I could go up and down stairs two by two, and climb hills quite well. The leg-focussed exercise machines at the gym, the few times I went, gave me little problem, even when I had excess abdominal weight.
When I had a small blister on top of one toe from ill-fitting shoes, I was also sleeping with my husband who had just come home from a stay in hospital (circa 1980).
You guessed it! Staph.
In me it disappeared after about a week. In him it somewhat affected the right side of his body, for two or three weeks.
That was when I noticed the brown splotches creeping over the tops of my feet, and eventually over my shins and calves. It stopped about four inches below my knees.
When I was a kid, I picked up the idea that brown splotches were called 'liver spots' and often showed up on the backs of the hands of the elderly.
Is this subject discussed on the CureZone? How may I find information?
I have those, but I'm 50 and have not had the greatest diet in my 50 years. They say they are caused my a malfunctioning liver (such the word "liver spots") but I believe they could also be caused by fungus or bacteria, either internal or external, as well as parasites.
So, I started by cleansing, liver (flushes) and bowels (Oxypowder). Recently I decided to do a series of detox baths to help the process along. Parasites absolutely hate oxygen, so I take the Oxypowder internally, and the other oxygen (H202 - hydrogen peroxide) externally.
One night a week I take a bath of 1 cup of 35% food grade H202 (hydrogen peroxide) along with 1/2 cups of Sea Salt , Epsom Salts and baking soda.
One night a week I take a bath of 1 cup of 35% food grade H202, along with one quart of colloidal silver (superior for fungus) that I make myself.
I figure that those spots will be history, and perhaps I won't look like I have 50 year old legs anymore.
If you think poor circulation in the legs may be a part of the problem, there are two supplements that work very well to improve circulation, help with varicose veins and generally clean blood vessels. Horse Chestnut and Butcher's Broom are both or saponin and support strong circulation in the lower extremities. Cayenne is also excellent for improving circulation, I use a few drops of the tincture in my vinegar and molasses drinks.
Apply juice of crushed fresh cranberries to age spots, and let them dry overnight. Wash off in the morning and note the lighter skin tone.
Or green papaya enzyme, to even out the skin tone and fade brown spots. Apply before retiring for the night; use mild glycolic acid after cleaning, then moisturize.
Or squeaze some fresh lemon juice and apply to darkened spots. It bleaches skin just like it can bleach your hair.
In my 3 years on curezone there have been a lot of questions about liver spots. You found probably the only person that thought she got rid off the spots with liverflushing. There has been a discussion about this before and people felt that they indeed were brown spots but not liverspots.
I have done so far 47 flushes and I am on an improved lifestyle but the liverspots did not go away, I even have seen some new ones, though it might be my age (70).
The liverflushing did improve my skin.
You confirm my suspicions that these might not be what they appear.
Two other clues:
Someone, somewhere, mentioned that they might be a microscopic 'something' under the skin, and not too important. Yet I'm sure they are on the legs as related to inactivity. Like sitting and posting, for example. (Hm-m-m...)
An overweight man on a TV show about dieting, had them, exactly the same as mine. I didn't see the later shows to see if his reduced.
Shall we try White Tiger's bleaching suggestions? Maybe we can help solve this.
Oh yes, I'm 68. They started when I was about 46, during a time of stressful, but necessary, change.
Thanks for the useful information. I hadn't thought to search for "liver spots" when I started this thread.
I am resisting being called a diabetic. I did the clinic thing last year, but refused the meds, and turned in blood test readings good enough to get me on a yearly call-back (which is due this month).
I also got a new doctor, telling her that I am responsible for my own health, that I will never blame her for anything. Probably I sounded fool-hardy, but I don't mind.
I think a "controlled diabetic" means controlled by me, not by meds.
The leg-spots have been going on years longer than doctor's suspicion of diabetes, however, like since the early 1980's.
My main problem for several years has been gall/ liver stones . I've felt I have been making good progress in this area, by minding my diet, etc., but there's this dull ache in my side, even tonight, that tells me to mind my p's and q's.
Probably I've been 'allowing' too many indiscretions. I have this mind-set that doesn't want to see the world as going to the hot place in a handbasket. 'Invincibility' still lives in my heart. I have this idea that there is always a way.
