Hi y'all! The purpose of this is to encourage newbies and to give an update to all of you, my friends!
I have just finished 30 days on Colonix. (I am a healthy 34 year old mom, and did this to support my husband who really needs the cleanse due to mysterious symptoms...). So far, I would reccomend this cleanse. I chose it because i am travelling (at a hotel right now!) and we needed something easy, gentle, and that we only had to do morning and evening. I also purchsed the Paranil Jr. parasite program from the Dr. Natura site for our kids, ages 9,7,5.
We had all the 'ususal' symptoms; headaches, itchy spots, slicht upset tummy, etc. The symptoms I had not expectred were low energy, and not being able to sleep between the hours of 12pm and 3 am. Interestingly enough, others on this forum have experienced these symptoms. How glad i was to have the forum as a resource to discuss this! On day 26 or so I experienced cramping in the early morning (like 2.am) and then passed a rope-y thing! It was not as black or as thick as the pictures, but it was stinky and huge, with lots of encapsulated junk. As soon as i passed it, I had a great rush of energy that has not abated. This was worth the whole experience!
Much can be found on this forum about the cleanses (i encourage you to read all the posts!), so I just want to add a few thoughts about the opportunities a cleanse can provide...
TO TAKE BACK YOUR POWER: Though i have always been healthy, I am now experiencing how powerful it feels to be proactive about and take charge of my health, to realize the choices about my life are mine, and i should use other's 9even doctor's) opinions as just that... OPINIONS I should analyze and consider. Ultimately, the one who knows what is best for my body is ME.
TO LEARN TO LISTEN TO YOUR BODY: Am i drinking enough water? Do I need more fiber? Less? How do i feel right now? Cleansing has given me the opportunity to re-learn to listen, and to make connections between how i am feeling and what I am doing.
TO PROCESS OLD EMOTIONS: There is no doubt about it, when you release bowel junk ( and even helathy people have a little junk) you have the opportunity to 'let it go' both literally and figuratively. I was scared of having to re-live painful memories, but fortunately it was nothing so dramatic. Rather before 'big movements' I would experience slight anxiety, frustration, sadness, etc, and when the junk would pass, so would the emotion, leaving me feeling lighter. I even dreamed about folks i had not thought of for years, with emotion, and then 'pass' it. Lest you feel scared, this was not uncomfortable feeling! It felt good, healthy, and beautiful.
TO CHANGE MY HABITS: While on the cleanse i lost the taste for sweets. I hope to keep up this habit when I am done! White flour stuff feels really gross to me too.... a further example of how I am becoming more tuned in to what is bad for my body.
Newbies: do you need to cleanse? I say... why not? I am the picture of health (i thought) and it has been most useful to me. What cleanse do you need to do? Only you know the answeer to that! Research, research, research (part of taking back the power) and one cleanse will keep standing out to you.
Remember, there are no magic bullets... it is a PROCESS. And an exciting one at that!!!
Wow- I could go on and on! I am at a hotel now and wee are about to leave, so I will wrap it up. Thank you, curezone family for being my encouragement and inspiration during this. Here's to another month! My love and blessings to you all!
Thank You so much for your post. It is very encouraging. I felt as though I was very healthy and just wanted to start covering some bases that normal Docs don't touch. I am on day 4 of Colonix. My friend whom I gave one of my boxes to, so she could start the same day, has already seen a difference in her BM. She will be one of those people you read about on the Drnatura website. She told me she used to pray to God to have a regular BM and ask Him what she did to deserve to to be constipated all the time. She has tons of emotional crap she needs to be free of much less the physical stuff. She in turn has 2 more friends who will be ordering next.
I keep reading and keep learning. I have past this site along to my sister and mother and hope they find something useful here too.

HappyOne, you have written yet another positive and beneficial -- and beautifully written -- post. Thank you.
I love this site. I love the spirit of 1) learning, learning, learning and 2) sharing with others what we've learned and experienced.
I too have experienced greatly reduced sweets cravings. It's weird!... Also, i've noticed <<>> that after eating white flour stuff my BMs are sludgey. (One of the good side effects of my new BM-poking habit is noticing things like this. Ha.) I can clearly see how this would impact elimination (or the lack of). That in itself is motivation not to eat the bad white stuff.
Hey you know a good thing about the traveling you're doing while on the cleanse? You don't have to bear the brunt of higher plumbing and toilet paper bills! haha.... 8^)
HappyGrrl, ditto thanks on the excellent post. I too have had problems sleeping until 3 AM (which sucks because normally I don't sleep much AFTER 3 AM), so I'm having problems sleeping steadily at all. But it didn't occur to me it had anything to do with the Colonix until your post. Also ditto on the upset stomach, itchyness, low energy. But it's not as bad as it sounds, and thanks to posts like yours I know this all has a positive outcome.
