I'm having gallbladder surgery this Friday but am considering not doing it. I've had a major attack seven years ago and was misdiagnosed. Then this June I had two severe attacks and was diagnosed with gallstones. I then went on a low fat diet and tried to watch what I ate. I feel much better now and do not want of the other side effects I have read about due to surgery. I don't want to trade in one problem for another since I now know how to manage my gallbladder attacks.
I did do a Liver Flush with the 2 day organic apple juice fast and a 1/2 cup lemon juice and 1/2 olive oil. I'm not sure if it worked or not as I didn't collect any stones and didn't get another ultrasound. I have hear the "stones" that get flushed out are actually formed from the olive oil and lemon juice mixture and not even real gallstones.
I have been feeling much better since the flush though. That was two weeks ago. I can pretty much eat small amounts of cheese and even some fried tortilla chips. But it might also be because I have let my body have time to recover. So I think I'm managing my g.b on my own with diet. That's why I'm reluctant to get surgery. I don't want more problems or complications. I'm only 27 and if I can go another 7 years without an attack, that's not so bad. And if I have another one, I know how to handle it now.
But my doctor said that if I'm prone to forming stones I won't be able to get rid of them so that surgury is the only permenant option. Well duh, surgery is permanent. I just want to make sure I'm making an informed decision.
Well my friend you are misinformed about the flush being what you've been told and many can verify that if you take the time to find out ! And it seems to me the flush you did was effective with the results you obtained from just one flush! Listen to your body not some biased doctor who is in it just for the money!
Your body said thank you for the relief and rewarded you by allowing you to eat things you couldnt eat before the flush! I'd say you are a prime candidate for a successful series of flushes and not destined to be put under the knife!
Continue flushing using a protocal by one of the experts Like Andreas or Clark and save your gallbladder for the important function it has in maintaining good health!
I agree with stridar. You should try a few more flushes before the knife. Many doctors just want to make money. There are way too many success stories to have doubts with the liver flush. Continue eating well. Good luck
My 2 cents (what I would do, knowing what I do now)...
Postpone the surgery and continue to flush as frequently as you can tolerate the flushes leaving at least two weeks between them. Stay away from processed foods, sugars, caffeine, alcohol, grains and BAD oils and fats along with fried foods. Eat as much raw fresh fruit (lots of apples) and vegetables (dandelion, beets are good for the liver) as you can; organic preferred. Drink clean water as your primary beverage, with occasional herbal teas like dandelion root (great for the liver). Warm water with fresh squeezed lemon every day before meals on an empty stomach will work wonders.
If you decide to go with the flushes, you must be sure to eat plenty of mineral rich foods every day to help maintain your electrolyte and mineral reserves.
I agre with the above advice, but one thing I disagree with is a low-fat diet. I think a low-fat diet is a culprit in making gallbladder issues worse, because it's not stimulating the release of bile and allowing the gallbladder to get more congested. It's a temporary band-aid for pain and not a permanent solution for managing gallbladder issues.
If you can tolerate small amounts of fat, eat fats -- especially good ones like avocado, olive oil and fish -- that will stimulate your gallbladder and tell you how you are doing in your flushing. Personally, I have found benefit from a diet that is no-sugar, very low grains and dairy, and no restriction in fat, except eating healthy fats of course.
I'm doing everything I can to keep my gallbladder -- diet, flushing, taking stone dissolving herbs, exercise, etc. My mother had hers out 10 years ago and has never been the same since. She's had chronic diarrhea and IBS symptoms.
If you look at the other gallbladder/ Liver Flush forum they will show you proof that the stones people flush out are indeed "real" gb/ liver stones -- people have had them analyzed. I'm convinced because when I flush, all kinds of other junk comes out after my intestines are clean and there is a strong bile smell (sickly sweet and acrid). I use coffee enemas as a follow up to the flush (I take magnesium capsules instead of espom and fast over a day beforehand) and that is what really gets the best results for me. I'm coming up to flush #10.
agree, low-fat diets are the worst. And this what doctors suggest, so i do not trust them now....And if i do not trust them about proper diet how can i trust them about having surgery??
I could eat anything I wanted for 3 1/2 after I was first diagnosed and had no symptoms at all during the last year and then i started this low fat and low everything diet program and my symptoms are back after a month. No attacks (yet?) but
it was quite bad. I am too scared to do a flush yet just taking herbs and adding healthy oil back.