However, we who post on the CureZone have a responsibility to those who only read. A la-de-da attitude may be all well and good in our own lives, up to a point, but it may be harmful to the quiet ones looking for guidance.
This business of 'research' is difficult. I find myself thinking that I don't need to be so 'serious', and even that too much focus on the negative will bring me more of the same. (Getting more of what I don't want?)
So, where are my real strengths? Can a senior woman figure out, and accomplish, well-being, within the context of an 'ordinary' life?
Inside my head, a voice is whispering, 'Yes'. But, darned if I know how. I'll try. And I'll report.
I'd also like to acknowledge those on these boards who struggle with very serious ailments, yet find the time and compassion to give a helping hand.
Bravo, good friends!!!
I thank you. I admire you. You are in our thoughts, even of those who do not post.
At any age it is good to start. I was 67. I mainly did flushes and Oxypowder. Talked to Andreas Moritz and follow his book Timeless Secrets of Health and Rejuvenation. From there I read everything and sometimes add new things, after 3 years urine therapy, oil swishing and a minimum of supplements for specific things.
For the 1st time in my life I am "normal".
No gallbladder symptoms, allergies and body aches. Off 3 anti-depressant, HRT, high bloodpressure and cholesterol medication. Was on 1 drug for 40 years and anti-depressants for 15 years.
"However, we who post on the Curezone have a responsibility to those who only read. A la-de-da attitude may be all well and good in our own lives, up to a point, but it may be harmful to the quiet ones looking for guidance."
This is really a good statement. Its so easy to make suggestions or recommend something we might have read about, but have not experienced ourselves. We all have to take responsibility for our health, our words and our actions; however in a place like Curezone, we need to also feel a sense of responsibility for those who are blindly seeking answers and might be willing to fall for anything they think might be a quick fix. I have a cousin who has not had a natural bowel movement in over 25 years. She depends on Ex-lax to get her to go when it is convenient for her. A couple of years ago I told her about Curezone and how much it was helping me. She bought one product, I think it was called something like "Colon Blow", used it three days and decided alternative medicine could not work because that product did not help her. She now teases me about my beliefs and sums all alternative health care as"Dancing naked around a bonfire while slinging a dead cat over your head, then do a 10 gallon enema with root beer". There will always be those who doubt and abuse, there will be those, like me, who do a lot of reading and research on both sides of the question before trying something, and those who will fall for anything and everything. All need to be treated with kindness, dignity and respect. And, we need to remember to,above all, cause no harm.
"This business of 'research' is difficult. I find myself thinking that I don't need to be so 'serious', and even that too much focus on the negative will bring me more of the same. (Getting more of what I don't want?)"
If we research ourselves to death, but never take positive actions the we wind up with nothing but theories. On the other hand if we blindly follow everyone without learning and thinking for ourselves, we can wind up in worse shape than before. It not enough just to say we are going to fast for 30 days, or do a liver cleanse, or take this or that supplement. We need to try and discover how our bodies function and how fasting and cleansing works and how they might affect us. Any "expert" who refuses to answer questions and explain why their methods or suggestions work is failing the people he/she claims to be trying to help. I don't mind the negative as long as it treats the reader with respect and acknowledges their intelligence in seeking the truth behind the theory. I never take a supplement without researching both the positive and negative aspects. It does not offend me in the least when one chooses not to take my advice as long as the respect and sound reasoning is there.
I'm finding that I learn much by 'thinking out' procedures I read.
Yet, many things, like the suggestions made so far on this thread, make sense in all I've learned to date.
I'm sure that skin-brushing will be a wise move, too, if I can get myself into the routine.
Do you think that it is just the change in routine that is difficult to accept? In the small improvements.
I so agree that major changes/protocols need to be well thought out. I've been so reluctant to try fasting, and liver flushes, for two examples. It's been 'easier' to add big salads, and a glass of fresh vegetables, juiced, each day. And to slowly reduce the breads, etc. And these steps have been somewhat effective.