My biggest problem so far has been with water consumption. I've been drinking 1 1/2 gallons of water (and some tea) each day, yet I've been really stopped up - and this from someone with a routine BM every day usually at the same hour. After two days I was able to go a little today but that was after taking over 3K mg of vitamin C (1K MG is usually all I need to loosen things up).
Everything else about the Colonix program is very convenient but YIKES the water consumption is massive for me (and the resulting need to urinate every half hour). Has anyone else had problems with water consumption?
Where else could total strangers be "bound together with a common thread".... Thanks for sharing. I'm on day 20 and was just starting to think maybe this was futile. I had hoped to experience the flattening of the belly but alas, not yet. Dare I hope??
According to the Dr. natura support folks, you should drink no more than 64 oz of water during this cleanse. By those standards you are drinking too much! I think their recommendation was too low for me, so I took my weight (140 lbs.) divided it in half, and drink that many oz. (70 oz.). That is a little more than half a gallon i think. It still feels like not enough, so i am adding it bit by bit. Anyway, you might want to play with the water amounts until you get what feels good for you. Also remmeber to drink it throughout the day, not all at once. Your urination frequency will even out soon... we all experienced this when we started getting re-hydrated.
Also, try steeping your tea for longer until you get the desired result. I do mine for 4 minutes, my husband needs 10 minutes. Just play around with your proportions of fiber/water/ tea time until you get it to your satisfaction. Best of luck to you!
Happygrrl, even without fasting I'm a heavy liquids drinker, keeping a one gallon thermos of iced tea that I finish and partially refill every day. That's in addition to hot green tea and yerba mate that I drink throughout the day. I'm forcing more than that down now and am really surprised that I could be backed up for lack of liquids.
Yesterday I stopped the fibre and steeped the tea for 5 minutes (was doing 2-3 before) and "eveything came out ok" this morning. So it's back to the fibre today and I'll stick with 5 minutes or maybe longer on the steep time, even though the directions say between 2-5. Even though I haven't seen anything interesting in the throne yet, I really enjoy that my cravings for food and especially sweets has been so much lessened. That makes the lower mucous producing diet easier to manage and I somehow feel cleaner just for that.
So even if I never see tires, aliens or sea monkeys, I can tell this will be worthwhile when all's said and done.
Hey Larry, I see I'm not the only person who hasn't given up caffeine yet! Oh dear. You know, you're drinking a LOT of caffeine in those 3 teas. Yerba mate has a lot I know... Some say yerba mate doesn't have caffeine. Others say it's a different form of it. I don't know the answer, but I DO know they you need lots of extra water when you drink it.
I think you're on the right track w/ your tea-steeping adjustment. But also keep in mind that caffeine is a diuretic and THAT means your body's need for water is even higher! I've definitely noticed getting bound up when i drink too much coffee. When I have more than usual, I have to make myself drink even MORE water. Sometimes I decide all the peeing isn't worth the coffee (which i shouldn't be drinking anyway) and the need for a life preserver.
yeah I know what you mean... i am down now to two cups of coffee in the a.m. but it's difficult... I LOVE it! I understand that for every oz of diuretic you drink you shoud drink an oz of water, and that does not contribute to the '1/2 your body weight in oz' total. I agree... sometimes it is not worth the extra caffiene just to have to go to the bathroom any more than i already do!
What i was thinking about earlier is the dr. Natura reccommendatin to drink NO MORE than 64 oz. I am not sure why this is, except that they say it can interfere with the work of the fiber... maybe make it too loose so that it does not swell and pull of the gunk. Oh well... i seem to be OK with the 72 oz for now (more on dry days... I am now visiting family in Tucson and i feel like a raisin!)
Actually I've cut way down on the tea for the Colonix (my gallon thermos has only water now), but I didn't realize it was a no-no. I usually drink yerba mate or green tea when I get hungry between meals, but I guess I'll have to cut that out too.
I agree with you both that I don't want ANY more trips to the B-room than absolutely necessary. Having to chug water and visit the john every half hour is the most inconvenient thing about this - which I guess isn't all that bad.
I have found that when i substitute a non- caffeinated hot drink for one of my caff. portions i usually feel OK. I guess it's a trick... holding that hot cup makes me feel like i am getting my daily treat! Good luck!
