I've been working towards a cleanse for some time, but have encountered some obstacles.
I initially bought the Colonix program (which doesn't contain bentonite), but after more intensive research, I decided I wanted to incorporate Bentonite and fasting into my cleanse, and to do it over a more intense shorter term rather than the two or three month period suggested by Colonix. Basically, I decided I wanted to do something more like the BH program, but since the ingredients are similar, I thought I could use the Colonix instead, with some adjustments.
However, as I was in the "pre-cleanse" mode (i.e. eating less and drinking a Colonix plus Bentonite shake in the evening with a laxative tea), I became constipated. I'm sure it was because I wasn't drinking enough water, but I haven't been able to get real relief since (this happened about six weeks ago). I am having BM's, but it is a lot of work to produce a very small amount. I have never been constipated before, and I am miserable. I stopped drinking the P&B until I could get going again.
I have tried juicing, coffee enemas and salt flushes, and while I do expel some fecal matter, I still feel impacted. Obviously, I am reluctant to re-start the pre-cleanse until I can get myself "moving" again, as I think it was the P&B that really clogged me up.
One thing I noticed, however, was that BH site emphasizes no citrus while on the program. I had also read something about Ph balance being a factor in elimination (particularly with MP, but I thought it might be applicable here). I do like to drink water with lemon, and frequently add lemon or lime when I juice anything. Could this be contributing to my constipation?
Any suggestions at all? I am very frustrated, as I came into this wanting a good cleanse, and now I am much more plugged up.
I don't have an answer for all your questions, but I would think it is better to stick with one system. PB-shakes are often done for months at a time, so not quicker than colonix.
Some people have trouble with PB because their bodies are too dry (especially vata body types according to Ayurvedic medicine) and should not use the PB.
Your other option is Oxypowder (http://www.oxypowder.com) that is a different system, check the website.
Try drinking some prune juice. That will loosen things up in a hurry. Don't drink too much at once unless your going to be close to a bathroom in the subsequent time.
