I have read many books on spiritual healing including the posts here and I get quite disturbed by the undertone that when you are sick it’s your own fault. Do you know how much pressure that puts on someone who is chronically ill? There is too much pointing the finger with this belief that you created your own disease. You cannot tell me that all CIDS and MCS people all have emotional problems. In fact, these people are usually strong minded individuals who are so willing to get better. The suicide rate is very low in CIDs and MCS people because of this. They do not have emotional problems to begin with they may end up being sad- not depressed- because their life is so debilitating.
There is something about disease that shifts the blame to the victims, if it is acknowledged at all. We are deemed by some to be constitutionally weak or hypertensive; often we are labelled as being malingerers. To some we might appear to be alarmists or chemophobic. This is despite the fact that most of us with environmental illness are intelligent people who have lived busy and successful lives before our illness and want nothing more than our health restored. No-one has yet explained to me why we would enjoy having to drop out of society as we know it and turn our lives upside down in order to ensure our survival.
I have done NLP, kinesiology, visual imagery etc and it changed nothing. I can hear the cogs turning now and you are probably thinking that I haven’t finished my spiritual cleansing work. Well I am here to tell you that I have; I have nothing to left to give and I am so tired of being blamed for being sick or being accused of being a failure because I can’t get myself better.
There are mannnnny reasons why someone would get sick (some simply physical, yes!). I have heard many people, once over a debilitating sickness, say, 'Ah! NOW I know why I was sick - I learned this and this and this...I wouldn't be where I am now...etc etc'.
Maybe your path is to be a Healer? And usually healers need to go through the experience first hand in order to help others...
I totally agree. Beyond the illusion of the physical is the real "spiritual" purpose or assignment. Your journey is uniquely yours. It will all make sense when the time is right. I don't believe anything is simply physical although it strongly appears to be in a duality consiousness mode. Flesh always follows from the top down (spiritual to mental to emotional to physical). It can be a real mind screw though to accept your situation and trust its purpose. The pain body thrives on the "story". When we reliquish the "story" we experience behind the illusion. When we achieve this we transcend.
When Tracey speaks of the path she is right on the money. Our paths intersect, we have free will and it all bends and weaves in a perfect dance of all that is.
Our percieved pain arises when we fixate on the story (our story) which is a conditioned set of programms (impulses). We are liberated when we finally realize that we are not our story. We are beyond our story. When we get trapped in our story we react out of that, we filter experience through it. It is illusionary and not real. All pain stems out ofliving in the past or the future. Our real existence is in the now. By simply residing in that now cultivates presence. It is this presence that ultimately raises consciousness and transmutes pain, illness, dis ease. In this state we are in devine harmony recieving the perfect message from all that is and resonating with it instead of against it.
I hope this makes some sense.
All levels our important because they are a reflection of each other. So to your intitial thought, we must adress all levels to heal. One can't raise consciousness on an eight lane freeway while traffic is flying at you in all directions. Conversly, through the law of attraction, we will always find ourselves stumbling across eight lane freeways if we continue to run the same attraction patterns which stem out of disharmony with our spiritual purpose. In other words it gets alot easier when we flow with the stream instead of against it.
In some respect I agree with what you are saying. There have been many testimonials in books etc about healing from cancer and other disorders through spiritual and emotional healing. But there have also been stories from practitioners who have had patients who have everything to live for and have tried all the non-conventional methods of healing and have died. I just don’t think that with an illness such as CIDS that all of these people have emotional problems. There are environmental issues and basic genetic/hereditary physical problems associated.
I am speaking from personal experience of course. IN terms of my family giving me numerous books about how other people have healed themselves and why can’t I. My NLP Dr saying I had failed myself because I should have healed myself by now or friends saying it’s my fault that I am unwell (haven’t worked out why they would say that). But anyway, I have got over this and people can think what they like now. It’s too stressful to let these thoughts overcome you when you are unwell.
I am all for trying to heal emotionally, but I think it is wrong to place this kind of pressure on chronically ill people who are so vulnerable. By doing this, it could potentially worsen their emotional state as they see themselves as a failure.
One book that may resonate at this time is "The Power Of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. If you prefer unabridged audio, you can down load it at audible.com. I like the audio version cause eckie reads his own stuff and is energy really breaks thru.
What about a Sacred Santemony session with Andreas Moritz (you can read about it at www.ener-chi.com)? The express purpose of this session is to help you break through the things that are preventing you from healing. In most cases these things are unknown and cannot be reached very easily through self-inquiry or conventional methods. The best $50 I've ever spent!