Still, I'm coming so much closer to a Big alteration in my lifestyle/health care. I hope I have the courage as I know all of you have. But, please, don't ANYONE copy me until I come back and tell you a procedure was 100% successful for me!!!
Even then, all things might not be equal. I might have forgotten to tell you something important!
It breaks my heart to watch others hurt themselves, and to be unable to help. Then I remember that I have to help myself, first. Maybe others will then 'get it' by some kind of osmosis. I hope.
I've seen where you mention it twice in recent days, with two or three other supplements. It caught my attention then, the way you spoke of it.
'Lorenzo's Oil' has been coming to my mind. :)
My questions would be price and availability (we are Canadian pensioners); and, if there is a source in Nature.
Please give me links to where you describe it, won't you? No need to repeat yourself.
How's it working for people you know?
I've been starting the apples, Apple Cider Vinegar thingy, and I do wonder about the sweetness of the apples. Although I take in both good and bad sugars/starches once in a while. (Still walking the middle line. :( ) And it's been strawberry/cherry season - fresh - raw - unadorned - from a garden that hasn't been sprayed for years, if ever! And our own peas! Ambrosia!
I'm going for another magnesium than the oxide I've been using sparingly for years, on the suggestion of another CureZone regular.
And I see that the new bag of Epsom Salts at our house is marked Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate. Do you see any obstacles there?
Do you know - we have photographs in this room, a serene white tiger by my husband's chair, and a momma giraffe planting a kiss on the head of her newborn, by my computer. Beautiful children and grandbabies, too.
hi there, I haven't read this thread, so I'm sure this will repeat something you've already heard, but I just wanted to add my name to the list of those who say the Liver Flush is very helpful. I was beginning to have liver spots on my hands -- quite a few, quite 'suddenly' and at the fairly young age of forty-four. I have done four or five
(I forget) liver flushes and the spots have all gone. I just noticed this now when I read your post. As well, I had a small dark mole on my foot on the sole, that had just appeared a few years earlier(If you are familiar with reflexology,it was at the 'heart location' on the left foot).I have noticed it is beginning to fade...
As well as liver flushing, I've been rebuilding my adrenals (and more) with raspberry leaf tea (steeped 15 minutes: it becomes more 'healer' than 'herb' at that point) and have begun to alkalize the body more seriously. See Invincibles' blog on curezone for details on that: it involves a drink that is quite pleasant and inexpensive.
I was just re-reading the raspberry thingy, last night!
And we have some in the kitchen cupboard. And I've been toying with planting the whole backyard to them. Saves mowing!
And, yes, I'm going to do the liver flush, I'm GOING to! Is somebody in the back row pushing?
Groan!
No, I don't mean that.
It just hasn't seemed to arise in the natural order of things, yet. Does that make sense to you?
I guess I've been trying to clear the small confusions, get a handle on order and procedure.
Anyway, I'm just now printing out every post in this thread, your good thoughts included, Chiro.
I'm going to write a list of every suggestion, plus some more that have been graciously given to me, and I'll write a program. And, I'll follow it, and report!
One of the posters here put a grin smilie after my number disguise. Shoot, I thought I might be well hidden!
It's not that I don't intend to keep my promises, but that I've been getting into some forums and subjects that seriously disturb me, and posting opinions there has had a profoundly good effect on something inside. Once I fit in my opinion, the disturbed feeling vanishes.
Hurts that were once overwhelming, now take their place in my view of what the world needs now.
I could blog, I know, but, in the instructions, there is a mention of choosing a title that will be attractive on the 'Net. Yoiks! Exposed!
I think I'll just quietly work away at myself until I have enough success to give a great big testimonial.
The best thing I've learned about the CureZone is that, in a way, we are all on the same page. Company, as we go, is extremely valuable.
Boy, do we have lush dandelions here! But I'd need to be cautious about gallstones.
No elderberry, but lots of vigorous Oregon Grape, Maple, and green grapes. Roses, peppermint, Yucca, and thyme, too. Lots more unidentified, as well, but I take only tiny bits of stuff I'm sure of.
One of my dandelions is a bouquet! The root probably goes to China! And, it grows on a very steep slope, amomg rampant weeds and junipers. No way any critter gets in there to pee on it. Grin!
