My symptoms for the last four years have been all very digestion oriented --fatigue, systemic candidiasis, food allergies, weight problems (both sides of spectrum), depression, constipation, etc.
I have found that taking HCL and Pancreatin as well as Bile salts with my meals really helps me feel better after eating. But my body requires absurd amounts of the enzymes with each meal!!! It's hard to keep up with. Plus, the enzyme overload is starting to make me feel strange after taking them --but they still eliminate the symptoms I get immediately after eating (bloating & strange fat storing sensation)
I am afraid of becoming dependent on these enzymes, but do not dare go off of them. Can you help me figure out how to get to the point where I can make my organs secret their own enzymes again???
I've done about eleven liver flushes or so. The only thing that they have helped me with so far is reducing/eliminating anxiety attacks. I just did one yesterday (first one in a long time) but still have not gotten the diarreah from the Epsom Salts (constipation has been an issue as of late)
I eat a 90% raw, vegan, sugar-free (even natural sugars) diet and am tired of this!
i have had some of the same sypmtoms as you in the past few years. i have experimented with the mostly raw vegan diet, and though for a while i feel really great on it, i usually get more digestion/elimination problems after the first week or so. i think part of it is because i tend to eat primarily veggies, salads, nuts, seeds sprouted beans & truly raw nut & seed butters. its a lot of roughage, but maybe not always enough bulk. and i think that because these foods are high in water, i forget to drink enough extra water! SO important for proper elimination. now that summer's back, i'm sure i'll be trying the raw again... but this time, taking more time to sprout grains too and incorporate more of them into my daily regime...
my best advice from personal experience is to chew chew chew any food before swallowing, really chew it until it is practically liquid. it activates the digestion process right in the mouth, as well as sends signals to your stomach that food is on the way, so your stomach begins preparing with its own digestive juices.
you may want to check out raw apple cider vinegar. the kind that is cloudy with little brown strands of sediment in it. i know that fermented foods are not recommended for candida overgrowth, but there is compelling research that this one food can actually be beneficial. i recently read that you can even apply it directly to vaginal candida (topically and douche) and that it will help kill the fungus (?!)... i have not tried it myself, not being a sufferer of that particular affliction, and i know it goes against the more common advice..
i'd LOVE to get others' comments or knowledge on that idea.
raw a.c.v. is naturally rich in potassium, which is a very important mineral for the body, it benefits so many different aspects of our body functions...
for optimal digestion you can take a teaspoon or so in small glass of water and sip it before a meal, holding it in your mouth & swishing it before swallowing, to begin your own digestive enzymes flowing in the mouth (which is where digestion truly starts). its also great in salad dressings.
for contipation, i have my own remedy which is really potent. stay close to a toilet if you use this:
3 large onions - peel and slice thin
4 cups good quality water (or enough to cover onions)
put in a pot, cover and simmer until onions are really soft. i use a pressure cooker to make it fast.
ladel into a bowl and season with a little bit of bragg's or Sea Salt , and a dash of cayenne if you can take the heat. i sometimes add some dulse seaweed too. eat half of this mixture as a warm soup (eat the onions too, not just the broth!). ususally it will get me to the toilet within half an hour to an hour. if no movement, then eat the rest!
good luck, every body is unique, you can find the answers that work for you!!
