Can anybody fill me in on nephillum? Apart from small mention in Bible cant find anything else about them, looked up on net and only found some Jewish study thingy. Being such a nosey parker I want to know more about this
I personally haven't run across much more than what's written in the Bible myself, but I do know there are a number of christian novels on the subject. You can go to Christianbook.com and find them. I don't know if someone's fantasy is what you're looking for, doesn't sound like it. However, who knows, it might prove interesting.
Thanks Ali, no I'm not looking for someones fantasy or novels on the subject. Just hadnt heard it before so looked up on net and today found a bit more but seems to be a bit of a myth. Better put it back in the fantasy box hey.

They were the offspring of fallen angels that abandoned "their homes" or angelic souls, and procreated with the daughters of men. They went on to be men of renoun because of their superiority, geneticly speaking. However they became violent in their ways and God saw fit to destroy them in the great flood of Noah. You are very kind. I thank you for the warm welcome. I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier, but the world must have it's way after all. With regard to your question pertaining to the Nephilim, I am of the current understanding that they were destroyed at the time of the great flood. I find it difficult to accept that the punishment of the watchers, who abandoned their own homes, did not set an excellent example to the others that may dare to disobey the command of their Creator, not to go after strange flesh.
If we were to delve further into the Scriptures, however, perhaps we can see where this may bring us??? In Genesis 6 it states that" When men began to increase in number on the Earth, and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the Lord said " My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be one hundred and twenty years". The Nephilim were in the Earth in those days- and also afterward- when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heros of old, and men of renoun. The Lord saw how great the wickedness on the Earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the Earth, and His heart was filled with pain. So the Lord said " I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the Earth-men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air-for I am grieved that I have made them." But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord."
So sons of God procreated with the daughters of men, and the offspring were called the Nephilim. Now the sons of God had to be angels, otherwise the designation for them would be the sons of men, or sons of Adam. This can also be reasonably deduced because the offspring were superior to the sons of Adam, as they were heros, and men of renoun.
But this raises a huge problem, doesn't it??? After all our Lord Jesus is called "The Son of God" So how can this be reconciled??? Our Lord Himself is saying that Jesus was an angel. But wait!!! Adam is also refered to as a son of God.

I must have frightened Eileen away. This saddens me, however the time is very short, and the hour is at hand for the Truth to be revealed. It takes courage to see the Truth, for to see the Truth is to see the true reflection of ones spirit. It is to see ourselves as God sees us. For the record, it's usually embarrassing, and always humiliating.
While it is true that the Nephilim were giants born of angelic fathers, it is equally true that The Word was a created angel. In fact He was the Arch angel Michael, who entered into Jesus at His Baptism. He is of course an angel no longer, but our God, as he has accomplished His Father's requiremennt, in order that the curse of spiritual death be lifted from Adam. Jesus was the Father's unblemished sacrificial lamb, whereas Michael was the unblemished spiritual lamb. So you see, when Jesus died on the torture stake, a New Master Covenant was sealed. Up until that time there was just the promise of The Father, to The Son, that He should give spiritual life to the sons and daughters of Adam.
With this in mind, have a look at Proverbs 8. You will see that the Word is the narrator and that the narrator is female.
Also go back to the first chapter in Hebrews, and read it again for the first time. Listen to what the God of your creation has to say about the God of your Salvation.

Also Cain was first from Adam, so his genetic make up was equal to that of his brother's. I'm sorry to inform you that your Church has been misled, and consequently, they misled you. Furthermore, Cain's punishment, for the murder of his brother, was twofold, and interestingly in line with the punishment{s} for the transgression{s} in the garden of Eden. I realize that you have been taught that Adam procreated to the extent that there came to be many generations, but this is a false teaching as the Scriptures make it abundantly clear that Seth was created to replace Able. So all three sons that are mentioned are indeed the first three males to come into existance through the procreation of Adam and Eve. In fact Seth was brought forth to carry on the lineage of the children of God. Cain never did repent, as the Scriptures will verify.
Consider the twofold punishment on Adam for a moment. Firstly he must suffer death. He was evicted from the garden and therefore prevented from partaking from the tree of life. Our Lord is stating that he has lost the ability to pass on spiritual life, as he clearly passed on physical life for much of his 930 year long stay in the world in which he was cast. It is in the same way that Adam was allowed to exist as a living soul, that our Lord provided a pathway, through the process of redemption, to spiritual life through the coming Christ. The Christ effectively replaces our spiritual father, Adam. It was the crucification that sealed the deal, at which point Michael was elevated to the superior position of God, being one with the Father who sent Him.
What did Thomas say, after having been given his proof??? "My Lord and my God". So the question I pose to you is what is the difference between Lord and God??? The trinity doctrine is of the devil. The Father is the Creator. The Son is the chosen son out of all the sons to represent The Father, to His Creation. Thus the title The "Word of God". The Holy Spirit is the body of Holy angels that remained loyal to the Father at the time of the original sin. The uprising of Lucifer was so effective, as to draw one third of the body of angels away from God, because he was the most wise, and beautiful of all the angels. In fact he was the first born of creation, who lost his birthright to Michael, who was next in line. Again, this is why Seth was brought forth. It was to fulfill God's righteousness. You are aware that every single first born son of every single patriarch, lost his birthright to a more deserving son, right??? I was hoping to ease into the deeper truths, in order to give everyone time to recover from the knowledge they will most assuredly gain, when confronted with God's glorious Truth. Eileen!!! do not allow Satan to deceive you into increasing your fear, for the children of God live in the promise that Satan has no power over their spirits. Yes your physical souls can be destroyed, but not your spiritual soul. That is safe if you just have faith in the promise. We have more power over our spirits than does Satan. So, you are saying that the Trinity does not exist, that Jesus is Michael the Archangel, the Holy Spirit is a body of angels (plural) and Satan is going to be saved...pure fantasy story, obviously made up in the mind of some man, with no scriptural support whatsoever. I am grateful that your fear is not elevated, as it happens to so many. Your understanding is limited as of yet. The only reference that the Church has anything to stand on is in John. The one time where three are one, and the mainstream Church claims that it refers to the very being of Almighty God. Yet no one has "seen" The Father, but the son??? What of the Holy Spirit??? How about the living creatures that surround the thrown of God??? You know, the ones with all the eyes that can see in all directions except the direction of the thrown where The Father sits, along with The Son, at His right hand???
As to the teaching that The Holy Spirit is the power of God. This is one of the many teachings that they got at least partially right. If you venture back to Hebrews, as I suggested earlier, you will find God's definition of what an angel is. His Holiness presents it in the form of a question. " Are not all God's angels ministering spirits sent to those that are to inherit salvation?
Taken from a human perspective, it sounds an awful lot like the power of God to me. So angels are spiritual beings that do God's will as it pertains to His Children, with reference to their birthright of salvation. Furthermore, the same book of Hebrews states that in the past God spoke to his children through the prophets. Remember that no one has seen The Father, but The Son??? It had to be The Word of God acting in The father's stead, as communication between the Spiritual and the physicaltook place throughout the entire Bible. Carefully reread that which I have shared, and pray to your Heavenly Father for understanding. Look carefully at the first chapter of Hebrews and see how it is that our Lord chooses to speak with us.
Ask anything and offer everything, for this is the will of the Lord, and the smoke billowing from your churning mind, as it rises to the Heavens, is the lovliest of aromas to the God of gods and Lord of lords.
To answer your question as to what kind of true Christian believes this? There is no need of my answering, for you have said it yourself, A TRUE CHRISTIAN. One who follows the Lamb wherever He goes. One who follows The Master and not the slave of the same. It is I that does this thing, and it will be you as well, one day.

