It is the middle of day 30 for me. My fasting journey is 3/4 complete. I feel happy, healthy and my mind is clear. I am 6’1” tall and my weight is down to 203.5 lbs. Total loss to date is 28 lbs. I drink about 1/2 gallon of the lemonade per day and at least the same amount of water. I follow the Burroughs instructions to the letter. I do not take the P&B shakes because they are not a part of the MC. Maybe next time I will do the Ultimate Cleanse. Although Burroughs doesn’t state in his book that you should drink any amount of water as an addition to the lemonade, logic tells me that you are supposed to drink plenty of water each day so I do so. The lemonade is being absorbed by my body each day as my only nutrition. The first few days of the fast I did not drink any water except that which was in my lemonade and I DID NOT urinate. To me that was a bad sign and knowing from experience what dehydration can do I returned water to my diet. I had to agree with those folks on this forum who were promoting the drinking of lots of water. The water helps to wash toxins out of your system as well so drinking water is helpful and healthy no matter who you are or how you look at it. I do the SWF every morning and the lax tea at night without any problems. I’m doing light exercises and don’t push myself so that I don’t over do it and can also save some of the energy for the cleanse. I meditate twice daily, morning and night. During my meditations I look to God for support and I give thanks.
For those of you who are struggling with your fast, look inside yourselves and find what it is that you really want. Set your end goal and decide that there is nothing that can stop you from reaching it. Drink your lemonade and DO NOT think about food that you would like to eat. The lemonade is your food. If you drink enough of it each day you will not be hungry. If you think about food and other things you would like to indulge in today or after your fast is complete you are only torturing yourselves and you will not enjoy your fast. If you don’t enjoy it you are not likely to complete it or return to it later. When thoughts of food and negative “I can’t” thoughts invade your mind, push them away. You are powerful and can complete the fast if you decide to. If you decide to stop the fast because you have a special dinner or someone visiting, then the fast wasn’t important enough to you. Try again some other day when the timing suits you better.
My goal of 40 days is near. My challenger is already defeated.
Congratulations Ray, you are an inspiration.Day 9 for me and I think I may go for 40.I find it pretty easy to do and I have to shop and cook for my sons. I am still whining about not dropping a single lb and I am going by the book with plenty of extra water.
Am wondering how you are mixing the lemonade and how much of it you are drinking. Also, are you doing the lax tea morning and night or SWF morning and tea at night? Are you having BMs and if so how frequently and how productive? Be graphic.
One more thing....before you started the fast, where you regular or otherwise.
Ray, I am doing it right. ¾ syrup, ¾ lemon juice,1 heaping t of cayenne, put in a 64 0z Gatorade bottle with water. I drink at least another gallon of water during the day. I do the SWF in the am and the SM at night. Eliminations are just usually once in the morning and soft. That’s as graphic as I’m gonna get. I have no health problems and never did.
Am I correct in assuming that when you have your one elimination after the salt water that it is comparable to a waterfall?!
For me the salt water takes about 15 minutes before anything happens and about a full 2 hours to complete. Then I am quiet for the remainder of the day. But during that 2 hour period, I shed a lot of water and 'stuff'.
Will leave that as that for now.
If you are looking to lose weight and have not been feeling hungry I would suggest you begin to cut back on your maple syrup. You can do so gradually or cut it by half and see how that makes you feel for a day or two. If you feel hungry after trying that consider adding another lemonade or two with the lower level of maple syrup.
Ray, I have cut the syrup back to nearly 1/2 cup the last 2 days.
I just have to keep on keepin on.
BTW, my youngest son is Raymond and I call him by the short and long version. If I want to get his attention, I add the middle name (Vincent)I don't have to yell it, just say it and it gets his attention.
Congratulations on making it so long. I tip my hat to you! I am on day 12 and have lost 19 pounds - my goal is 20. I plan to stay with this until day 21 for health reasons. I am feeling really fatigued but don't plan on giving up.
You have been an inspiration and a great source of motivation. We should both be coming off the cleanse around the same time and both have similar end weight goals. I am 6'0 and was at a high weight of 230 last year. I was able to diet myself down to 210, which was where I was when I started this cleanse. I am currently at 191.
Weekends are the hardest for me because I don't have work to take my mind off things. Staying busy is what works for me. That and knowing that I have to willpower to see this through. I have come too far to quit now.
What are your plans for coming off the fast/how do you plan on doing it?
