I did the Hulda Clark e flush and woke at 2.30am with severe nausea, rapid heartbeat and diarrhoea. I realise that this is to be expected but I thought this would not occur until the following morning. The next morning I took the 2 Epsom Salt drinks which were very hard to get down as they caused nausea. I then had diarrhoea which continued throughout that day, again at 2am the following night and through till 4pm the next day. I know it is essential the cleanse the bowel but this all seems a bit too extreme. Is it possible to skip the Epsom Salts or to reduce the dose and still have a successful flush? Also is it OK to mix the salts with grapefruit juice to improve the taste? I am cuurently recovering from chronic fatigue syndrome and following a candida program. Also I was wondering if the cleanse where you take the oil mixture every 15 minutes is just as effective as it does not include the use of epsom salts or any other kind of laxative.
I backed off on the ES (3 Tbs to 3 cups of GF juice instead of the 4 Tbs in the recipe) and it works fine for my wife and I. We didn't start "running" until 8:30 or 9:00AM Saturday. But we did coninue with the periodic runs untill much later that afternoon and even had one more episode (with stones yet) on Sunday morning. And neither of us had much in the way of nausea the whole way through.
The Clark recipe allows for substituting grapefruit or any tart apple juice (like granny smith) for water. Just make sure you get fresh organic juice or squeeze your own. Now that we have a citrus juicer (Black and Decker I think) we'll continue to by fresh grapefruit and make the juice ourselves.
Don't much about the every 15 mins mix. The Clark Flush works well and I'll be sticking with that one and make adjustments to it as we go.
Remember, most of this stuff is not engraved in stone so you can adapt recipes to you instead the other way around, as long as you keep the basic guidelines in mind as you make any changes.
Every few days we get a report on this forum from someone who got extreme diarrhoea.
The answer is always the same ... the amount of magnesium sulfate that you have taken was too much for you.
Next time you do the cleanse, take only 1/2 of what you have taken this time, but use the same amount of water or grapefruit juice. Yes, you can dissolve Epsom Salt in grapefruit juice .... it tastes better.
It is possible to skip epsom salt, but in that case you should do water enema in the evening and in the morning ... making sure you wash all the stones out.

yes, that cleanse is effective, but the amount of oil that is suppose to be taken is huge ... and most people feel bad with that cleanse. Throwing-up oil is very common problem.
Just decrease the amount of magnesium (epsom salt), and you will feel OK.
I'm thinking of doing the flush, but I'm intolerant to Epsom Salts , can i use something else, maybe magnesium peroxide (i get good bowel movement with that). Also which is better, grapefruit or lemon?
Did you find any alternatives to the Epsom Salts . They give me bladder infections in the bath so am reluctant to take them internally. I tried the flush just with eating green apples and then doing the olive oil and lemon juice. I didn't notice much but my back and shoulders are achey and they never were before. I have really sluggish bowels so not sure what it takes to clear things enough to see the stones.
YES! There is an alternative to using Epsom Salts . I used epsom salts for two years (and just endured the nauseating taste because it worked so well), and then I found out about using magnesium citrate in its place. Magnesium citrate is a laxative found in most pharmacies or grocery stores. It is very inexpensive and comes in a glass bottle. It takes 2 bottles for one flush.
I put the two bottles of magnesium citrate in a container and add a little water to make 3 cups. Then I put it in the refrigerator, just as I would have the epsom salts. Then I take 3/4 cup, just like the instructions tell you to.
I have done this for the past 3 years, and it has always worked very well. Plus, the taste is much better. The magnesium citrate comes in several flavors. I have found the lemon-lime to be the best flavor. Cherry is a little like drinking cough syrup--yuk!
One other thing that I also do when I do the flush is to use a castor oil pack when I lie down (after taking the olive oil-grapefruit juice concoction). When I do this, the larger stones come out. There are instructions on the web for castor oil packs. I put a heating pad on top of it.
Another thing that I've found is that I put the olive oil-grapefruit juice concoction in a shaker or some type of container with a lid. I shake it vigorously before I drink it through a straw. If I don't do this, it doesn't emulsify as well and almost gags me because of the olive oil. If I shake it well, I can't even taste the olive oil. I only taste the grapefruit juice.
Hope this helps! I just did one yesterday, and I'm astounded at how well it works! I usually do it twice a year, just to keep everything clean.
I am in the midst of the same problem. It feels as if I've been urinating thru my bum more than an hour last night before drinking the oil, and now this morning. I had a pretty sleepless night even though I took 4 ornithine tablets and HAD to elevate in order to not vomit (along with some mental calming exercises). I guess the only fulfilling part was feeling little tickles of movements on the left side of my stomach (hopefully this is my liver) for the first 20 minutes where stones must have been moving. Now I know I'm bein a drama queen, but exactly how much water can I lose before I'm gonna be in a hospital, cuz I've been urinating from my bum as much as I urinate regularly, except I followed the instructions to a tee about not drinkin anythin after a certain hour (I did shift every time listed by 3 hours; late starter) except I had to have some grapefruit last night in order to stop myself from hurling? I can't bring myself to do the two last doses of the Epsom Salts even though I'm not nauseous anymore, just am still urinating from my bum. Will this thing still work? I feel blah and my stomach is still gurgling (callin me back to the john) as I type this. Any immediate advice would be much appreciated..
...drink plenty of water
...you don't HAVE to drink the last 2...
if you force it, you may never try this again...better to pat yourself on the back for having got this far...and try again in 2 weeks...next time you'll have a little more confidence, and may go all the way...the last 2, i think are to flush you on out...good luck and don't give up! :)
If you are losing water, buy some electrolytes at the drug store. Electrolytes are for people with liquid loss of this type. I keep some handy for this reason.