Pretty sad cause i was doing great on this diet and feeling much better too except that my gb got mad at me again.
The problem is that people often still don't feel well afterwards, since the stones start in the liver (not according to doctors). We have had several people here that
had to flush afterwards. Here is one http://www.curezone.com/forums/m.asp?f=447&i=20119
Do you know the size of the gallstones? Mine is 27 mm so far it is still there, but people can live with stones as long as the liver stays clean.
All my symptoms are gone inflammation was gone after a year (ultrasound), the wall was back to normal from 42mm to 3 mm. The stone was freefloating instead of sitting in the gallbladder neck, so the bile is floating again.
I started flushing 3 years ago and now I do it every 2 months or so to keep my liver clean and keep everything flowing. And some day the stone might come out but I don't even know I have it, I only know because of the ultrasounds.
I am sure you have read the problems the people have had here on the forum.
If you cancel your surgery just tell them that you can't make it and will make another appointment. I do this all the time with doctors when I don't believe in certain tests.
I'm thinking that postponing the surgery is best for me, for now. I don't have any inflammation of the wall or any other problems other than a few medium sized stones. I recovered by myself after my first major attack seven years ago without even knowing I had gallstones. So at least now I'm informed and know what to look for. I've been able to eat normally for 20 days so I think I'm on the road to recovery already.
Although I tried the liver/gallbladder combo flush, I don't understand how that's supposed to push out the stones. If the stones are in the gallbladder how can drinking olive oil and lemon juice help you? That stuff sits in your stomach and then goes through your intestines. Can anyone explain?
The olive oil and lemon juice soften the stones in your liver channels. The epsom
salts widen the channels, so the now-softened
stones can be more easily flushed. It works
the same way on your gall-bladder.
Good decision Eunnie! But now that you,ve decided to postpone the operation and look into the cleanses you should post on the Liver/Gallbladder support forum!
The L/G flush and the combination of ingredience all have a purpose but The oil and the Epsom Salts are the two ingredience that really do the work! The Epsom salts dialte the gallbladder and bile duct and the oils causes the gallbladder to excrete bile helping push any stone or debree through the bile duct anf into the intestines! The lemon juice or grapefruit juice or even orange juice are just flavor enhancers to help get the oil down!
I agree completely with the other people who
have responded to you. Cancel the surgery.
That's what your intuition is telling you
to do, and, as always, your inner Guide is
right.
About 500,000 Americans have their gall bladders surgically removed each year. In
almost every case, it is a totally unnecessary operation.
Your gall bladder doesn't generate stones.
They migrate downhill from your liver. You
need to do some good liver flushes -- at
least one a month -- for the next year or two.
I suggest you buy a copy of Andreas Moritz 's
wonderful book, The Amazing Liver & Gallbladder Flush. It's worth its weight in
gold. Andreas used to have the best forum
here on CZ, before his workload forced him
to put it on hold. You can buy the book from
Amazon.com, or you can buy it at Andreas'
website: http://www.ener-chi-com
If you continue to eat clean, living food,
drink lots of pure water, and do systematic
intestinal cleanses -- colon, liver, kidneys,
and parasite cleanses -- your body will heal
itself quickly.
Your first good liver cleanse will cost you
about $20.00. What is the surgery going to
cost you, not only initially, but down the
road?
Buy that book ASAP. It will put you firmly
on the Healing Path. I will keep you in my
prayers, Eunnie.
Like Stridar says go to the liverflush forum. This forum is mainly for people that want surgery. Read the FAQ at the top of the page and they may answer all your questions. And otherwise people will answer your personal questions.
please look into castor oil packs. You could do three or more, starting today, and might find you can cancel the surgery. Today is a new moon so it would be perfect for enlivening the healing power of these packs.
I just posted an article about this one the ask Moreless forum.
under the subject line *"Palma Christi" and green powder
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll now head over to the liver/gallbladder flush forum. I'm amazed by everyone's response and input. What a great community. Best wishes to anyone who makes the decision for surgery. It's a personal one and I'm not ruling out in the future if it becomes absolutely necessary. I hope for the best for everyone who does decide to undergo surgery. Good luck and thanks!