You are doing great! And apparently with ease. I don't usually go by Raymond myself....It reminds me of when my Mom used to call me by that name...I knew I was in trouble! Still happens today with my wife!
My plans are to follow Burroughs instructions to break the fast and then do my own thing. I will need to read it again but I believe I will be drinking orange juice only on day 1; orange juice and vegie broth on day 2; vegie broth and some vegies (for me probably steamed or cooked in the broth) on day 3; then begin gradually adding more raw fruit and vegetables daily until I know my system is processing them without any trouble. I plan to follow a diet that includes raw fruit and vegies, some dairy, beans, plenty of raw nuts and minimal animal protein (mostly fish). Eating 5 to 6 times per day and closely monitoring my daily calorie intake. My first meal of every day will be 1/2 cup organic cottage cheese mixed well with 2 tablespoons of organic cold pressed flaxseed oil. And once I have broken the fast I will really increase my workout routine.
I had to smile when I read you are only referred to as Raymond when you are in trouble! That rings familiar!
Prior to the MC, I would take at least 1-2 tablespoons of flax oil every day. I have read that it is great to take with cottage cheese. I plan to follow a very similar routine when I break my fast. I also plan to alter my diet so I don't put this weight back on. It feels good to be thin again. I haven't been this weight since I was in the military in the late 80's, early 90's. I don't plan on going back to the way I was, that is for sure!
I also think this cleanse is going so well for me because I did several Bowel Cleanses and liver flushes prior to starting the MC. So I had a good head start on cleaning out my system.
Glad to hear you are doing so well. I wish both of us continued success!
Ray:
WOW! You've totally inspired me! I've heard of people going 30 or so days but not 40. Being a follower of Christ, I wondered about the signficance of your 40-day fast. Spiritually speaking, what have you experienced in your journey? What was it that you were trying to accomplish or seek? Hope you don't mind me asking, I just find it amazing the strength you have and were given to go this far.
I did the fast last December - went the full 10 days plus an additional few days on the OJ. I got pretty sick following the fast with a very bad lower respiratory infection that led to the doctors and some antibiotics. I really didn't do the cleanse for any spiritual reasons, but to see if it would help clear up a rare skin condition that I've been fighting for 3 years. I had such severe detox systoms the during the first 4 days - very bad lower back pain and leg aches that kept me up some of the nights that I almost gave in - but I didn't! I fought it. My skin did clear up a good bit, but I still have these breakouts from time to time. I'm planning on starting another fast tomorrow. I really didn't follow through with good eating habits after the fast, so I kinda defeated the whole purpose of doing it. I would like do another fast and be more disciplined afterwards and also make it more of a spirtual fast.
I had determined some time ago that I had not always taken care of my body as well as I should have and I needed to do something about it. I asked for help. The next thing I know I am on the internet looking at this lemonade fast thing. Then I found a link to this forum and spent a lot of time reading the many posts.
When I was deciding to do the fast, I kept thinking about the 40 days Jesus did. It seemed like such an amazing task to have accomplished. Conciously, I did not know that I would actually go 40 days once I was certain that the fast was my path. Initially I thought that I should try it for the recommended minimum and see how I felt. But just days into it I knew I was going longer. Before I had reached day 10 I could feel 40 days. It comes down I think to the fact that I believe I should be living my life as Jesus lived his. I am trying hard to do so. This theme is a part of my daily prayers.
When I began the fast I believed that my reason for doing so was simply to improve the vessel I have been blessed with. Soon after, I felt very engaged during my meditations. I felt very energetic and strong. And I began to understand that this fast was more than a cleanse of the body. The cleanse is allowing my spirit to flourish.
Use meditation on your next fast. It has really helped me make a connection with our maker. If you are not familiar with the how to, send me an email and I will attempt to help. You've been past the minimum and you know you can go further if you want. You've been given the power to do so.
Ray:
Thanks so much for your reply! I would really like hearing your thoughts on meditation. I guess everyone has a different way with connecting with the Holy Spirit, so I would enjoy hearing how you do too.
I pray that the Lord will continue to bless what he's doing in your life through this fast.
Excellent work Ray. I'm closing the end of day two. I wish I was where you are now. I'm only doing 10 days, longer if I can handle it. I think it shows a lot of guts on your part to do the flush so long, and with such purity. I'll bet you're feeling really great right about now. You should. Enjoy the last few days sipping juice and tea, and here's to your continued health. Cheers!
