it out. I also get chest pains & back pains, they are very sharp. I also get abdominal cramps, which can sometimes last all day, they are very worrying, the only way they ease up slightly for me is if I lie down.
