I read this post on another website and it really shocked me. I posted it because I'm interested in what people here think. I think the reason I found it so disturbing is that I actually agree with a lot of the points made, and I'd never thought about it in this way before. I'd be interested in peoples views...
'The point: male circumcision gives women sexual power over men. The reason? Circumcision massively decreases the sensitivity of the penis and makes it much harder to masturbate. Therefore, men only get real sexual satisfaction from vaginal penetration. The woman decides whether this happens, so the woman has control.
Justification? - people like sarah jessica parker are always complaining that US guys try to stick their tongue down your throat on the 1st date, and bed you on the second. US teenagers are obsessed with 'getting laid.' Europeans are so much more emotionally sensitive they say. Thats because they're more physically sensitive as well!!! This is also why guys marry younger in the US than in europe - regular vaginal sex without a condom - which reduces sensitivity even more.
Last century, people thought masturbation was really bad, therefore it was suppressed. Teenage girls were controlled psychologically - told their genitals were shameful and dirty, and that only immoral women masturbated. Teenage boys were controlled by circumcision - promoted by a guy called John Harvey Kellogg - he said it should be done without any pain relief, and that it worked for the reasons listed above.
However, in 2004 masturbation is promoted. 1 in 3 women in the US owns a vibrator - you can give yourself a massively intense, rapid, easy orgasm whenever you want - no man needed. John Harvey Kellogg would turn in his grave! Men still get circumcised though - surely not fair!
Why does it still happen? - power.

We all have female friends who told us when we were pregnant how we 'MUST' have our baby boy circumcised - why? - this was the only time in their lives they would have total, ultimate power over a man's penis.
The next time some circ'ed guy aggressively claims on this board how he really enjoys sex? - Just think - would he really want to believe that actually, women decided the day he was born to put a MASSIVE limit on how much he would EVER enjoy sex? - I think not.
There was a time when we waited for the 1st guy to come along to propose, so we could pay our rent. Nowadays, young women have careers so they don't need a man for financial stability.
Therefore I give you the young woman of today - with her career and her vibrator, she makes circumcised guys crawl on their knees around her. I'm sure anyone here with a teenaged or 20 something son knows exactly what I mean.
From a seminar I attended by a priest about 7 years ago .. he stated circumcision was performed in the old days to maintain a standard of cleanliness.. any one care to comment on this ..
I personally feel it would be better to let the child grow up and make an informed decision on his own. Life has too much suffering as is to put a baby under the knife.

If they aren't already aware of it, quite a few boys get exposed to the differences between some of them when they start school, others as they are reaching puberty. By then, not later, boys that have been left uncircumcised should be told about it, and offered circumcision if they feel that they need or want it. Many do but are uncomfortable talking about it. They should not be forced to live with an unwanted or troublesome foreskin all through their teen years until they are grown.
Oh yes...that's right...when I circumcized my son, I was consciously thinking then and there...I'm gonna fuck the little bugger up so he'll never enjoy sex. I'll make it so that any woman that comes into his life will have control over him sexually. I refuse to allow him to experience any joy in lovemaking or any good sensation whatsoever. Where do people get this?? Actually, I was thinking that I would like to avoid any chance of him getting infection, problems later on with a tight foreskin. As much as I cried when he went in, I would rather him go in now and get it done and over with and never know what he was missing, then see him go through major problems later on in life and have to deal with it then. I've never know circumcision to control masturbation or decrease sensitivity in a male. In fact, my son popped his first boner at three months when I changed his diaper and wiped him down. Won't be long before he's walking around with his hand down his diaper rubbing himself. As far as masturbation goes...all men I know masturbate. In fact, women are known to masturbate less than men circumcized or not. I busted my late husband of 52 years masturbating one morning in the washroom...he was circumcized. At 52 you'd think he would really be insensitive down there. On the contrary.
Why shocked? Circing em gives us control. Whats wrong with that? Their egos are so fragile they'll refuse to believe we did in their dicks, so keep it up girls. She's right, it's the only time that we get to have total control over a penis, and best yet, he'll never know, or be willing to admit, what you did to him. Hell, he may even thank you for it. Go for it!
The US is the only western country to practise routine infant circumcision. Thankfully all other western countries do not do so routinely.
There is probably some correlation between routine infant circumcision and the masculinisation of American women.
For the less masculinised American women, they can at least assume that a potential male partner from western countries outwith the USA and Canada is likely to be intact. And indeed even a majority of younger Canadian males are now intact.
The intended purpose of circumcision in the US was to inhibit sexua| behavior and take away sexua| independence. Kellog said as much as that when he started circumcising his patients in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.
When you cut off the part of the penis that is so important for pleasure it makes it very difficult to have pleasure. A circumcised male has to work harder because he has a desensitized penis.
It is f*cked up for an eleven year old boy to find that his penis had suffered some injury and the affects of which will never totally heal when he is discovering girls for the first time! And to have the nerves on the circumcision scar not feeling pleasure but still feeling a lingering pain and numbness is obscene. That happened to me.
I would search for sexua| pleasure obsessively. I tried to overload myself. Feeling a little pain or insensitivity on the penis did not seem ‘normal’ to me so I tried to get sex all the time.
It made a beggar out of me. My cousin’s friend called me a pervert once and that really hurt my feelings. It made me insecure. I was afraid of the circumcised area of my penis, I tried to have sex with out using it. I would over focus on the other areas and I would obsess about touching a girl. I have to climax from excitement; stimulation on the circumcised area kills any romantic ideas I have.
Circumcision is a form of sexua| domination.
Cutting off the fore skin because ‘it might have problems’ is idiotic. European guys say infections are almost unheard of. The uncircumcised men in my family have never had any problems. One would go camping and not bathe for days and you know what? I never noticed him smelling but then again I was not a pervert sniffing his crotch.
