Lysine, Zinc, Muti-vitamin, how much, and how often? by  wrangler  7 year  796  Herpes Hello, I have been doing some reading and see that Lysine, and Zinc of course coupled with a multi-vitamin and a good diet, less stress, and good sleep are key factors to controlling outbreaks. However, there seems to be some differences on how much and how often these should be taken, especially the lysine? Could people please tell me if they use these medicines and what they do exactly? I used a Zovirax ointment once about 17 or 18 years ago, but that's about it for prescription meds for me. I took a series of Advils for pain back in September and put raw garlic and olive oil on the most recent lesion I had. Burned like heck, but it stunted the outbreak considerably.