If I may continue. The second of the twofold punishments on Adam was that he must work from the sweat of his brow to gain his sustenance. So we have the curse of death, and the curse of the ground placed on Adam.then we have the twofold punishment on the firstborn son, Cain. He was banished from the ground, which is to say what??? No, he wasn't a floater. He was forbidden to live before the face of God. Which was what??? He was forbidden to live among the children of God, not that there were many at that time. In fact there were three, mom, pop, and the banana head himself, as Abel was dead, and Seth was not brought forth yet.
The second part of his punishment verifies my previous statement.
He was to be a fugitive in the land. The land that would produce nothing to him. His punishment was indeed harsh. So harsh in fact that he whined like a little school girl. He felt that his punishment was too great to bear, for he states that any in the land that find me will kill me,{sounds like nethinim to me} besides which, what is a farmer to do if the sweat of his brow brings him nothing to eat at all. This would reduce him to a begger to the inferior beings that were taking up residence in the previous Age that his family had been cast into, due to the sin of his father.
So you see that one must look with eyes that see to understand the language of the Lord. For look!!! Cain was a farmer and he offered up his finest crap,{pardon me I mean crop} to God. Ask yourself this question. Where did the crop come from??? {I can't stand it, let me say} It was from the cursed ground, wasn't it? Cain offered up the very punishment of his father to the God who exacted that punishment. So Beej, was his punishment too severe??? was his punishment anything less than perfect justice, from a perfect God.

What does a child of God eat when removed from the garden??? They were to be vegitarians, as it was decreed by the Lord. The man was a farmer. His work would not benifit from the power of the land. If he could kill his own brother then it is not a great leap to presume that he could kill an animal. If not meat then wild growth from a cursed ground. He could have traded meat for plants, or he would be reduced to beg for his food. But he was afraid that he would be killed, and not by an animal, because one cannot be a fugitive, but from other men. So it would seem that old Cain had to come up with some clever plan, for his very survival.
In a patriarchial system the names of woman have no relevance but to aid in revealing the hidden Truth, so it is possible that he took a sister as his wife, though highly improbable. As a child of God, his genetic structure had to be far superior to that of existing humans. His knowledge would have also been greater than these others, as he was a direct descendant of Adam, who was the perfect man, having knowledge of God. So it seems to me that these attributes would have given him a great advantage in winning the hearts and minds of those that would kill him. Let us not forget the sign placed on Cain by God, that promised horrendous punishment on any that dared to kill him.
The mainstream Church has the family of the first perfect man as vengeful blood thirsty killers, regardless of the extremely harsh punishment on Cain. Do you mean to tell me that these family members would have no fear of the same, being exacted on them??? Not to mention the fact that they would had to have disagreed with the Lord's judgement, in that it was not severe enough. Still, one would have to place the very geography of the families in question, that would kill him. Why weren't they living in the face of God??? The Churches have become fools. They want your money and your loyalty, not to mention God's glory.
As to my Church, let us leave that a mystery until you have been healed of your hardened heart. Only then will you be capable of accepting God's glorious Truth.
The Scriptures state God's word according to the creation of Adam and Eve, as follows

Who is "us"??? Well it couldn't be the Holy Spirit of the trinity, as that is merely the power of God, not a person to speak with. It is not The son of the trinity, as He doesn't need to be given permission from Himself, because He is really the Father who sent Him.

The Sons of GOD were not fallen angels. the fallen angels did not retain the right to be called the Sons of God.they lost that right when they chose to follow satan.
